I have the same scar, however my scar is darker and bigger. Therefore, I understand why she wants it covered because people tend to stare at it instead of you. I don't plan to cover it during my big day. It's part of me and my testimony.

Her scar looks wonderful. It’s apart of her testimony. Also, that surgeon did an incredible job. It’s small and the skin is not discolored and dead. I think she should embrace it and love it because that scar is what kept her alive. But I do understand having an insecurity. She and the scar are gorgeous.
I don't think it's an insecurity-- she just doesn't want the scar to pull attention on her wedding day. If she were really insecure about the scar, she wouldn't be so calmly talking about it and showing it on TV. I agree that the surgeon did a wonderful job.

I'm hoping she got over the scar issue because I don't think people will be looking at it and the strap looked better where it was originally. She looked so beautiful that the scar didn't stand out.

I was born with a CHD and have had several open heart surgeries throughout the years. I totally get wanting to cover the scar, especially on her special day. Although I have gained so much confidence and love my scar now(and I personally don’t think I will intentionally cover it. Although it will probably be covered, because I love high neck dresses), I have read some comments about how a necklace or some makeup could cover it or how she should just rock it, because it’s small/not too noticeable. But it’s so much harder than that. It might take her a while to get used to it and that’s ok. All that matters is that she feels beautiful on her wedding day and if a dress that covers her scar is going to have her feeling her best, then I say good for her for knowing what she’ll feel good and comfortable in. I used to get asked a lot about my scar, so I get feeling like people will focus more on your scar than you. She looked lovely in that dress(and that price blew my mind)! I hope she has/had an amazing wedding.

Update for those who are curious: I looked the bride up on Facebook, and she ended up leaving the strap as it was and just putting a small necklace over the scar!
Her scar is a testament of how strong she is! She has fought a hard fight and she overcame her battle. I hope she becomes more comfortable with her scar and embrace it.

There is another place like this in Mechanicsville, NY call brides and more. I bought my dress there for about $200. They sell prom/ bridesmaids dresses as well.

That’s awesome. I had multiple surgeries myself growing up. I had a large 8 lbs tumor in my stomach, i also had my appendix ruptured and almost died. Had 5 surgeries in total so far so I have a long scare from the middle of my breast all the way to the bottom of my stomach. For years I never wore a bikini, or a crop top. Nothing that exposed my stomach because I was so insecure about my scare. Now I don’t care, my scares don’t me at all.

carmay3600 not if your artist uses an alcohol based makeup, which is smudge and sweat proof.

She chose a very beautiful dress which really showed off her lovely figure. So nice she could get it at a good price!
Her scar just isn't that bad, really, but if SHE is self-conscious about it, I can understand her wanting to minimize it.
That said, my wedding dress would have covered 80% of an open-heart surgery scar, and my three older sisters' wedding dresses would have covered such a scar completely. There aren't many options for brides who don't want to show cleavage or half their back nowadays, at least not on these shows.

As someone who has a pretty visable scar on my back, I can totally understand why she felt more comfortable covering up the scar. She looks beautiful with or without her scar showing, but if she feels more confident with her scar covered up, then she should pick a dress that covers her scar.
Because when she thinks somebody's not looking they really are they may not even say anything but the eyes will
@@troybolton6444 Exactly. I have multiple scars from a big surgery and even if others don't notice or care, it still bothers me sometimes. It really doesn't matter what others think. That I agree with. But people forget that how we feel does matter.
In regards to filming I do believe the procedure had recently happened there for I can understand her mindset with regards to her scar

I hollered when she gave the price of that dress. the back of that dress is beautiful and when the strap was moved it became even more alluring. I am so glad that girl said yes to that dress.

I didn't even notice the scar but I do understand how she feels., in time the scar will be no big deal. But being so fresh it does matter. The dress is gorgeous. Moving the strap over will make a big difference. A drop necklace would take away the beauty of the dress
I love this. I see the pain in mum though. It doesn't matter how old your kids gets, they are always your baby. This mother just got through the worst fear of her life as well as the bride. Love to them both xxx

After seeing so many episodes where family members and friends wanted their picks rather than the bride's happiness, or said cruel things about someone they were supposed to love, it was so refreshing to see how loving and supportive her mom, cousin, and friend were. All they wanted was for her to love her gown and feel comfortable with coverage for her scar.

I think the scar is so small compared to some I've seen in weddings that I have attended. I understand her point of view and I just wanted to say that she is gorgeous with or without the scar.

Folks!!! A talented makeup artist could hide the scar with "cover up " make up. We have to do with whit tattoos all the time

you can buy cover up makeup online at lots of websites... not to mention tutorials on youtube. color matching would be her only issue.

I'm so glad I taught my daughter that she is beautiful with her scars. She is a teenager, with one lung. And she is very confidant. Wears her scars, even in bikinis, as a testimony of her being a walking miracle.
