Brilliant! My horse teeth did not make me lisp but they changed my bite, wore down my lower teeth , and actually changed my lower facial structure. The inside of my lower lip would get sore from the contact. I just could not adapt to all of the changes and had them shortened a michron which helped minimally.
Be absolutely certain you are wearing a night guard! Porcelain is very abrasive and will wear the opposing teeth from nighttime bruxism if a night guard is not worn.
She said that I did not need a night guard unless I woke up with sore jaws. Also said there was no way the veneers caused the wear. Did red and black to show where they were hitting . Told me the wear was already there. I am so done with her. I am in tears. Just want people to be aware that even though Dentists are highly recommended and praised does not mean they will do good work. She is also a dental instructor at a BIG university near me.I give up. Thank you for your time. God bless.
Get a nightguard! Most people grind their teeth while sleeping (bruxism) unless they are big snorers. This nighttime teeth grinding wears away the opposing teeth. Porcelain restorations are very abrasive, especially when they are on the anterior teeth. Certainly wear could already be present on the teeth, but why not stop the wear with a night guard, especially if you now have porcelain restorations on your anterior teeth?
I have one now. I just have to try and mold it to fit. The dentist said I didn't need one.and also denied that there was any wearing away on the surfaces of lower teeth. Everytime I close my mouth the back of my upper teeth touch and have worn away not only my enamel but a couple of crowns as well. It is so obvious to me. I have flat surfaces where they have worn the surfaces away. Why would she say she does not see this? Next step is ADA.... I wish I could share pictures with you as I am a learning tool for dental students. I agree with you a nightguard would have prevented this damage.Thank you for your help and knowledge.
This is a very interesting channel! Thanks for sharing!
