  • This is part one of making a platform to fit a space you can't change. We go from how to make the template, how to measure the curve at one end, how to get a good distance from the platform edge to the train.
The chosen station building is from scale scenes,( www.scalescenes.com) as the best for my set up. I have also bought from them a plate girder bridge and a signal box but making them is another story.
    Hope you enjoy.

Hi Cary, thanks for your nice comment. I have just made a ticket office but not as my drawing as I adapted another cardboard building but with a bit of tweaking in situ, I think it will be OK. Take care over there...........Barry.

Great video Barry and a great choice of station building, which will fit nicely. The whole station will look good when you have finished it. I am due another update, maybe Tues or Wed as I have just a few things to finish off first. I think you will see a difference., since my last update. Anyway keep up the good work and stay safe my friend. All the best ..............Geoff

Hi Geoff, looking forward to your layout update. You know, having to stay indoors due to being over a certain age, I thought I would get tons done on my layout, but NO. Where has all that time gone, Oh hang on a minute, I'll ask my lovely wife? Keep safe Geoff........Barry

Hi Dave, your not wrong. The magic judgement is a mix of what is true to life and what looks good as viewed by a visitor. Gormo in Aus bases a lot of his layout on the 3ft rule. If it looks believable at 3ft, that's chipper. Take care Stig & Dave..........Barry
