"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Their dance costume here is like a shortened Yukata, except wrapped right over left, something that's usually only done for the deceased. Fits well into the horror concept!
Good Night is one of their heavier releases, and I love it. The K-Rock girl group Rolling Quartz also did an excellent cover of it. The Nightmare hunter casts spells to trap the members, but they get the book from him and turn it against him, trapping him behind the mirror.
"Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me. There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter.
About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊

@@stoofenny JiU, leader of the group *and* official member #1 of InSomnia, has expressly said that one of her dreams is a collab between all girl groups. When our leader says something like that, how could we possibly let ourselves be toxic towards other fandoms? She'd be really disappointed. Plus their Dystopia series explicitly calls out online toxicity.
Part 1 & 2 of Insomniacsy's videos "dreamcatcher dealing with malicious comments & sasaengs" are great examples. But they spoil a bit of the Dystopia series, so watch them after you've reacted to the Dystopia series.

Also we want more people understand Dreamcatcher's greatness, we want more InSomnias. Being toxic is not a good way to get new recruits. Being welcoming, however, goes a long way.
I've been an InSomnia for 7 years! I heard Chase Me and Good night first in a video called "kpop songs that sound like anime openings" in september 2017 and I was PULLED IN like a vortex sucking me into an unknown universe! I never looked back since!
All I can say is that they are the sweetest, most humble genuine souls I've ever seen in kpop. They're so authentic and bring so much good positive energy to the table. You'll love them once you give them a proper chance.
InSomnia's are monster voters and besides that, we're an extremely loyal fandom. Most have seen the girls and the fandom at their worse and whenever that happened, the members would always sens supportive message FOR US despite them obviously hurting as well. (why am I crying now wtf)
We want Dreamcatcher to succeed and change other people's lives as well, that's why we're so loud when we see any new reaction to their MVs lol. As much as we'd like to gatekeep the girls to ourselves, the girls have BIG goals(get on Billboard, get into a big music festivals, hold concerts all over the world, award shows invitations and wins) so we need to be loud!
We're just a bunch of helplessly in love losers that would kill for them. Many people of the fandom aren't even kpop stans, they just love Dreamcatcher overall. They changed many of us's lives and we want to keep changing theirs. They've went through hell and such talented girls deserve to sing on big stadiums.
Agreed! These ladies put out very positive vibes, they are always trying to do good things while they promote. They have songs about things that affect society or about the entire world and they use their platform to point out things that are wrong and need to be corrected. They are AWESOME and they are sweethearts while they bring awareness. Outside of the MVs when they are on shows or whatever, they have been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community as well. They are really rays of sunshine, as some of the lyrics brought up the rainbow. :)
At that time, Dreamcatcher was conscious of jpop for marketability, but it should be viewed as an all-in-one type of KPOP, and in fact, it should be viewed as just a Dreamcatcher style.

Don't worry about it too much not knowing who's who in the MVs.. It happens to pretty much all of us honestly. I myself only got to know of Dreamcatcher (or DC for short) during the You & I era and got hooked since.
Just a quick overview of the MVs you've watched in this vid;
- in Chase Me, DC were basically nightmares (or ghosts, if you would want to call them that) and they were basically tormenting the guy who came to the house to investigate them
- in Good Night we can see the guy finding out more about the girls but he still ends up being trapped by them in the "nightmare world"
- Fly High being the prequel, you get to see how they were before turning into nightmares due to the action of one silly member (hint: magnifying glass)
Glad you enjoyed watching and as you said, a girl group with this type of sound is almost unheard of back then. Most would attempt the concept for 1 or 2 MVs then switch to a different one, but DC stuck to it till this day. Their sound has become something unique to themselves now, so much so that people are saying "oh this sounds like dreamcatcher" when hearing similar sounds from other groups.

In the beginning they often had uniform outfits in videos and long dark hair so it's extra hard to identify them from that time compared to these days when Dreamcatcher are MASTERS of hair colors and styles.
SuA does some rapping, the whisper rap is her. Currently she is doing the crazy high runs in the last chorus of Justice while their main vocal is sitting out promotions. SuA is the main dancer of the group.
I've been an InSomnia for not even a year but the thing you said about the fandom is absolutely right. When I first started to follow the group everyone in the fandom was so welcoming and willing to explain everything, it made me love the group even more!

The Nightmare Series have 7 tracks in total: Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High (prequel), You And I, What, Piri (ending) & Breaking Out (alternate ending/ Japanese Track).
That logo was changed a long ago, alongside the company name actually. Today, they're under the DreamCatcher Company (DCC). You also will find the newer stuff on their new channel.
If you're going through all their MV, dance practice, and some stuff chronologically, you can see how "the investment" grows on them. They're not the biggest company or group, but all doing fine, in most departments.
Btw, since you love anime, the DCC CEO was a big fan of J-Rocks. He was influenced a lot by X-Japan and L'Arc-en-Ciel in his own time. So, here they come, Dreamcatcher.

18:46 that is Dreamcatcher's first official logo. Crescent moon shaped letter D & C with 7 rays symbol...they changed their logo again in January 13th 2021 together with the announcement of their first official lightstick. The new logo have different style but still with 2 same element, letter D, C & crescent moon.

Something about this group is that, while they debuted as Dreamcatcher in 2017, Jiu (Kim Minji), Siyeon (Lee Siyeon), SuA (Kim Bora), Yoohyeon (Kim Yoohyeon), and Dami (Lee Yu Bin) were originally a group called Minx that debuted in 2015. They brought Handong (Han Dong) and Gahyeon (Lee Gahyeon) into the group when they redebuted as Dreamcatcher.

I’ve been an insomnia for 3 years yet I still forget and get confused with the storyline, I just know that fly high is the prequal to chase me and goodnight and that the spider is an important element to the storyline!

Welcome to the dreamworld! We InSomnia tend to be extremely forgiving and welcoming. As other's have already suggested, the This Is ... series by Insomnicsy is the best way to get to know the women, and Kit (i.e. the person behind Insomnicsy) is a devoted fan and the first place you should check for material outside of the official site.
Do not worry at all at this point at telling the members apart. It took me a month to tell SuA from Siyeon, and now Siyeon is my ultimate in Kpop. Furthermore, Hongdong (the Chinese member) has reported that her own mother could not tell her apart from Yoohyeon when they were both blond at the same time. We've all been through it, and so just enjoy the process of learning who they are as people.
Actually Yoohyeon's mother also had the same problem at the same time, not being able to tell Yoohyeon from Han Dong. :D

I didn't discover Dreamcatcher until after Boca came out, but I remember going back and looking through these and just being gob smacked by the songs and visuals and not really knowing what was really going on. It wasn't until I watched it a few more times did I start catching stuff. Heck, there's a scene in You & I, that has some pretty big significance that I didn't catch until after at least 50 viewings. My advice is to just enjoy the music and the visuals and if you want to nerd out on the story be prepared to spend a bunch of time going down rabbit holes. It's a bit like that meme from it's always sunny with him standing in front of the board with the red strings connecting everything, lol.
You'll get the names eventually. It can even be hard for fans who have known them a long time. Even Handong's mom thought Yoohyeon was her daughter in some photos from BEcause era because they looked so much alike.
You've got some great direction on the lore but like several people said, it can be up for interpretation since there's no "official" storyline. Thats the great thing about art, it's meant to be interpreted and speak to each viewer in its own way.
I appreciate you recognizing the risk they took, not just sonically, but also conceptually. Since they were coming off of the Minx disband, they decided to put it all on the line, their CEO sold his controlling stake in the company (is what I've been told) and bet it all on re-debuting them with something that was wholey unique. 7 years later and they are one of the last 3rd gen groups still active and they continue to not only release good music but continue to elevate their craft with each comeback. Hopefully we've got many more years of Dreamcatcher content on the horizon.

Absolutely! I am so aware of this concept being one you don’t see enough in the kpop realm and I know when they debuted they probably got so many mixed opinions about it! But I am SO HAPPY they landed here with this sound, they’ve truly perfected their art form 🥹❤️
@@stoofenny They dealt with people telling them for years to change their sound because they'd never make it as a rock infused girl group with a dark concept. It took them 1924 days to get their first win and they still hold the record for the longest time between debut and first win for a girl group and they've still only gotten wins for 2 songs, Maison and Bonvoyage. They've really fought an uphill battle their whole career and it's another one of the reasons why we love them so much.

Yup. The group members keep improving, just upping their game constantly (like any professional person in any profession should keep doing, if they want to be considered World-Class and remain at the top) and the same could be said for the other employees at the company. The producers have improved so the production in general has improved, the writers have improved (including Dami), the singing line distribution has improved (especially since Han Dong is now confident in her Korean Language abilities)... Just AWESOME to watch them grow and change. The entire company is cool like that :)

These first 3 are part of a 7 part series-their Nightmare Series. Fly High was released third, but it is actually the prequel of how it all began. Long story short, the girls go to a mansion in France (seriously the video was shot at a mansion in France, lol), Jiu finds a spider crawling around outside, she captures it and brings it into the mansion. One day Yoohyeon gets morbidly curious and decides to kill the spider using a magnifying glass and sunlight. Turns out the spider wasn't just a spider and in retaliation, traps the girls in nightmares. They spend the rest of the series trying to get out. In their Korean releases the answer is more open ended. But in their Japanese track Breaking Out, which serves as another ending for the story, they DO in fact get out of their nightmares.

@@stoofenny At one point I had looked it up and that French mansion is sometimes available for rent. You can spend a weekend there and hunt on the grounds (or not; I am sure there would be plenty to see in those woods without needing to go hunting). It's really cool! The way the website looked, DC is the only group who ever filmed anything there but it did see a leap in rentals afterward because the countryside is BEAUTIFUL as you can see from the MV. :)
They blend different genres perfectly. Its not easy thing to do . This is why i love them so much. And this is why i always say theirs genre name is dreamcatcher, they have their own genre. And making this need courage in kpop indusrty. This is why their bravests women of kpop. When start discover b-sides , u will see they re more than one genre. And im sure u will enjoy with this journey. As last about insomnia, insomnia is most kind fandom. So u dont need to correct urself. We dont judge ppls with good intensions. This what we learn from dreamcatcher.

It took me a number of repeat watching to understand the Nightmare series.
Dreamcatcher have been some kind of a black sheep in K-pop right from the beginning. Technically they're still a kpop group, just that their company just had unorthodox ideas in their mine. Their CEO used to have dealings in Japan's rock scene, so I guess he got it from there.
Dreamcatcher actually didn't start out as Dreamcatcher. 5 of the members had already debuted as a group called Minx 2 years before DC. But didn't really break through into the market. But thanks to their CEO who see potential in them, decided to disband Minx and totally revamped the group, adding 2 new members, Handong & Gahyeon.
Anyway, I started following DC since their Deja Vu comeback, and no turning back. As our rabbit Leader Jiu said, "Dreamcatcher is like a black hole, once you're in, you can't get out"
Just to add to my list you're following,
You can start the Insomnicsy channel the get to know the girls' personalities. The owner of the channel will be a huge help for you. She posts all kinds of contents very creatively. Whenever there are new DC content, she'll upload a video with all the english translations.
In between, you can go through their albums too. And even react to all their dance practice videos.
They also have a 10 episode series on their channel called Dreamcatcher Mind.
And they're queens of covers too.
They've also done random parodies of kdramas and such..

fly high is one of my absolute favourite songs in kpop... idk what it is but it invokes such nostalgic and emotional vibes to me.... i didn't love it when i first discovered deukae, but it grew on me so much with each listening and is now my 3rd favourite dc title track (behind deja vu and bonvoyage)
It's a hard storyline to follow purely off the MVs, to give you an idea of whats happening in these three, Prequel is the days before they got "trapped in the nightmare" and thats why its a lighter feel and sound, "Chase Me" and "Goodnight" is what came after. The guy in those two is a "Ghost hunter/ghost chaser?" and he discovers the girls and tried to uncover their story, and at the end of goodnight, you see him getting trapped in the mirror instead. They are trying to seek ways of escaping their "curse". Which started when they captured and killed that spider in the "Fly high" MV.
This isn't spoilers, its all of what happened just in those first three vids XD they release a lot of cool mystery codes and like promo vids and things and in interviewws share details that you'd otherwise miss from just watching the MVs so i hope this helps you piece together the rest a little easier!

Also on a side note, Dreamcatcher used to be a group under happyface entertainment, but once they started to become bigger etc, happyface started to branch off and form smaller companies within that would dedicate themselves to their groups, thus Dreamcatcher company was formed. So Dreamcatcher company is a smaller company within the bigger umbrella which is Happyface ent. Hope this all makes sense! It was february 2017, I was watching some Babymetal videos and I came across one in which Siyeon was blasting babymetal in their van (and other rock songs). So, I decided to check this group out. At the time they only had released Chase Me, and I really liked the horror movie homage and anime-like sound. About a week later they released Good Night and about 15 seconds into the video I knew I was in for the long run.

Oki, first: welcome to the dreamworld :D another Somnia here. Im not a big kpop guy. My entire life was around Rock/Metal music (Ye... some of those bands are heavy heavy)... But one day, i discovered Dreamcatcher and loved the music. But with time, i started to know more and more about them and totally fall in love with them. Despite i picked Jiu as my bias, they are all amazing. The group has a trully and genuine relationship with their fandom. I saw ur previous reaction to Justice and... Yes, you should react to the rest of the album (showcases included), but for sure, it can be a long ride. But we are here to be with you during the process :D. I wanted to recommend the Insomnicsy channel, because it is amazing. You gonna find TONS of really cool content. If you wanna start from the begining... You should start from the "This is..." series. Each member has a video from 2020 till last year :D.

FYI, there are series that called "This is ____' series by @insomnicsy
It is a series that focusing on the personalities of each members, and already made from 2020 up to 2023 for each members...
The latest series IS NOT an upgrade for the earlier series, in fact, they are the add on...
So, the earliest series is supposedly covered the most dominant personality from each members, while the latest is their spontaneous or much less dominant from the members...
And for that reason, if you want to make a reaction video for the "This is ___" series, I recommend to do it from the earliest year up to the latest...
You can make one reaction video for each members separately, e.g: "This is JiU" from 2020 up to 2023 for one reaction video, and the next reaction is for the next member...
But regardless, it is just an advice, it's up to you how to make it, and surely I would still accompany your journey...

Ive been an insomnia for about 3 years now, to this day, i still get confused with the storylines 😂.
I also do agree, that insomnias are the nicest fandom ever in my opinion, at least from my perspective, since its because insomnias have been through a lot of lows but always supported the members. Since the group is not as popular as other groups, insomnias take pride in sharing knowledge to new fans and being able to give them love for getting to know and react to them.
And yes, Dreamcatcher broke through the industry with a rock sound, they are THE FIRST group to have a rock sound in the kpop industry, which is why they are called the "faces of K-Rock". They set the standard for rock in kpop amongst idols (not bands, like FT Island and CN Blue). Ever since Dreamcatcher debuted, since then a lot of groups have been inspired by them by having some songs be a rock genre.
To not be confused, since you are more familiar with Dami, for the most part, I think up until "Vision" mv, she mainly has shorter hair than the rest of the members, so she is easy to recognize. In "Good Night" the first rapper was SuA, who is also the main dancer, she is also a lead rapper, and Dami is the main rapper. To make it easier to recognize the rap line, the next 3 MVs, "You and I" and "What" raps are only going to be Dami. And in "Piri", first rap is the maknae Gahyeon, and then Dami (also she has like repeating lines throughout the song).
I think the one thing i didnt mention in my last comment on your first DC video, although other comments may have mentioned it, is when you get to the dystopia trilogy: Scream. Boca, and Odd Eye. Only during Scream and Boca, there will only be 6 members, because during those two eras, Handong (chinese member) was stuck in China due to being a part of a reality survival show but also being stuck there because of the pandemic, but she is back in Odd Eye.
Dreamcatcher has gone through a lot over the years, I highly recommend watching a video called "Dodging Disbandment and other extreme sports: A history of Dreamcatcher" so you can truly know how they have become who they are now (it is outdated, it only goes up to 2020, but its still worth it to watch)

when i heard you said ~'i'll go all the way from the begining'~ i was thinking about "MINX" .... well fyi they were debuted as MINX in 2014 just 5 of them ( Jiu SuA Siyeon YooHyun Dami) with a cutesie concept (but it didnt go well...but i do like their songs from that era too tho) then they just redebuted in 2017 with 2 more members (Handong and Gahyeon) you can check out them later they were cute that i cant stop smiling while watching XD

In regards to the story in the MVs, I'll just speak on the man: he's basically like a hunter. They're nightmares, and he's trying to get proof of their existence, and they're basically like, "You shouldn't have come here, you're gonna pay for that" lol😂
In terms of sound: so Dreamcatcher will always mix some kinda rock with some kinda pop. Beyond that, you don't know what to expect from a title track. They've done standard jrock, edm rock, industrial, electronic, prog/math rock like they're very much all over that genre. It's what makes them so exciting. And you DEFINITELY never know what you're gonna get with the b-sides. They've done absolutely everything... they even gave us a dash of country on this recent album lol they're too much

Today's 'country' is nothing like what I listened to growing up...my version of 'country' would now be considered closer to 'folk music' because the genre has changed so much.

A fun part about the Minx members re-debuting is that their NEW maknae had been a HUGE Minx fan! Gahyun was SO EXCITED to get to be in the new group with them!
Idk if you knew this but they before dc they were a group called minx (JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Dami) were there. It was the popular cute pop girl group with summer vibes. They released two mvs: why did you come to my home? (Siyeon's highest vocal ever and probably the highest a kpop female singer got) And Love Shake. They were against big groups so they didnt do well so instead of disbanding, the company decided to get new producers, change their song and image and add two new members, gahyeon and handong.
Some people have good memories or this period like JiU and SuA (but she has a trauma with her hair bc they cut It too short and blonde, thats why you Will see sua apart from maison that she had orange/pink hair, she always has the same hair colour). Siyeon and dami hated it bc they didnt like the cute concept at all and also dami being underaged she was too oversexualized and siyeon was depressed even jiu said that she couldnt make siyeon leave her room at all. 😢 Happy that the Dreamcatcher redebut worked for them and they are happy about it.
Also the ceo (we all love the ceo, he is so sweet) said that if dc didnt work he would open a cucumber business for them. He and his wife put all their money into Dreamcatcher so im glad it went well ❤

100 percent valid reasons, sometimes companies push minors especially into concepts that just aren’t appropriate and I’m glad nowadays we are (somewhat) seeing companies addresss these concerns

Quick description of the story so far:
- Fly High: the girls are happy, jiu finds a spider, Yoohyeon kills it, the spider was actually a witch that in revenge turns them into nightmares (some try to fight it, others surrender), jiu noticed it so she closed the gate for the "curse of the spider" not to spread
- Chase Me: a guy comes to an hotel where the girls are living, they make everything to scare him away, he finds the picture and he finds the book that they are trapped in so he decides to catch them
- Good Night: the girls do everything in their power to get him away, he uses the book to catch them, they get the book back and kill the guy, and they escape

It is completely fine to re-watch as many times as you need until you are reasonably sure you saw everything in the MVs. The group and the company could use the views anyway, they totally deserve it.
MOST of us don't spoil so I really hope the fandom will behave for you as well. Most of us wait until you have seen at least through 'Piri' (which is the sixth part of the Nightmare Series), if not waiting through 'Breaking Out' (which is the Seventh and final/ Alternate Ending part), before we start discussing the storyline in general. Some fans will walk you through one video at a time which will still be confusing for a bit because it is one big cohesive story. Obviously with Fly High, we get the idea that the storyline can jump around a little bit throughout the MVs involved. It's not all completely linear so it comes out more like a Three-Dimensional puzzle than simply a timeline. Don't worry though, everything will be fine, I have faith that you will get it eventually. :) OT7!

@@stoofenny There is one reactor who I once heard say something like 'Dammit, Dami!' which I thought was HILARIOUS at the time. I don't remember which reactor or which video, my memory is shot these days. But it was funny as far as the situation because I do remember at least chuckling about it.
My experience watching Dreamcatcher's MVs for the first time always goes something like this:
*Plays the MV for a few seconds. Panics.* "No, No, I'm not ready I'M NOT READY!" *Rewinds back to the beginning.*
*Plays the MV for a few seconds again. Panics.* "Ahhhh nooooo! Not ready! Not ready AT ALL!" *Rewinds again.*
*Starts the MV for the third time. Panics.* "AHHHHHHHH!" *Pauses MV because I just can't take it, and I need a few seconds to calm down. Plays MV.* "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" *Pauses MV.* "You are NOT allowed to look at me like that, (insert Dreamcatcher member's name)!" *Plays again.* "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
*Force myself to let the MV play until the end.* After watching, I feel like it went by like a blur and I have no idea what I have just watched or heard. Everything is so good and I got overwhelmed trying to take in everything at once.
*Repeats the MV.* I still feel like I failed to take in anything, all I know is everything is AMAZING.
*Replays the MV multiple times, this time focusing on different aspects during each replay.* For example:
1) Focus only on the visuals - Faint from their beauty, admire their outfits, die from their facial expressions (may repeat 1-2 times)
2) Focus only on the MV's story/lore (may take 2-3 repeats).
3) Focus only on the lyrics (likely to repeat at least 1 time as I will probably be distracted by everything else that is going on).
4) Focus only on the song (I will usually close my eyes for this and repeat about 3-5 times or more, with the volume up high, to catch as much of the instrumentals and vocals as I can. 'Analysing' the song is my favourite part of discovering a new Dreamcatcher song).
5) Focus only on the dance (may repeat only 1-2 times, but that's because I know that a dance practice video is probably going to be released).
*TLDR:* It is normal to feel like you can't focus on everything at once when it comes to Dreamcatcher MVs. Feel free to replay the MV ^^. I love Dreamcatcher.

Nightmare Series - The story so far: The Hunter goes to the old abandoned hotel that has been haunted by 7 wraiths called Nightmares. Each induces a different terrible nightmare to humans. Despite the wraiths fighting him and spooking him, he manages to break into Room 808, where he finds what he had been looking for. It's a Grimoire, a Book of Spells. He wants it to use it to cast spells and trap the wraiths. He also finds out that the wraiths used to be girls living in the building, before they turned into evil spirits.
The Hunter starts capturing them one by one. However, the last three steal the Grimoire and use it to trap him inside the mirror, and free the rest. They also reverse the Curse that made them wraiths in the first place and become human again. The girls secretly escape through the Woods, away from that building they were trapped in. But while they escape, they drop the Grimoire.
Later on in the Series, we learn that they used to be young witches, who attended a School of Witchcraft (before it was turned into a haunted hotel), when something terrible happened and they were turned into wraiths.
In Fly High, which is a prequel, we learn what happened. The young witches were cursed by the evil Spider Queen, after they captured and (Yoohyeon) killed one of her spiders (after falling first into the Queens evil corruption that spread through the School). Gradually, she corrupted them all and turned them into Evil. Then, they slowly stared becoming wraiths.
She turned them all but one. JiU managed to escaped the corruption briefly and used magic to shut the gate and the building down, preventing the wraiths from escaping to the World. In the process, she was trapped inside and fell to the Curse of the Spider Queen herself.
The story continues in You and I, which is set years after the girls escaped the hotel and the evil Spider Queen.

The Nightmare series is open to interpretation and can differ depending on how you place the order of the MVs in a timeline. Recognition of the member will come in time but it's hard to learn just from the music videos due to them generally being fast paced with quick cuts.
If you want to know more about the group maybe you can watch a guide or even react to one. I suggest you watch the 2023 guide by Dreamer. It provides information about the group and for each member. Also i can't wait for more reaction because i love when Dreamcatcher get new fans.

I just became an Insomnia during BONVOYAGE and I don't really have the lore to a tee but its okay cause it doesn't stop the enjoying process of becoming a Insomnia and getting more into Dreamcatcher and their music. We are just happy to make and meet potentially new insomnias every time. I would also like to second the insomnicsy "This is.... series" and "An Extensive guide to Dreamcatcher 2023", so you get a better understanding of who they are. I want to say I love your editing and the amount of memes that are infused in them I LOVE. Hey, don't worry that you aren't able to distinguish them yet, this comes with a time - first for faces, later for voices. Anyway, in Good Night it was SuA rap part before Dami. SuA can rap very well, as you've heard, but she sings more often, especially lately in discography.
Also it is natural to like one song over another, everyone has own preferences. The only wrong one is not to like DC :) For these three songs, my favorite is Fly High, then Chase Me, then Good Night, however "even" Good Night for me is 10/10. DC is weird like that.
Oh, and "Siyeon" name actually sounds like "She-yon", not "See-yon". Korean language works like that. On the same note, Yoohyeon and Gahyeon names do include noticeable "h" sound, so for example "Yu-hyon", not "Yu-yon". It is not hard like "kh" or whatever, kinda similar like the first sound in "house".

@@stoofenny Yeah, another thing I found about them and listening of their songs for ungodly amount of times: sometimes (usually for b-sides, which are way more different than title tracks) it does not clicks instantly. There are plenty of their songs, that for me were "oh, okay" (there are no bad songs) at first several playthroughs, but then it just happens and omdg, the song elevates and becomes the best thing ever. Funniest thing is that no one of their song ever "fell" from the "best thing ever" pedestal for me, so when it clicks - it stays clicked.

Absolutely agreed, it will be time well-spent, no rush necessary. There have been multiple incidents when fan have told the members how the group saved the fans from harming themselves or some other really bad stuff. This group is just such a positive influence! I put them up there with another girl group under JYP Entertainment, called TWICE, as far as being positive role-models. Seriously awesome stuff going on with these ladies all the way around. :)

Dont worry if you dont know yet their faces. Its nornal for a new insomnia to get them right. Many many people confuse JiU -Yoohyeon-Handong bc they look similar and SuA-Siyeon bc their faces look similar. Soon when you get to know them a little better you Will think "how could i confused them once before?" 😂 Dont worry. Also even before a guide i would recommend the "this IS...." Series by Insomnicsy bc you can see each members personality and character without getting spoiled about their music" also so funny i would recommend the 2023 version. Also its normal to confuse them now bc they almost had the same hair color and style but then each has their different colours so it makes It better

Thanks for the video. The bit in the bathroom where you describe somnies was a nice touch. The nightmare series is the perfect place to start. I like how you mentioned that while each title track was a little bit different, at their core, there's already a specific sound that's coming through. I'm one that doesn't mind you not knowing the members. You'll learn them in time! If it's a goal for you, how soon are you trying to know member faces and vocals? Cause even now, some somnies still confuse some members! Haha.
Yes! I think DC are super recognisable by their sound! They do shake things up and give you so much talent and unique sound but through all of that, yes! They have found their aura in a way! And it shines through!!!

If you love the horror theme of these videos, you'll *love* BEcause from their stand alone "Summer Holiday" album. Most Kpop groups release happy poppy summer songs at some point. Dreamcatcher released a horror story instead.

First, don't stress out too much about getting every detail of the story right off the bat. As you said, there is so much going on that it's practically impossible to understand exactly what is going on from just the first watch. Just enjoy the music and the visuals and pick up what you can of the story. Details will be filled in as you re-watch the videos and through discussions with other InSomnias. Also, there is very little 'official' information about the story, especially when it comes to the details. They did this on purpose. This leaves a lot of the story up to interpretation. One of InSomnias favorite pastimes is theory crafting about the story.
The gist of story is...
Fly High: A group of innocent girls at a boarding school in France -> one catches a spider and triggers a curse and over the course of the video they are turned into Nightmares -> one kills the spider and becomes the focus of the entity behind the curse -> in the end, the leader, JiU, closes the gate, trapping the girls and the curse on the school grounds.
Chase Me & Good Night: Years later an investigator goes to the school, now a hotel, to investigate paranormal activity -> the girls haunt his dreams and, in general, just mess with his head -> in the end, they swap places with him, trapping him in the nightmare and they escape the school / hotel grounds.
That should be enough to get you started with understanding the story, somewhat.
Yes, Insomnicsy is arguably the best source for Dreamcatcher content, outside of DC's official channel of course. She has been making DC content for 3 or 4 years now and she releases a video practically every day.
I have 2 suggestions...
1) Watching the This is... series (This is JiU, This is Sua, etc) is probably the best way to learn their names and put those names to faces. As you'd expect, each video is dedicated to one of the members, making it easy to associate that member with the name of the video. There are 4 sets of videos in total, one set for each year from 2020 to 2023 and there are 7 videos in each set, one for each member. That's sounds like a lot of videos but don't panic. They're only 7 minutes long and no one expects you to do all of them in one sitting. What most reacters to is split one year's videos into 2 reactions, but you can handle it any way you want. It's your channel.
2) I'm sure most InSomnias would love to see you react to these. They're so much fun to watch and we like to see peoples' reactions as they learn about the members' personalities.
Also, don't stress too much about learning their names right away. No one expects you to learn names and faces overnight. Take your time, it will happen. The This is... series will help a lot too.
Anyway, that's enough for now. Don't want to get too rambly and boring. I'm loving your Dreamcatcher reactions so far. Keep up the good work.

the members get easier to differentiate as you go through the eras. sua and siyeon probably get confused the most in the early MVs, but due to age and (sorry to the insomnias who are usually upset about this being pointed out..) siyeon in particular having some work done over the years. sua has too i'm sure, but its less obvious.
you seem very open about your own experience so i know u wont be weird about it like a lot of kpop stans are😭 the list of idols who never get surgery and/or fillers is extremely short. and people are allowed to do what they want with their bodies.

While Dami was still under-aged (so, pretty sure it was still Minx Era), somebody set up a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon for her to go get looked at. They were going to basically shave her jawline so that she would not have the 'u' shape anymore, she would have the more angular face that everybody else was getting in order to stay in teh stupid 'Korean Beauty Standard'. Dami got scared, left the clinic and never went back. Nobody ever said anything to her about it after that. I say, 'Go, Dami!' for that! If she didn't want it and she HATES pain, then she didn't want it and it's her choice of course.
And then Siyeon prefers to get Lip Fillers (and apparently has also had other modifications but I could not actually figure out how to explain them). That's also her choice. Personally, I liked her look before she changed anything, I thought it was unnecessary. OBVIOUSLY, whatever makes her happy about what she sees in the mirror, I can't really bitch about. But no denying she is still a gorgeous woman. :)
I don't know if you know or if you're the one doing it, but you don't need to alter the audio for copyright reasons. Dreamcatcher Company don't copyright their MVs and is actually for reaction videos. 😀
