I have sensed these truth and have seen glimpses of them, but have not heard them articulated so beautifully. What a rich feast. I am hungry for more. Thank you for airing these lectures so that we may continue to grow in understanding. I knew decades ago that the goal of the cross was not about going to heaven after death but the coming of Heaven down to Earth, where righteousness and peace will rule the nations through Christ and His faithful servants. Isaiah 52 and 53 are worn out in my Bible. So beautiful is our God.
I have been praying for the Holy Spirit to teach me about prophecy and end times, because none of those I had heard seemed to fit scriptures. I would read testimonies of people in the Middle East and Africa having dreams, visions, and encounters with Jesus. So I learned He is here, but also on His throne. I learned that fear stifles faith, so I pray asking for His perfect love to cast out my fears and mature my faith. These lessons by NT Wright are part of the answers to my prayers. These are not what the majority of western churches are teaching. Most teach psychology, tolerance , refer to the church as a hospital for sick people, and so most are filled with unredeemed, un sanctified sinners who are being told they are saved. Paul warned not to associate with such sinners, not at all meaning the world, because then we would have to leave the world. Today, to not associate with such sinners as he named, we would have to leave the church! I am listening to these sermons and praying for understanding. May the Holy Spirit help the church to wake up and stop following the spirit of this world rather than the Holy Spirit of Jesus.
It really goes back to the basics of: the root of all evil is the love of money. And, you cannot serve both God and mammon. Yet, here we are. Continuing to live day by day trying to build the mammon beast system instead of a Godly society built off love
1: why a person introducing a person introducing a person, to introduce the speaker? 2: Highland Park 21 yo is a particularly yummy drop.3 3: his swipe at those who reject Darwinism is misplaced. Darwin proposed, and his followers reinforce this; that the cosmos 'made' itself and is completely defined in material terms, which at best merges the personal creator god into the creation, de-personalizing it while de-reifying him, rather than his communicated distinction from the creation while active and present within it: the very point of Genesis 1 (apart from its many other points).
Darwin simply proposed that life is based on inheritance (today we call this genetics) and that death is not random but forces life to adapt to its environment. And then there are people who were home schooled... like you. ;-)
34:36 Wright saying 'go to heaven instead' shows he doesn't know the Bible as no-one is going to heaven as Jesus is coming to Earth to make it a happy place for humans to live.

@@rosewhite--- so how is Wright advocating anything otherwise? Seems you haven't listen to the lecture but instead used one rhetorical phrase to prove a point that is needless and in agreement with the gist of Wrights message: God is bringing heaven to earth and has done this in Jesus Christ; we not only wait in anticipation for the fullness of new creation, but even today through faith, hope and love make it a reality today via the work of the Triune God in us.
Lol, he teaches Heaven and earth are meant to be together. “May your kingdom come in earth as it is in Heaven”. What did Jesus say? The kingdom of Heaven is within you
I respectfully suggest you are firstly not completing the quotations and or clearly mishearing what is being said. Describing what you have said as being the antithesis of what is being said, pretty well sums it up.
This lecture speaks to things I have never been able to put into words. I am so grateful for his obedience to his calling to learn and teach!
I feel the same way, halleluyah! Now we just actually have to apply what we learn

A most complete and thrilling account of the follow up to the the scriptures following Jesus death and resurrection.

Let me know when you find a church that wasn't built with money and for the love of money. ;-)

In the minds of protestants he has also been an astronaut. ;-)

33:55 referring to Jesus as a Jewish prophet is no better than Muslims.
He is a Jewish prophets, nothing less but definitely much more. Wright believes that.

Heaven is the waiting place for passed saints until the resurrection.
Stop nit-picking. N.T. Wright believes heaven and earth BELONG together.
