Just placed an order for the 40 pounder. I'm replacing the Danby that I had for 12 or so years that was absolutely run the heck out of. I never did a program clean on it and for the first 10 years ran it out in my shed, no ac/heat. I kept the inside clean and at the end and beginning of summers I ran a tank full of vinegar water through it that ate the chrome off of the chillers and it kept working. I ran everything except toilet water though it. All non filtered, never distilled or bottled water. It ran like new until yesterday. It did develope a leak on the bottom a year ago but just a drip. When I moved it this morning to toss it, a quarter sized piece of rust fell on the shop floor in the area of the leak. Looked to me that the water pump just gave out. I started looking for that exact machine but Danby does not make that model anymore. The 40lbs of ice got my attention so I went for this Eutomy. The Danby, I believe was a 26 lb icemaker and was enough but not quite. I always wanted just a bit more. I use my ice for coolers and not in glasses or drinks so I don't care about minor impurities though I will take better care of the new Eutomy. I also make Larger blocks of ice in my chest freezer first filling the plastic containers with cubes from the icemaker, topping it off with water, cover and freeze for a day. The cube help it off to a great head start and making blocks becomes real fast. As of today, I paid 229 from Amazon, free delivery. If it last half of what the Danby did I'll be happy, just worried somewhat about the cube size. Also, when just starting to make cubes, start with chilled water, I usually get it from the drain in the cooler or let a few cycles of cube drop down into the water and not into the basket. It will chill the water and helps make harder faster early ice.
Bro I lost my head when you showed me your fridge!!! I’m about to buy this ice make because I bought this fridge new about six months ago and haven’t had ice. I FEEL YOUR PAIN
@mk smith ? What, you live in a barn? I've had mine in operation 24/7 for 1-year and have yet to clean anything but wipe down the insides once a month. The fans and coils still look spotless. Little PC compressed air in a can would take care of any little dust buildup IMHO. Insanely reliable and great little unit for the cheap price.
I did read the directions (grudgingly) but found your video a great way to pick out the most important instructions to get the icemaker up and running quickly. Many thanks. Well done!
We just got ours a few days ago. The ice maker in our fridge never worked properly, and after multiple service appointments and no results, we bought this! So far, the only down side is that the ice is really wet, so it sticks to itself. We put it in a bag and break it up first.
David's Focus Yes you can. It has a max fill line and will stop making ice when it gets to that level. Once the ice melts a bit it will make more to keep full
My 18 y.o. Kenmore Elite decided to stop producing 🧊, but is a champ otherwise. We use lots of ice, So I picked this up for $99 and promptly tossed the directions before using it😲😫.... thanks a bunch for your demo & review. Is it still running well?

Same here. Spent $3k on the LG fridge with poor ice production including craft ice. I have to buy an ice maker as a substitute.
Awesome review and video.
Seen this model on Amazon and was thinking of getting it for my workshop, you sealed the deal for me to order.
Thanks!

Got it today and set up , I love this little ice maker!
Thank you for this ! The instructions were printed so small that my Mom couldn’t read them !
Thanks for the video! We bought this due to the same crappie Ice machine in our similar fridge (samsung). Design flaw for sure! Thanks again
Just ordered one, Good Review........Thanks 🙂
Thank you for showing me exactly what to do
I just got mine. It does a great job.
Hi, how do you like the ice maker now? After using it for a while. Thanks
It's not hard to clean.
Your ice came out way thicker on the first go. Mine came out so dissolvable thin and continue to do so.
You are supposed to let the icemaker sit for 24 hours before use and if it tilts to the side or upside down it could break it..
thanks for the video! Can you keep it turned on all the time?

T
Just bought one
Question, can you leave the ice in there and it will stay frozen or do you have to take it out or else it will melt? Thanks!
It will slowly melt, but as it does it will add more
Thanks great video 🥶
Is it soft to chew and easily crushed?
Yeah, usually it is
I just got mine! 😃
tendran el manual en español que me puedan proporcionar por favor
The poor design of the Samsung ice maker brought me here. Thanks for the video.
Thx
My water is missing the reservoir
I think they were just trying to get fancy with the name portable and intentionally named it PRO TABLE (PROTABLE).
My box is spelled correctly...lol
Gonzalez Richard Lopez Michael Harris Amy
Gonzalez Nancy Jackson David White John
"PROTABLE." Yes, it is definitely made in China😂.
😂
