I think it IS George Segal -- his brother WAS Fred Segal died 1987) whom George was referencing at the beginning. However, George Segal's brother Fred was a screenwriter and is NOT the same person as Fred Segal the fashion designer (died 2021)
The " SOLD " Album was Boy George's first Solo Album after the break up of Culture Club and his Heroin Addiction. George looks Healthy and Happy here. He has an Incredible Sense of humor which is good considering what he has experienced in his short life until then. He's about 26 years old during this interview.

Unfortunately even if George had been able to come into America to promote it, the Sold album still would not have done well there. Pop music in America changed way too much by 1987.
