I've loved Larry Carltons smooth guitar playing for over 30 years! First heard him on Steely Dan records, notably my favourite being Third World Man! Of his solo albums " On Solid Ground, particularly his version of LAYLA" stands out ! .............. Apparently he was shot & almost died, after recovering he recorded "On Solid Ground" an album I LOVE! God Bless You Larry Carlton, you have brightened my world! May your music live FOREVER as it should!
Third world man is sublime and his solo is perfection...incredible. Conor Kennedy, who is now playing with Steely Dan told me his favorite solo to play is Third world man!

Third World Man is also my favorite off Gaucho. The mood that Larry sets is beyond comprehension. Second to Don't Take Me Alive on all the SD records.
