      The league has lacob to thank for the nba outlawing buying rings, which is what he did for curry, and it's why the warriors dynasty was a checkbook dynasty, which makes it a fake dynasty.

    Steph's not wrong. The NBA has become a league where it has become super hard to repeat as champions now that there is more parity than ever. The 2021 Bucks and the 2022 Warriors have a lot to do with that narrative. Plus the new CBA is also playing a major role in why there may not be a repeat champion for a long time.

      He actually is wrong. Some smart GM will find a way at some point in time. Every time a dynasty ends we ask this question, and eventually another one comes around. Dynasties are rare, rules change, and nothing is forever.

    The key thing here is the CBA made it impossible to keep super teams together now! Even if Jeff Bezos buys the Celtics, is even he really gonna be cool with paying +$800M/year in salary to be competitive?! 😅 💰 🏆

    • @BunnyP3
      @BunnyP3 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      For superteams, yes, damn near impossible. Those days of calling your friends and teaming up in Miami are gone. However, if you draft correctly like the Warriors, its still possible to build a dynasty. Look at OKC, they are young and if they can add the correct pieces (not necessarily a superstar or just one), they have a good chance of becoming a dynasty.

      @@BunnyP3 Having a deep bench can also offset the lack of a Big 3 like we've seen. If you're getting some level of production offensively/defensively no matter the minutes afforded you are likelier to go deep then a team that relies on 1-2 super stars and then gets absolutely torn to shreds the second that injury you prayed against all season happens. People don't like it for fantasy purposes but eff em, there's no reason a player should be playing 95%+ of minutes in a blowout. I see too often teams trade a cavalcade of bench players in the hopes of grabbing that 1 key starter or even bench starter, almost being terrified to develop their back end prospects.

      @@BunnyP3It doesn’t matter how well you draft and you correctly decide to pay this new CBA is designed to break up teams after 3-4 years unless those teams starting winning chips on their rookie contracts. No NBA teams has ever won a chip with majority of their core on the rookie scale.
      After the 4th year in the 2nd apron the teams 1st rd picks falls to 30th so if a team has 3 picks in the 1st it could be 28th, 29th, 30th even if one of those picks was from a trade that ended up being the 1st pick overall.

    NBA teams only have 12 players suited up, and only 5 starters, obviously. While there is more parity than ever in the league, it's still a game that allows you to get good, really quickly, and stay good longer. There will definitely be more 3-5 year runs. Not to say that it's easy, but the odds are better in the NBA because one player can really tip the scale. In other sports, a player can be the best at his/her position, but it's much more difficult to be dominant all-around because most pitchers don't hit, most QB's don't play linebacker, and goalies are largely stationary and don't score at all. There are role players in the NBA too, for sure, but one player can affect the overall outcome more frequently.

The second reason why it won't happen is that as the salary of the top contacts keeps increasing, the more these stars are going to turn into mercenaries each time their contract is up for dispute. There will be all kinds of all-time great players and all sorts of dynasties in the next 20-30 years. The league doesn't want actual parity, they want the appearance of parity. That's what all the pro Leagues do. The reason is because more people tune in to watch teams they don't follow if that team is one they really want to see win or really want to see lose. GSW blew up everything because it wasn’t just the luxury tax penalty. It’s going to be impossible to create longevity and continuity anymore. At least for a while.
    Ofc going to 2 Finals in 3 years, to me, means that the Celtics already are in the midst of a dynasty, but I don’t see them repeating. They give off Spurs dynasty energy to me. IF they’re that lucky bc 2003-2014, the Spurs had essentially the same core three players. Winning 2 championships in a row is not a dynasty if you don't win another one. You are only a dynasty if you win 3 of 4, or 4 of 6, or more than 2 in a row. Any team can have a great 2 year stretch.
