Yeah really hard to push the limits in this location where wheel speed and traction is a big issue. I plan to take the pro SS to this same spot to give a good performance comparison. Because with just the added power the SS has I should be able to rail some of these burms. And I know I’ll be able to send it off some of the jumps at the Mx track.
@@gritshift Actually I think the sand was great as a stress test, you were holding it wide open for minutes at a time and the motor was barely warm, shows that it's good quality.
It really depends on what you plan to do with the bike and how your riding. If you plan to completely modify the bike, i.e. battery, controller, motor, suspension, wheels, just get the cheaper model and have fun with it until upgrades start rolling out, because you will be changing all of those parts out. If you don't plan to upgrade everything and still want a bike that is capable you might be better off getting the SS model for the larger wheels, battery, suspension and added power.
If I was to choose between those two specifically I would choose the Pro S. The rear linkage design is significantly better than the Falcon, The controller is also better, and I think there will be much larger aftermarket support for E Ride in general.
@@whoisadam Ehhh that's a really tough one. I have more seat time on the Talaria and have also broken much more parts on the Talaria. So that would push me towards an E Ride S, and I really like the Talaria Factory forks "Air Model" linkage and triangle are designed well of both bikes. Gearbox is a big weak point for Talaria whereas E Ride is easier to upgrade its primary drive and cheaper. Hmmm I really feel like the answer would depend on the day of the week haha, right now id lean towards E Ride Pro S, But also really want to say MX4 at the same time. If we where comparing it to the Pro SS the answer would be much easier.
@@TheCoppergoat Just from my experience with my Talaria, you have to be cautious of running the chain to tight, because you could snap the output shaft of the gearbox. You shouldn't have the chain to tight on any of these model bikes. But one time in my case due to ignorance, I put a fresh chain on, knowing it would break in and loosen up. On the first ride I went in some deep sugar sand which coated the chain causing it to get tighter, which resulted in snapping the output shaft. In other cases, when you upgrade power on the Talaria the gearbox does get fairly hot, which causes expansion of metal materials, and changes vecosety of gearbox fluid, which usually results in a leaky gearbox. Hense I said usually, this doesn't happen to everyone!! Im not implying the Talaria gearbox is bad in any way, I'm just saying in my opinion it is a weak point. Hopefully with this new MX5 they would have addressed some of these issues by doing an O-Ring seal around gearbox case, and a third bearing support on the opposing end of the jackshaft to distribute load force equally.
Yes both the e-ride pro models stock are miles ahead of the stock surrons , and the e ride pro s is $600 cheaper than a surron, you’re paying for the surron name basically
@@samapfel_08 yea fr , and no problem 👌. But yea honestly the best bang for buck bikes right now is the eride pro s for 4000 or Luna cycles has the updated talaria mx3s with a better controller and factory forks on sale for 3400
Great review/torture test! Sand has cost me thousands of dollars in mods on my Dirt Bike's, ATV's and SXS's. Just when you think you've got the power on dirt try taking it to the dunes and then open up your wallet lol.
Yeah this stuff is very similar to the dune sand. It’s honestly my favorite type of terrain to ride in if I had the power and traction. But like you said it does put a beating on parts.
If i knew what i know today about eride pro ss, i would've never bought it! riding on dirt/small jumps, after battery reaches around 40% bike cuts out on ECO full throttle bike 21MPH on SPORT cuts out at about 21MPH, sometimes even not moving at all on ECO, you can turn full throttle nothing happens. After waiting a while jump on the bike & it's slightly better, after about a minute it cuts out again, i thought it was temperature related but motor/controller combo is cool to the touch. Eride pro & their dealers (hyperrides in cali) have no fudding business selling
I'm certain it is the battery overheating. If you have a second battery i'd switch batteries and see whether the problem persists. Thanks for sharing the experience, hope to learn more about what caused it.
Yeah 100% agree. But when going through berms I usually slide to the front portion of the seat, and that's when I can feel what I mentioned in the video.
Can you actually call me? I edit the videos and have little experience doing so. So if there is something I could learn to make this better it would be greatly appreciated.
No one showed the rear linkage off like you did here. It looks way better than I thought.
I feel like this bike is the real value, and it’s being overshadowed by its bigger brother. The deep sand is a killer for any ebike.
Great video! Looking forward to speed, range tests on the pro S.
I can't find any tho
You've got some mad crashing skills. If I went down that hard they'd have to wheel me out 😅
You really put the “test” in “test ride”, I like to see it. Too many test ride videos where the rider doesn’t even push the limits.

Great video! That sand looks soft!!! Interested to see what it's like with an upgraded tire in those conditions
Just want to see all of the upgrades 👍 ordered the SS and would love to know what are some good street wheels/tires for it
would you suggest this considering price is a factor? Or would you say wait a whole longer and save for the pro ss instead

I love the sand lot/spot near airport rd my 16 inch comes soon going here first thing😂
Which bike do you like better the Pro S or the 79 Falcon? Thanks
