i believe the actor who plays jules had a big part of writing the special which really shows in the conversation with the therapist. i don’t think i’ve seen such a nuanced pov of trans life. it was really beautifully done
With the exception of a couple of moments, these specials are the absolute best Euphoria ever gets. They feel so much more personal and focused. I feel like Sam and Hunter's (Jules' actress that co-wrote this episode) experiences enabled both of them to write these two episodes that delve into the core of both Jules and Rue. Zendaya and Hunter (and Colman Domingo as Ali) give such expectional performances that elevate the script and show such a nuanced understanding of these situations. I'd honestly go so far as to say these specials are some of my favorite TV that has come out in recent years.
@@BhBc8f8because he’s really only skilled in writing what he knows. he drops the ball on things he has no experience with and that shows more with the 2nd season but it existed within the first season too. he should’ve consulted with more people who actually lived the experiences he was trying to portray. he has really great ideas but he shouldn’t write the whole thing alone.
Not y’all making me excited for Mondays. I’m glad y’all did the special episodes, think they truly are special BUT I’m so ready for y’all to get into season 2
my philosophy teacher was the first person ever, EVER, to ask me if she should call me something else than what the call sheet with the names had on it for me. we never met before that interaction, and just like that, she told and showed me who i was, in a way not even my closes friends ever did. close friends would still dead name me, and say nothing when other people misgendered me in front of them. and tell me that changing the way they call me would be messy for them. since i was mostly called by my surname, when i changed my name, i also changed my surname, to my mother's last name instead, but it was like a "chore" for other people to do it as well. so i moved apart from such people. and people i get to know now, still call me by my last name (its a southamerican thing) but this time they do it using my chosen one, since is the only one, or at least first one they asociate with me, and its a breathe of fresh air.
I think one thing Euphoria has done well is showcase how Jules and Rue have a lot of love for each other but they aren't necessarily good for each other or at least maybe shouldn't be a couple at this moment in time. Also agree with Marketa it's clear Rue needs more care that maybe her mother can't afford. Her mom is a nurse taking care of 2 kids one of whom has an addiction.
this is the best episode of the entire show and it is entirely because hunter wrote most of it and sam had little input. seeing jules be so vulnerable about her transness in a way that I, as a trans person, have never seen truly impacted me in ways I can’t describe. unfortunately sam then proceeded to ruin it all in season 2
@@JaquaySmith1 Season 3 was greenlit and I think they were close to starting production before the strikes happened. If it does happen, I'm guessing it'll probably be the last season since the (arguably) four central actors are so super busy and in high demand.
the interesting thing about femininity/ masculinity of single parents is that they often have to be both to raise the kids right. jules father had to get more feminine and Rues mom had to be a lot more masculine to get it done alone
this is such a dumbass take and not true at all. if you parent kids through the lens of “masculine” and “feminine” then you’re failing as a parent miserably.
i havent started the video yet, i came here to say that this is a very special episode, is literally a work of art, and if u talk over important parts, imma find where yall at, and go to town. with that say, love u guys.
Yes, Black Like Me is a non-fiction book about the author John Howard Griffin darkening his skin and then traveling into the South to get the perspective of what it's like to be a black person in America. It was popular and polarizing because it was released at the height of the Civil rights movement and racial tensions were getting anything but more intense.

Are the edited episodes for season 2 on Patreon?
I can’t find where to get it for free trial

And to think Euphoria is Hunters first acting gig. You just know she's drawing from her real emotions and experience, especially for this episode.
The way they screamed when they saw Nate's face LMAOO

Debatable
RIP to Fez "Angus Cloud". He passed away July 31st.
letting hunter write on this episode is one of the few smart things sam levinson has ever done
Why are people so hesitant to give the guy the credit he deserves 😂

Im bummed that the actor who played Fez died. So sad, he was one of my favorites.
I hope we get specials like this other characters in the future… Interesting shake ups in the show
Are they even doing anymore seasons?

fesco actor passed away so, its complicated

season 3 will be the last season and most people probably won’t even return and thank god for that
