Ohhhhh, you're that "first time Dead Cells" fella! Glad you like the game! Just letting you know that I ALMOST beat 5BC because of the inspiration your previous video left me with, keep it up man!
Something super important that I don't think you mentioned is that slowly draining orange part of your health bar when you get hit. If you deal damage while that's up you'll regain some of that HP. The more damage you do before it meets up with the green part, the more you regain. Dead Cells really rewards an aggressive playstyle and since you lean towards brutality (same) it's definitely something worth leaning into. Loving the videos, congrats on clearing 0BC!

Soo advice 1)wolf traps are good... some bosses can be rooted, and some are just stuck for 5 seconds, with their back wide open. 2)Ironclad outfit unlocks a pack of cards item, which you cycle for various effects, one of the effects is "block a hit" and it recharges every 8 enemies killed. The blocked hit, can save you from getting one shot by curse. 3) You max out one stat, and when you get the split scroll that makes you choose between the other two stats, you choose whatever gives you more hp. 4) Rolling or hitting a door while an enemy is next to it will break the door and stun the enemy. 5) Please do full clears, you will get more money, more cells, and might even find scrolls you missed... 6) Some op comboes - Baseball bat with survival( green scrolls), necromancy mutation makes clearing levels easy, and wolf traps give you crits for 5 second, bonk away... panchacku, red, mutations - combo, freeze and bleed on hit mutation... you can outdps certaun bosses with this.
Instead of panchacku I use that knife that deal crit damage to bleeding or poisoned enemies use the bleeding mutation and the card item to deal poison damage for every melee attack

Amazing video, the commentary and editing was great. If you're going to continue playing, here's some tips: 1. Use shields and learn to parry enemies, it'll help you immensely as you can play it safe while dealing extreme damage at the same time. 2. There's another boss to fight. All I'll say is go into the big door and then beat conjunctivius and find a new thing. 3. Invest in legendary forge, it's very useful especially in higher bsc.
You can hit or roll through doors to stun the enemies behind them, and a goot tip for parry is when you see the ! Above the enemie click the shield button, you need to wait for projectile (do the same for rolling of you don't want to parry or don't have a shield)
Congrats on beating the tutorial man. I got a tip for weapons like firebrands, throwing knife, boomerang, etc(mainly small ranged weapons). If you goto your settings and turn on “hold to attack”. With small ranged weapons like firebrands in the X button slot, you have hold your X & Y buttons at the same time, you will do double the damage. Certain other weapons will let you attack with other weapons, if you enjoy the game you’ll find more of these unique weapons, I’m glad you had fun.
I like how you comment and edit it's really really fun, and also, if you liked this game so much that I'm not sure, I recommend to you playing it A LOT, because it's extremely challenging, it has a lot of content, and fun, it would be very fun if Dead Cells becomes one of the principal games in this channel. Keep it up man, this channel is NICE Edit: Worth to say that the blood sword is a very very good weapon, the bleeding does lots of damage, and also, you can activate vengeance with the "frontal flask" that does 5 damage to you and doesn't break your kill streak, that's a VERY good combination, bc vengeance is op
Why is noone talking about the parrying? In my opinion the rogue-like with the absolute most satisfying parrying. A million different shields that each have their own perfect parry effect **chefs kiss**
I recommend buying all dlcs, because it gives you a lot of biome and boss variety. You also get loads more items, enemies and just a ton of more stuff to play with. As a tip for weapons, if you see for example a blood sword III and a blood sword V as in the vid but the III has a better effect, it’s usually a better idea to pick up the V because you can reroll the weapon’s effects but you can’t reroll the weapons level
this video is amazing. Everything from the vibes, to the editing, to the music. I was shocked when I looked down and only saw 12k subscribers cause this is a high quality video and if all of them are this good it deserves recognition.

Mint, I know you are allergic to shields, but if you ever try to go for the later new game cycles with boss cells please start learning how to parry 😊. Other than that congrats on beating HoTK 🎉
Just a bit of a tip: that item you found at 30:52, the face flaks, will cause you to be hit, meaning you can use vengeance for an easy damage and damage reduction buff. Also works on non-legendary versions of the item. Hope this helps! Helped me with a lot of runs
For your first mutation, dont take combo, just press up and take the very last one. Its a spare life, you can use your first death as knowledge on whether or not the run is "worth continuing" im a noob, but just something someone told me. I love the fact that you are trying to learn shields, armadillopack is great.
just beat the kings throne boss yesterday if you have trouble beating the game it is likely due to not having all of you're permanent runes, go into assist mode until you beat all the bosses for them, trust me if I did that it would have saved me a LOT of time
I hope you comeback to this game again, I'm almost certain that you'll love it, there's almost thousands of builds. Your commentary makes this so much fun. Also you should definitely buy the dlc, it adds so much more stuff
Don’t go for time doors, and make sure to use shields, you just need to parry when the exclamation mark pops up. 1bc is probably the easiest part of the game, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble with it. Also, face flask is amazing, you just need to use vengeance and you get a huge buff that has really high uptime
That’s not entirely true. Many enemies, like the ravager for example, will display a ! when they are going to begin their attack animation but don’t actually attack until they reach the player. Similarly, on low difficulty, the green zombies display a ! When they are about to leap at the player, but the parry window is not until the model reaches the player. Assassins have very long attack windups as well to try and throw off your parry. The truth is you have to learn every enemies attacks and parry windows and the ! Is pretty useless. Hell, there’s plenty of attacks that display ! That cannot be parried at all. I find the sound of attacks to be a MUCH more reliable indicator for parries.
BRO, at the beginning of the video where he opens the jar, I got so stoked to see the soul knight reference, I played that game a whole lot, and to know that Soul Knight had also collabed with Dead Cells is just sooo cool, but this is such a nice video tho, I love it! Edit: I'm watching more into the video AND I SAW THE SKULL REFERENCE, IT'S THE SWITCH IN WHEN YOU USE LITTLE BONE AHHH!! i wanna play dead cells now!!!!🙏😭
Also fun fact, Dead Cells has also collabed with an indie game called "Skull" and the main character you play as in dead cells can be unlocked during gameplay in Skull, the character named "The Prisoner" really nice touch, the collabed game is sorta part of a trio, more of a one way triangle, because in Skull, the game refers to the main character of dead cells (haven't played dead cells, so I don't know the characters name :I) as the name he's referred to in Soul Knight, so that's really cool, I've only really played Skull and Soul Knight but this is still really cool :)
@@memeboi2137I LOVE SKUL you should try Dead Cells, its so fun! btw the dead cells character has some names, King, prisoner or Headless, theres also Bob but is other character
22 was not that bad, I expected a lot more once you said you went double digits hahaha hope you keep on playing Dead Cells to see how far you can go. Also... yeah, it sucks that the game teases you will all the door levels you cannot go into, but the DLC are completely worth it :) Thanks for the video!
Seeing the shield in your inventory just absolutely rot away without ever being used to parry is breaking my soul. It would've probably made it easier for you to beat those fishermen you've always had trouble with.
Congrats, you unlocked Hard mode ! Next step, Very Hard. After that, Expert. Then, Nightmare. And finally, Hell, and the True Final Boss. I also recommend getting the DLCs, they are a very nice change of pace.
someone correct me if i’m wrong, but i think time keeper got shredded bc the +60% damage to bleeding targets on your fire grenade also applied to the fire on the ground, which paired perfectly with blood sword
you know if you roll through doors or break them you'll actually stun enemies on the other side. while it might be slightly faster to open them, it provides a great advantage to roll through them because then you can beat enemies like this 14:08 without taking a hit
Just a bit of mutation advise: vengance goes crazy on pretty much any build, but face flask makes it god tier. Support is also god tier on any build, because it is pretty much a permenant +15 or more percent damage on bosses.
dude i just realized how entertaining you are this is the first time i watched a gameplay video longer than 30 minutes last time i watched was probably 3 years ago. Also how many hours did it take you to beat dead cells?
There’s a parry shield in silt village which you’ll need an extra key at the end of right which you need the ram rune. Good for helping you get in those parries
for the rose you need to kill an elite in the sewers for the teleportation rune (the "electric rocks") after you get that you need to go back to the promenade, use the rune, and go to the ossuary from there you kill another elite and go back to the sewers once there you find the breakable floor rock and go to the ancient sewers just go through that to the insufferable crypt, through that and to the slumbering sanctuary there you fight another boss that gives you the rune for you to then go BACK to the promenade and finally climb the wall (yes you need to do ALL that for it)
My favorite build was having the mutation where you can put a shield in your back pack so when you roll it parrys, a tanky close range weapon, and maybe a bow or a support. also brutality (red) all the way
I’d really enjoy it if you made more Dead Cells content, maybe some one color only runs if you’re looking for a challenge? Or the DLCs? You just make it so enjoyable to watch
You really gotta learn parries man. Once you do the Pirate Captain becomes fodder. My Approach is to close the distance as fast as i can so he can't shoot out those cannon balls and just parry him if i dont kill with my melee weapon.
The pirates would be a lot less annoying if you learned to parry. Simply get close to him and parry his melee attack. He also gets stunned giving you a lot of time to hit him.
Try to get the armadillopack mutation, blueprit drops from those dudes with thorns on their back who damage you if you hit them from the behind. It is really good for survivability.
If your going to continue this awesome series you should totally get the dlcs they are totally worth it and add so much especially in terms of weapons. They also add options if you want to avoid areas.

@@memeboi2137I LOVE SKUL
you should try Dead Cells, its so fun! btw the dead cells character has some names, King, prisoner or Headless, theres also Bob but is other character
It would've probably made it easier for you to beat those fishermen you've always had trouble with.
what can I say I don't learn
Congrats, you unlocked Hard mode !
Next step, Very Hard.
After that, Expert.
Then, Nightmare.
And finally, Hell, and the True Final Boss.
I also recommend getting the DLCs, they are a very nice change of pace.
someone correct me if i’m wrong, but i think time keeper got shredded bc the +60% damage to bleeding targets on your fire grenade also applied to the fire on the ground, which paired perfectly with blood sword
33:35 "Where else would the king me"
*Me me laughing to myself* oh when he figures out
Super high quality video that I loved keep up the good work
you know if you roll through doors or break them you'll actually stun enemies on the other side. while it might be slightly faster to open them, it provides a great advantage to roll through them because then you can beat enemies like this 14:08 without taking a hit
The invisibility with the assassins dagger woudl have been goated
This is my favorite run on TH-cam, amazing videos, want to see more with the boss cells !
for the rose you need to kill an elite in the sewers for the teleportation rune (the "electric rocks")
after you get that you need to go back to the promenade, use the rune, and go to the ossuary
from there you kill another elite and go back to the sewers
once there you find the breakable floor rock and go to the ancient sewers
just go through that to the insufferable crypt, through that and to the slumbering sanctuary
there you fight another boss that gives you the rune for you to then go BACK to the promenade and finally climb the wall
(yes you need to do ALL that for it)
My favorite build was having the mutation where you can put a shield in your back pack so when you roll it parrys, a tanky close range weapon, and maybe a bow or a support. also brutality (red) all the way
I’d really enjoy it if you made more Dead Cells content, maybe some one color only runs if you’re looking for a challenge? Or the DLCs? You just make it so enjoyable to watch
this is my first video seeing from u just because of my undying love for dead cells. after that im bingewatching your videos. im glad i found you :)
Great video, love that you used music from other great games like Celeste and Cuphead
Keep up the good work :)
You really gotta learn parries man. Once you do the Pirate Captain becomes fodder. My Approach is to close the distance as fast as i can so he can't shoot out those cannon balls and just parry him if i dont kill with my melee weapon.
Yeah I really do. Every time I tried I’d just miss the first parry and move on to something else lol
love the battlebox theatre background music!
The battleblock theatre music in the background unlocked some hidden memories for me
Wait for the blue bird enemy if Ur having a hard time with the pirate
I bought this game last week and just had time to sit down and play last night. I love it so much. It sucks you right in.
congrats on finishing the tutorial
18:30 Clearly he's never had to Slay a Spire before
I slapped my forehead out of disbelief when you rerolled that synergy on the panchaku lmao
It was a pretty crazy move on my part
vengeance can be activated with face flask without losing your chain if you find it
The pirates would be a lot less annoying if you learned to parry. Simply get close to him and parry his melee attack. He also gets stunned giving you a lot of time to hit him.
Mans out here beating dead cells on his 23rd life. In skul it tool me like 67 tries to beat the base game lmao
7:10 u had the chance to head upward to the fractured shrine to get the golden weapon/item
Seeing you pass up the assassins dagger while having the invisibility amulet made me wince so hard my face became a non Euclidean mesh
Also new awesome bosses
Congrats my man i will wait for the all bc runs
