My First Skydiving in Tecumseh, MI

I was an adventurous kinda YOLO guy.
Why not jump out of a perfectly good airplane at 3000ft?
We spent the days training to do our first static line jump.
This is when you stand on a small platform above the wheel and hang on to the strut from the wing. The Jumpmaster will yell loudly, "Gooooooo! (Go)
You let go of the strut and activate your training;
ARCH
LOOK
REACH
PULL
By then the static line has pulled your parachute open.
You pull the steering risers to enjoy the floaty flight until you hopefully get to the LZ, the landing zone in the round area of pea gravel.
Just before landing, you pull both steering risers into your crotch and flair the parachute to slow and smooth the landing.
I missed the pea gravel and didn't have a perfect landing.
I lived to try it 5 more times.
It took nearly 30 years to jump out of a plane again. This time it was from 14,000 ft on a tandem jump. That was fun and amazing.
