Loona really said We about to give y'all ALL THE BLESSINGS/Vocals!! I love my ults so much, I'm so glad your listening to their new album, Love you Fifi!!! 💖
Your depiction of U R being played in a coffee shop during winter when it gets dark early makes me miss the UK! I really felt that listening to this and was reminded of my memories from uni 😭.
This comeback was definitely something new for Loona majority of the tracks did not have that typical loona sound but I like that they’re trying new things. U R is definitely my fav song in this album i listened to it for the first time in bed with my eyes closed it was everything 😍
im just really glad that we finally got jazz/funk influenced songs from loona ndkdndn its been long overdue and wow and be honest are definitely worth it
I can see 'Dance on My Own' doing really well on the radio in the states. 'A Different Night' and 'U R' my go to bed time music. This album is so good.
my top 3 are: 1. wow 2. PTT (this song is a GROWER, I can definitely see it becoming one of my fav loona songs.) 3. honestly I havent listened to the rest of the songs that much.. but probably be honest or U R
My Top 3 Picks 1. U R (it's just so smooth to my ears, I can listen to this 24/7) 2. Wow (I'm a sucker of jazzy/80's kind of bop) 3. A Different Night (I love the little build up towards the end and the sudden stop)
PTT is one of those Songs that just grows on you immensely after like 2 listens it’s so good😦 Edit: my fave song off the album is definitely WOW everything about it is just perfect✋😩
i really enjoyed this album, but i agree i would love more experimentation with the instrumentals. my ranking of the bsides would be: - 1. u r (lo-fi r&b goodness yup) - 2. be honest (it kinda felt like a rv song, and i thought it was a fun song) - 3. Different night (a cute little ballad) - 3. wow ( it's so fun and jazzy and vocally it was so good) - 4. Dancing on my own ( it was meh, i could definitely hear melanie fontana's influence and im not the biggest fan of her work but the vocals were good and it was still cute.)
Completely agree with you in regards to Melanie Fontana, I’m not really a fan of her writing either but she’s good at writing catchy and easy to listen to songs so I can I understand why people like her!
This album really let their vocals shine through and I loved I!. They were very creative with the vocal harmonies and melodies! I loved all the tracks. My only complaint is that the bridge of 'Be Honest' should have been elongated into a complete song of its own😤 That part was so good I just can't get enough of it. My top 3 would be...urghh why is it always so hard to choose?! For the moment, my top 3 would be UR, PTT and Dance on my Own.
im sooo glad they went the more melodical route, is way more in-tune with the original LOONA sound (not counting pre-debut which was pretty insane in terms of diversity). compared to 12:00, this is much better, i dont think i have an "skip" which is nice even tho im not the biggest DOMO fan compared to the english counterpart "Star" on 12:00 :p. While i LOVE "Why Not?" i think that 12:00 was a bit too safe, "&" is above "#" as well for me, PTT and WOW (holy cow WOW) go really hard in the production haha, OT12 just HITS with a difference force. edit: yeah PTT is one hell of a grower lmao
1.U R 2. Be Honest 3. PTT/A Different Night (I really cannot decide). PTT has such an awesome intro (so does WOW btw) that makes you drop whatever your doing. I can see it having that effect.
Nice!, I definitely felt this album went a little back to previous Loona if that makes sense, I think my favorites are WOW, Be honest and Ptt, but I like them all (PS: Universe was performed at the concert and it was one of the best things that have ever happened and I indeed cried ngl)
PTT grows really hard, I might like it more than Why Not though I liked Why Not's mv more. I wish it carried that (major scale?) sound from the first verse more throughout it was so heroic. WOW is immaculate, it felt very Loona to me, right at home next to Puzzle and Favorite. That and UR are definitely highlights of the album and wished they leaned harder into that sound they do that vintage R&B and jazzy sound so well. Their former A&R Jaden Jeong was crazy but has a pretty immaculate taste in music it's definitely frustrating the newer albums are a bit safer though # fares well under Lee Soo Man. I do enjoy seeing them execute whatever they're given. Hopefully their Japanese album coming up will have more synth again
This is such a common misconception, that’s actually been bothering me a lot lately. Look up what songs monotree actually produced/composed for loona and it’s shorter/ less impactful then u might think. Eclipse, Stylish, Satellite, Seesaw, Rosy, love4eva, Eclipse, Girl Front, Egoist, Colors, Singing in the rain, Heat, Love Choerry Motion, You and Me Together, New, Chaotic, etc All of those songs were NOT produced by monotree, but you can’t tell me any of those same songs are void of having loona’s “signature sound”.
@@dvxxl oh wait ur right I guess i need to change my statement to what they were doing before. I think because my first sub unit release was max and match which made me obsessed woth uncover and sweet crazy love made me think most of their are produced by monotreme thanks for the clarification.
Overall, I liked the album but my expectations with LOONA are always off the roof. I understand they need to lean to a more mainstream sound and it's not that I dislike what they're doing but I'm not enjoying this as much as their previous albums. Regardless I look forward for what they will bring in the future.
i feel the same as you… even though i like be honest too cuz it reminds me of the second generation of kpop and i miss them so much, so i was kinda happy listening to loona singing a song like this. dance on my own is too generic for loona in my opinion; i loved the whole album but it - star is much better as their english song.
This Album is a full grower for me, Great songs but in context of LOONA, it's different in a way that I needed more listens compared to the Instant Love for + +, × ×, and 12:00 for me. # needed a few more listens but Most of the songs were instant Love. Definitely a grower album, but still somehow miss some of the signatures sounds of LOONA, not saying it's not present here but felt like they were fewer. Nevertheless, they were all good songs, nothing less from LOONA as always.
PTT and Be Honest are such growers it's insane. PTT is just too hype and fun, and Be Honest is kinda of batshit insane the more you hear the random shit hidden in the production.

I'm with a faction of the fandom who are bummed by the musical direction of LOONA. - clearly they're trending for a mainstream sound. I sorely miss the creative direction of Jaden Jeong. I will say that the # project was very successful even without Jaden involved. I'm still gonna stan to the end. I'll just listen to everything before 12:00. STAN LOONA
I agree that their sound has definitely changed ... I expressed how I felt underneath another comment here but when I first started reacting to LOONA I fell in love with them cos they were so different ... it was a whole new experience but 12:00 and & didn’t give me anything I haven’t already heard from other Groups ... the songs are good but it’s definitely not the same. Like you said tho I will also continue to support them in whichever journey they decide to take! Also it’s interesting cos I still feel like # definitely still had the loona sound so what changed for these last 2 albums? 🤔
@@fifizappareacts tbh i feel like the company just doesnt really know what to do with them anymore, they picked up the loonaverse again but musically after monotree and bbc didnt work together again i dont think they found out how to maintain that flare

Ok so when I first heard the album, for me WOW & Be honest did not sound like a loona song because it seems like it was taken from a mamamoo/red velvet album. But the more I listen, both these songs along with U R are my favs. It's not I necessarily think they have that loona sounds(WOW & Be honest) but I love it because it is sung by loona. Because of how I can now distinguish the members in songs it feels like any song they put out will be a loona song😅 My ranking would be 1. U R 2. WOW 3. Be honest
That’s interesting cos WOW is by far the most loona sounding track on this whole album imo lol it reminds me of their earlier songs, including some of the solo b sides!
Yeah Loona's older music was mainly produced by Monotree so they have the best approximation of what the "loona sound" is where these newer producers seem to take their cues from the newer title tracks...unfortunately Monotree and loona's company won't work together anymore for some reason. BBC is never good at figuring out what the fans want..
I'm just slightly dissapointed with this album. PTT would be nice if the chorus wasn't what it is. There are no "absolute bangers" like in the previous ones. Except UR - it's a gem. And it reminds me of "loser" by Big Bang
As someone who enjoys Lo-Fi I'm so happy we got sad Loona beats to chill and study to
Universe got a twin sister now
Actually 12:00 is really good for studiying also for me , but when hide and seek plays , i forgot about my homework and dance instead😭
NOBODY eats up a ballad chorus like Kim Lip... Her voice is just so perfect for it, so much longing in her voice! 🥺
true
'A Different Night' sits on the same table as 'Universe' and 'Where You At'. Watching this performed in the concert made me cry 😭.
100% YES!
I honestly dont like ballads, but like the loona ballads that you said along with let me in, around you, one way, and 365 just hits different
Something about gowons vocals on u r fits so well it’s just *chef kiss*
it was just revealed, like now, that Be Honest was supposed to be in # album, they're live in twitter blue room btw.

The ppl who worked on a different night & U R are known to make ballads for many kdramas
I feel like in their past releases, the productions match or overshadow their vocals. But this album showcased more of their vocals.
I can see 'Dance on My Own' doing really well on the radio in the states. 'A Different Night' and 'U R' my go to bed time music. This album is so good.
i genuinely think UR is one of my favourite loona songs. it's so perfect.
i’m obsessed with U R since it reminds me of another loona song i love - Fairy Tale by loona 1/3 😭 can’t wait for you to hear it!! you’ll love it
Agreed.. this album has less Loona-ness than any past albums. It's still nice though.
my top 3 bsides from this album
