Shane may well be our best player all round, But he is Not there's China has progressed to the greatest players on earth...
i love shane more than anyone, but these commentators keep saying hes the best player in the world and that hes not ranked that way because he doesnt play over seas, but if u ever watch him play at the misconi cup, he always chokes. and also, his game is suited for american rotation.. if you saw him play at the chinese 8 ball invitational, he looked like a complete noob compared to the chinese and gareth potts. To say he is the best player in the world is a huge statement. He might be the best american 10 ball player, and possibly 9 ball also. Also a longer cue helps u deliever straighter, due to the length of the cue preventing deviation through ur stroke.
He won two 9-ball Masters and was finalist in two 9-ball world championship, so he plays overseas. And pretty well too. Imho is one of the best player in the world. Obviously we're talking about american pool, which is very different from chinese 8-ball. It's like comparing rugby and football players.
In fact if you take Yang Fan, one of the best in chinese 8-ball, is pretty weak in 9-ball or 10-ball. Let alone one-pocket or straight-pool, where he wouldn't have a clue.
Anyway there are a lot of great players in the world, defining "the best in the world" is pretty non-sense for me.
Best all around player.
Maybe try not eating when commentating a match??
Why does everybody spend so much time on what the players get .
They get crap. 2500 dollars is stupid, they spent more than that getting there.
You can't hear the commentators , which isn't that bad , the main guy doesn't know jack diddle.
Why is pool in the toilet? Duh! same thing for 50 years , starting with Howard Cosell
