Back in the mid 2000s, Rey Mysterio alongside Batista & Undertaker were one of my favorite childhood wrestlers, back in the good old Friday Night SmackDown days. Rey Mysterio not only brought the lucha libre style by storm but also opened a door for future luchadors, high flying, & Hispanic stars of the ring. @@thequixoticangler3364 that's right. I got into wrestling in August 2003, so the perfect time for the cruiserweight division on Smackdown at that time, and watching Rey on a weekly basis alongside the likes of Tajiri, Jamie Noble, Chavo, Eddie, etc, gave me a lifelong love of wrestling. The first time I saw a live event it was November 2005, the week after Eddie passed, and Rey was in the main event of that week's Monday Night Raw. That he could put on that kind of a show after that big of a loss gave me even more respect for him than I already had. Much love to one of the greatest legends in professional wrestling history, much credit to CVV for all the success and fantastic interviews as always, and thanks so much for reminding me of the guys who gave myself and so many others so many great childhood memories 🙏

Amazing to see Rey talk about his career in depth. My all time favourite from day 1. Still remember seeing him getting squashed by Khali and thinking he died.
I watched wrestling as a kid in the 80s but stopped around 1990. When i began watching WCW when the monday night wars got so mainstream and i first saw Mysterio wrestle I was in awe anyone could do this and he soon became one of my top three wrestlers. There's one specific Nitro match with Billy Kidman i've never forgot. He got Kidman on top of the turnbuckle and did a bulldog on him from there and while this might not seem like an amazing move now, at the time it was the coolest move i'd ever seen. Circumstances made it so I couldnt watch wrestling anymore by the early 2000s and i didnt see him when he came in the WWE but when i heard of the success he had there i was so glad.

I love that Chris got to interview Rey. He is my all-time favorite wrestler. The fact that this is episode 619 is perfect!
Rey will always be my childhood favourite. I was little and agile too. So when we wrestled as kids everyone else was like The Undertaker, Kane, Batista, Triple H, Edge... But I was the high flyer. 😅 Rey you made my childhood. I was always so excited to see you wrestle with your cool outfits and performing your outstanding moves.
I wanna meet Rey so bad… I wanna shake his hand and tell him how much he means to me and my favorite sport to watch since I was 5 years old (I’m 30 now). Eddie and Rey were the reason I fell in love with Pro Wrestling/Lucha Libre. Rey’s time in pro wrestling and everything he has done im sure makes Eddie proud wherever he is at. He would’ve loved to see Eddie conquer the indies like he did when he left WWE. Imagine Eddie and Rey in Lucha Underground? We miss you Eddie and we love you Rey. PRO WRESTLING IS LIFE 🫶
Man. I been watching these interviews for years now and somehow they just keep getting better. Good for you CVV! Keep it up.
Awww. When Rey asked to come back n talk about his career 😢💗🤗 he was Comfortable with You 💗
Chris, Great Episode. thank you 🤗🫡
Would you mind doing an Episode with Kevin Nash? Paul Heyman ? You gotta save Paul sneak him out 🤣
I've been looking forward to this the most of any of your interviews it's finally happening my favourite podcast host and my favourite wrestler of all time ❤
San Diego has always been proud of Rey🤝🏾
The WCW Cruiserweight division was legendary because of guys like Rey and Eddie
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT INTERVIEW! I grew up watching Rey from 1999 to current. When you two started saying "whose that Jumping out the Sky.." I had to finish the whole first 30 seconds of that theme!
man, Rey was my childhood hero growing up watching wwe. literally a real life spiderman. So thankful he's still around and performing at such a high level. Easily one of my favourite interviews CVV has done!
BOOYAKA !!!!!
I never realized how much I would love to see this go down. And never knew rey has been baby face his whole career if not most of it. Thank u CVV for having this interview with him. Perfect timing on what number interview/episode it is 😊😊
Amazing to see Rey talk about his career in depth. My all time favourite from day 1. Still remember seeing him getting squashed by Khali and thinking he died.
Let’s goooooo. Rey Mysterio is the GOAT!
Honestly, one of the nicest and sweetest dudes in wrestling. True legend.
It would have been amazing if this was 6 days earlier 😂
how so?

The best little man in wrestling history!
Rey is such a legend. such a humble guy! loved him from the first time I saw him at WCW... dang i'm old^^
Amazing interview! Rey is a legend!
