Fantastic video! I wholeheartedly agree with all of the points made and this was extremely useful for me! An argument to pick mathematics is that you often don't need to have a CS degree to get into SWE but not the other way round. I do of course agree that doing CS and going directly into SWE is way more lucrative and better if the end goal is to work as a software engineer. On a more personal level I'm pursuing a degree in mathematics and complementing with some CS courses and hobby projects, with the idea that mathematics has more opportunities if I want to go down a different path later down the line.
