When I was maybe 11 or 12 years old my auntie found this CD and knowing I was a fan of heavy she brought it to me and I've been grateful for that ever since. One of the best discoveries ever and Mastodon inspired me to be a musician and free
@@slip1973a well first off i think hes completely burned out and he has said that he would rather be doing a normal day job than be in the music industry (he could have been joking tho) and it seems like he wants mastodon to go more in a prog rock orientated path rather than prog/sludge metal which i wouldn't mind tbh
I can't believe the video ended on the last note of Quintessence. That part gives me chills it's so good. Watching these guys play just reaffirms my love for making and playing music. Thank you Mastodon!
It would be great that you guys come here to South America and specifically to Colombia! You guys rock, by far this is my favorite album from Mastodon!
Its impressive how time goes by. This guys were so young, and so was I. To listen to this album (top 5 of my favorites albums of all time) it's to remember past days and remember the people that are gone. Everytime a listen I get the same feeling. It's hard to explain. Just... "Spiraling up through the crack in the sky Leaving material world behind I see your face in constellations"
Mastodon was good early one, Leviathan was heavy as hell and a killer album... But crack the Skye is peak Mastodon. Still metal enough, no excess material, the right amount of prog to be compelling but not wanky. Honestly a top 20 metal album of all time, and one of my favorites growing up
Apparently playing drums just keeps you from aging past 25. Troy’s completely grey, Brent looks like a wizard, Bill cut off the mullet, but Brann looks exactly the fucking same
Little did they know how well this album would be received
This album speaks to me in a way that I don’t think any other album ever has, or will again. Magnificent.
why?
@@The-Punnkk It beams out on a cosmic plasmatic frequency that vibrates in synchrony with my energy aerial array. Plus dank riffs.
Have you seen the new Rammstein video for song Deutschland? It's freaking amazing

I think Brann is a vampire! He didn't change a bit!! Still looks exactly the same as back then

Best rock album of the 21st century!
Absolutely
Thus far at least
@@jbasti227 do you like Maiden and The Melvins, Porcupine Tree?
Best rock album
Look at 2008/09 Brent, man. Got his glasses on, in front of a globe, speaking words, english words...hmmmm
I know! Its funny but kinda sad.... Back when he was happy with the band... I think they need to take a break tbh
@@tunlaw3076 why would you think he isn't happy with the band?

@@tunlaw3076 man, a more prog rock oriented rock is exactly what they have been doing for the last 10 years.
@@germanandreagiri3079 no. They've been doing prog metal. cold dark place is prog rock
Everyone's aged... except Brann of course. Who knows how old he is. 25? 35? 105? He's like The Doctor.
OMG Brann is a Time Lord!!!
Only Brent looks like he's 68 :P
And I think that's on purpose, like he wants to look like an old Hermit Magician lol :D

Can you imagine being a band renting a space in that building at the same time Mastodon is writing Crack The Skye? Fuck.
This this the most sober and serious Brent have ever been in front of camera
3:46 didn't know Seth Rogan joined the band
This is band and Gojira I find inspirational because they've done almost everything by themselves.

You should upload live performances of that tour, that would be great.
This is aaaaaaaaaaawsomeeeeeeee!
Please come to Europe with this tour!
This is awesome

I'm never going to be able to watch them live.
Mastodon the best band
Good God. LOL, Effing Brann. Cruising around in that Twinkle Toes Caddy. That dude walks the walk.
You can see the artwork used in 10.000 days by Tool at 2:04

Joe Rogan
