[19:46] "VALLEY 2" Interlocking: LIRR's Far Rockaway Branch (coming in from far left) and West Hempstead Branch (coming in from far right) merge with the Long Beach Branch (center) west at Valley Stream Station. [28:45] "HALL" Interlocking: Provides access for most westbound LIRR trains (all except Port Washington Branch trains) into Jamaica Station. [40:40] "HAROLD" Interlocking: LIRR's Port Washington Branch, Main Line and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor merge west toward either NY Penn Station, or Grand Central Terminal via East Side Access.
Did this for many years. It's the absolute worst branch ever ! What a nightmare . And Center Ave, is a complete waste, no one ever gets on or off ! The bridge thing takes forever and on the Long Beach side, the conductor has to jump off the train to switch tracks !
Hi Retired rail fan: if by chance your thinking about going to San Francisco and trying "Bart" if they don't let you record from up front for the watcher it isn't very good. Side recording has been tried and when you go into subway mode the glare from the lights inside the train give a mirror image causing you to see chairs and other objects, people inside the train. I've seen another person try it(filming) and I couldn't watch anymore. To me it was a thumbs down experience
What once was a great infrastructure now, the joke of the developed world. Our bridges, our railroads, our airports, are so decrepit it's not funny. All because heaven forbid government actually do something themselves. This thing goes slower than a Disneyland ride.
"Slower than a disneyland ride" - where? Pulling out of the terminal? Its the end of the line, restricted speed both directions. Stations immediately on both ends of the bridge. The best rails in the world wont increase your speed limit there

From a Limey across the pond - MORE please!!
Thanks for uploading, I feel this video shows the Long Beach Branch needs more service.
Wow, an express from Long Beach to Penn Station.
Long Beach is my hometown I hope you enjoyed your time there, looks the same as it did 20 years ago

Great job
Long Beach also needs rapid transit. I propose many new lines throughout the area of eastern Queens, Nassau County, & Suffolk County.
Apparently there used to be more land and a stop at about 4:58, a bit before Island Park station, over 100 years ago.
Please do front view videos of the M-3A to & from Southeast, to & from North White Plains, & to & from Croton Harmon.
Thank You!
nice video
From October? I thought they started to block off the front with tape so you couldn't stand by window anymore
Don't know about how it is like now, but it was not blocked when I filmed.
Why is their a second third rail on the single track bridge out of Long Beach?
not quite sure

When was this filmed?
Oct 6th
Too bad the LIRR M3s don’t go to GCT.

Trains at Disneyland don't go 65mph
Engineer is terrible on the horn sequences at crossings
