Can you please share how did you recover your orignal or backup media files. In my case i dont have any backup of those media files but it is extremely important to get those back . The libraries will be closed so that no work is lost.” And all my libraries within the application simply disappeared… I don't know what to do… Can you help me? Thank you very much

The solution basically to restore a 15 minutes earlier backup, as you showed it, helped me out. 👍 In 2024 I expect a program to suggest something like this automatically without crashing if s.th. is corrupted (it should not corrupt in the first place). I am really thinking to move do Davinci oder Adobe, I have the feeling, that Apple does not really put any effort in making Final Cut better ...

I edited the library last week and found one backup to open from last week but it didn't include the highlight file. All the older backups are from July when I initially started this library.
Any advice on what to do when you import media, and then immediately afterward, Final Cut freezes up and closes? When I reopened it, the imports I had done in the last couple hours were gone. When I looked up the Backup Libraries, the most recent one was from two days ago. But isn't it backing up constantly? Shouldn't there be a backup that is only an hour or two old, or am I crazy?

I had to do all this before and it worked but this time no luck. And I went to use the backup from the file menu but the latest backup was from March 6 and today is June 18. Not sure what happened or where it went. And time machine apparently isn't working on this. Help!
Do you have a video that shows how to make your files as small as possible when storing your videos after finishing ? So I keep mine on a hard drive all my original clips, final mp4 video and stuff but I’m always unsure what I can delete I.e proxy files and all the other random folders a project seems to create , and also what I should keep so I don’t get the dreaded exclamation ❗️

Thanks for this video! I am using FCP X 10.2.1. Twenty of my projects have disappeared from my library. I can see them in the package content, but I can not see them when I open final cut. g spent half a day and it's all lost didn't find it in projects, don't know what cause it the 10% battery or adding the compresor, the terminal tried to recover but couldn't and I thought macs were perfect don't know why the untitled still has 20GB. Just after trying to write my frustration I see it appeared, looks like you have to wait a bit like a few seconds if the project was to big. Thanks man

So what happens when you have multiple libraries created or I guess restored. I have created a mess now with multiple libraries. I made the mistake of trying to clean off older videos and somehow my latest was attached to those? Somehow I deleted 1.5 days of work on my latest videos.

Can you reimport the files from your camera card?

Unfortunately your project may be lost but you can rescue your media by right clicking on the library and selecting "Open Package".

You can move projects and events from one library to another and then delete your unnecessary library.
