I always fit new plugs if a petrol engine I have worked oner 400 cars that I have owned over the years and in that time never seen a air filter so dirty that has not been changed for a few years and I have not had a oil filter that was just hand tight to undo at least you have done a first class job gaz the car will run much sweeter now love the video

Excellent job Gary them filters have probably been in since new judging by the look of them and last years oil change I would question. With your good work there on the air filter and hose you will probably save the customer fuel as the car will run sweeter.

Gary, you did a top class job. The price for that air intake hose was a bit steep. The air intake hose for my BMW E36 was about £45 from the dealer and even the Celica's was also less than the HR-V and the price included shipping from Japan!

Somebody has been in there before as the black cassette cover arrows should be pointing down so you've actually put the pollen filter in upside down.
The air flows top to bottom hence the dirt from the outside on the top

It’s a Diesel mate so the oil will be very black even after a short time after it’s been changed, that’s normal for a Diesel. As for the air filter it’s normally 3years or 40/60 thousand miles on these modern engines. Good job 👍
Cheers Phil it just the lady had 6 services and each time it's marked as a air filter changed but to me that looks older than a year 👍🏻
@@ProjectMan my mrs has a Kia Sportage 68plate diesel it’s done 22k and the oil always looks black after it’s service , I have to get it done at the garage because of the Kia 5 year warranty. Last time it was serviced I sat and watched them do it , time I had driven it home 15 miles the oil was black again , but I know what you are on a petrol engine it’s lovely and clean
I have a 2016 HR-V nice car but I wish it had a Diesel like that one

Good quick service only thing I would suggest is should have done fuel filter another thing that garages don't seem to do on service . Nice job
Apparently that is the only thing the garage did change as that's why they thought it was going in limp mode for unbelievable

Yes one of my friends years ago had work Experience Auto world main dealer and they Didn’t have the correct oil filter for this car .so he said we haven’t got one in stock to the Main mechanic work there and he said clean out the old oil filter

Honda prices are crazy. But 89 squid for a pipe that obviously has a design issue is even crazier.
It's only going to split again down the road.
Just think how much dirt has got through the engine that the air filter has missed due to the split.
My 09 accord still on original pipe and its solid so that pipe either needs to be redesigned or reduced in cost as i would consider it a service item lol.
I could be wrong in that somebody damaged it though

It was changed a couple of weeks before but yes normally comes in a service.

How is it possible the garage missed the cracked pipe and did nothing to fix the car and an air filter to get that filthy in 5 years,. Unbelievable ..
The car never been done for six years and the pipe should of been seen

Apparently the garage changed it as thats what they thought the car was going into limp mode for 🤔 so they changed the diesel filter because it said air flow issues 😂🤦♂️
What kind of garage does that surely the first to check was the air filter then they would have found the split hose .The mind boggles with some mechanics who probably charged the lady a few quid
