Gaithersburg 1984 (A day of debauchery with friends)
This is originally an audio recording from Gaithersburg Maryland in 1984 at our apt at the Summit Crest Apartments. (Summit CRUST---Roach infested)
I was roommates with Todd and Andi. Todd and I both worked at Bethesda Naval Hospital as Navy Hospital Corpsman/Scrub Techs in Surgery.
While Todd and I were still in tech school in Bethesda, we befriended 2 people in a grocery store parking lot and became lifelong friends.
Doug Sensel and Barb Spade were those 2 people. We all loved to party hard.
We managed to do it quite often during our free time. Doug and Barb eventually became friends also with a huge extended amount of people that we worked with in the Navy.
The people present the day of this audio recording:
Todd and Andi Forte, John Lethbridge, Doug Sensel, Barb Spade and myself.

Awesome on many different levels... Loved going to Southwyck as a child in the 70's & mid 80's ... Many many good memories and Christmas time was one of the best times to be at the mall ... Felt like I found a hidden gem in a TH-cam time capsule ... You were a vlogger/blogger wayyyyyy before it actually existed .. awesome ... I kept looking closely to see if I seen anyone that I knew so that I could share this with them... I remember the arcade and the other arcade called Old towne square or something it had a little pizza diner ... Those were the good old days man gosh how i miss those days so much... I was born in 71 and Southwyck mall was definitely one place where we made many fond memories at .. Woodville mall too... Thanks for allowing me to experience this moment in time and one last thing ... I guarantee you that if those people who actually interacted with you on camera were to see their selves in this video most likely it would definitely tear them up ... Awesome & God bless whoever watches this video ...

My father, known as Saint Giffo met Ken from working at WOHO back in the late 80s when he hosted The RAP Show for the late night spot. It was fun to go to the radio studio and see how all the magic was done. I got to go on the radio with Giffo a couple times as a kid. Very exciting.

CB radio may save the day again, or GMRS, FRS and Ham radio. If cell towers arent physically down because of a particular disaster, the overcrowding and mass demand by panicked users on the system will make trying to call out nearly impossible. And don't forget that government and emergency agancies can commandeer cell tower service for their own needs in times of major trouble.

I was there for a blues fest Buddy Guy and Jr. Wells were on the bill. It rained so hard that they had to cancel it. All the musicians and Junior went to Theos that night. It was a great night Jr. and I traded a few lick on the harmonica I tried to buy him a drink and he said "shoooot aint no white boy gonna buy me a drink I will buy yours" and he did sorta. .... the bartender looked really pissed and I found out later that he was to have drinks for all his friends, man Jr. drank the place empty let alone what he bought for his "friends". good times sorry to hear it is not around anymore.
