@@bucktalesoutdoors7566 Thanks Don!! Me either until Thad Caught that one, then I saw that HUGE black one swinging by, so now I’ve got to go back after him!! Thanks for coming along brother!!
They are some mean looking fish! I usually carry gloves to hold on to them better. Man the scales will tear up your hands if you are not careful too. Thanks for coming out brother!!
Hey man, I'm the one who accommodated you on your internet earlier, I just wanna say, you do have wonderful videos man. Just keep up, I hope your channel will be as big as outdoor boys someday. Also already subscribed with your channel. Keep making cool videos man🤗
Thanks so much brother! Man I love making video's and thanks for the help! I hope you get your channel started soon and have tons of fun adventures!! I'll be looking out for it and thanks for the Sub!!😁
I've never caught a gar before. We used to see them in South Carolina at Lake Murray when I was a kid, and they were HUGE. We'd be fishing from the bank and these things would come by, 7 or 8 in a pack, anywhere from 2 to 5 feet long. They were terrifying. And I've only seen one black one in the wild. It swam right by me at about 6 inches from the bank. Super clear water, just this black noodle cruising past. It stuck its nose out of the water for a breath right in front of me. Scared me to death. Cool video. Looks like you guys had a blast.
Man they do look like monsters!! These one's were the first black one's I had ever seen also. They looked so cool cruzing up and down the shoreline like they didn't have a care in the world, but eating and acting like a Boss..lol..I would like to go back and catch some more, but between the scoarching heat and the really bad sulfer smell I think I might wait till it cools off some. Thanks for watching Brother!!
I have never seen a black one! I fish for them up here at Lanier every summer. I think they don't get enough respect as a game fish. I tie a special jig for them and it works great.
@@FCPFishing Man you have some Awesome gar fishing videos Dana!! I have never fished for them with a jig. Only cutbait and rope..🤣🤣..Like you I think they are very underrated as a sport fish, probably because they are so hard to hook, I don’t think most like the challenge, but I say bring it ON!!🤣🤣🎣🎣
Thanks brother!! It was behind the dam at lake tobo. There were some nice one's back there, but the whole place smelled like Sulphur, it was nasty that day..lol
I have heard it too, but I have never met anyone that they have bit. I try to be really carful with them, plus their scales will cut your hands when they jerk and I should have brought gloves.
@@JohnAmes They are a great sport fish and tough as nails too!! I might do a catch, clean, cook on one. They are great eating too. Just not a ton of meat for as big as they are..😁
Whoa ! Never seen a black Gar before ! You and Thaddeus put it on em ! Good stuff Lance !!!

😆..I think you are right! He was like "Nope!!" lolol
That was a beast, man. Awesome stuff. I only caught two gar as a kid in FL and I was scared to death to take the first one off the hook, haha.
