On big roads and motorways the aires are more like the U.K. motorway services. However, most people in France do not buy their petrol at roadside petrol stations but at the supermarkets where the prices are usually significantly lower.
I had to stop you again. You are talking about convenience shops in Britain and saying that in France there is nothing. That simply isn’t true you just don’t know where to look. Only last weekend I was staying with some friends deep in rural France in the Lot. I wanted to nip out to buy some take away beers so typed supermarche into Google and was shown a massive choice within a short distance. Most of them also sold petrol. It’s like that everywhere.
Your ignorance and inexperience is making you sound stupid. You do not have to plan carefully and take everything with you. Just like I have explained for petrol stations and supermarkets there are restaurants, cafe/bars and boulangeries that will often contain cafes everywhere. Then of course there are the fast food chains. What you do need to do with most restaurants is respect that they will only serve meals at given times although with more experience you will discover the ones that serve from, for example 11:00 to 23:00. I know these videos are about you doing something new, a step into the unknown but please do so research before sharing misinformation.
