I had last been to Big Boss about 6 or 7 years ago, and believe me, all these years I did not have any desire to repeat it . I would not say it was rank bad or completely unpalatable --- but it's certainly not the place whose food makes you want to go back again. To sum up , I think the most important reason why people throng this place is the availability of ample parking space , and not their food.
I also felt the same when I went there last week. Will avoid going there from next time. The only thing I like about Big Boss is their Parking. Golden Joy has always given me a good experience till date.

I went to Big Boss just a week ago. The main USP of the place is their parking as the other restaurants of Chinatown don’t really have proper parking place. The food was pretty average, some were really bad except the Mixed Meifoon. I found it very tasty. In my opinion, Kafulok is much better when it goes to quality & also the price. Big Boss always disappoints.

Tangra food has become very greasy I found as it helps the chefs, possibly, to have faster turnaround times in crowded periods. And the spice is either too Caliente or too bland. With alcohol, the food is not the hero. Also sadly, the patrons are gushing about Quantity and not quality. Speaks a bit about customer palates also. Fir restaurants, if you can get away with it why bother then? Also, like, going to "Maddox" during Pujo is an irrational trend for peer validation, similarly going to Tangra is also cool with benefits of booze and quantity as bonuses. Big Boss and a couple of others score on the ample parking they provide. You may not agree with me on the above but that sadly remains my firm perception based on so many experiences over the years. Is it also a dearth of proper chefs for the home chefs of yesteryears have graduated to money counting entrepreneurs and are graduating non talented older helping hands to handle the wok? Lastly, it is most disheartening to note that some of the better houses have given in and joined the bandwagon. As a better Food Vlogger, may I request this insight Intel from your vlogs in case you're interviewing the honchos?
Most of the best Chefs and their teams have migrated to places like Dubai etc,Even Miami for that matter,met a Nepali Chef in Miami who used to cook in Kolkata and Mumbai.These Kolkata restaurants pay a pittance so no wonder thgese chefs choose to migrate,now the so called Chefs are the Jharkhandis,Biharis etc who earlier used to sweep floors no disrespect meant but they are not trained chefs-with no idea what Umami really is and how to balance favors,Chinese coioking is an art,the right temperature the right sauces the right rice etc etc without that its all shtttt flowing downhill sir.

What was once a homely Hakka Cuisine sprinkled with pride and love, different from the Cantonese fare that Nanking, etc got to us, the whole affair has been usurped beyond the original idea. Hardworking folks as they are, it has now been industrialized to cater to whatever the customer demands, nay, falls for
Actually for me big boss restaurant in tangra is an overrated dining place for tasty Chinese food. Ami dubar gechi baje experience. Tobe golden joy n Beijing are saving grace in that area. Still ami bolbo they dnt serve the best Chinese in town. Amr to ektaw menu tempting laglo na dekhe.
The problem is the cutlery everywhere,they have replaced China clay with Melamine which is harmful,Food served in China clay for us old timers imparts a different taste altogether,thos were the days things are going downhill everywhere.

Big Boss r aager moto nei, nosto hoegeche. Last month amar Khub baje experience hoechilo.Kimling far better than Big Boss.
