Hi friends!
Today, I'm really excited to be unboxing two NEW DIsney / Thomas Kinkade licensed diamond paintings! I originally found these at Hobby Lobby, and are under the RoseArt parent brand, which I've never seen release diamond paintings before. These two kits are "Beauty and the Beast Falling In Love" and "Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cafe," and appear to also be available on Amazon.
These kits offer some unique features (and a couple of quirks I want to point out in the video) that ultimately make it well worth the price point, in my opinion! I'm very curious to try actually working on one of these to see how they look completed. It's exciting to see more licensed Disney diamond painting options, especially by an artist with such gorgeous and well-known artwork as Thomas Kinkade!

Katie over here, saving all of us Kinkade/Disney fans so much money. The hero we need.
This is why I appreciate channels like yours. If not for this unboxing/review, they would have had me at "Thomas Kinkade". But after seeing it through your lens, I think this will be a hard pass for me. I haven't been a subscriber for long on your channel, but I've watched enough of your videos to translate your use of the word, "interesting". There's really no need to beat around the bush... just tell us like it is. This kit would turn NEW diamond painters away from an otherwise fantastically fun and rewarding craft, out of pure frustration. But channels like yours that can point out things like extremely hard-to-read symbols and tell people "this is not how every kit is", goes a long way in informing those that might not know that. Thank you so much for spending your time and money to save us ours - you are appreciated!!
The moment you said Rose Art I knew it was doomed. How they got the contract for Kinkade is really surprising when the Disney+DAC contract was just recently announced. Thank you for unboxing these so that others can make informed decisions!
I wonder if there’s any hope for Disney x kinkade to be on DAC some day 🤞
Wow, thanks for sharing and taking one for the team. I will stay clear of that brand. How they managed to get that artist is beyond me.
I am quite happy to see this unboxing before discovering the kit in person. I think I would have been disappointed with the purchase. Those symbols are rough. Thank you for the authenticity. ✨
I was really hoping DAC would get these with their new Disney contract. Maybe there’s still hope someday they can render these
Lol!! Horrifyingly fascinating.😂
I just bought one of these. I should have watched your video first!
Thank you for sharing, Katie. This gives me hope that DAC might get these one day. I would run to buy them but I really dislike partials. This made me so happy though, I can't even describe it! Thomas Kinkade is my favorite artist. I have several of his paintings in my home.
I also saw this in Hobby Lobby and almost bought it on the spot. Thank you so much for this review, you just saved me some money! I’m a Disney/Kinkade fan and have been wanting something like this. I appreciate your review on this and sharing my disappointment
I am SO here for this!!! Thank you for sharing!
Katie, Thanks for unboxing these RoseArt kits. I was intrigued when I saw the title of this video as I adore the Disney movies and Thomas Kinkade. I think these most likely are geared toward beginner diamond painters or small children to start their journey in this craft or for a fun project given the subject matter, pixelation, drill type and partial canvas; not to say adults shouldn’t do them. I googled RoseArt and found them on Amazon along with other Disney movie kits. They are cute! 🥰
Oh my! That drill field is no joke. I don’t know 🤷🏽♀️. . . I wish you the best 😊
Thank you so much for unboxing. I think you saved a lot of people from purchasing. I had the same reaction as you. LOL. I would send the company feedback for sure! Maybe they will appreciate it and improve!
My daughter saw them Tuesday and picked both of them up for me, 40% off. Of the two I think the Mickey and Minnie Cafe will work up the nicest. We have several Thomas Kinkade canvases throughout our home so BIG TK fans here.
Thank you for reviewing these. I saw then at Hobby Lobby for 40% off last week and almost picked them up but then decided against it when I deduced they were partial drills. Seems like it would be a great project for a kid.
Thank you for your information on the 2 diamond arts projects. I don't think i will be in ahurry to purchase either one. I am new to this art & craft
I wish all kits had hangers in them, even if it drove up the price. These sound like a steal, honestly1
Hi Katie! Thanks for sharing ...good luck!
Thank you for opening these kits because I saw them online only so far not in the store yet. I was curious what they looked like. It would be interesting to see what it looks like done and how it was to work on. Definitely would purchase it on sale and not pay full price.
Thank you for the review. It was very helpful.
I got those too! Amazon also has the Tangled one!
Hi Katie, Love both canvases, especially Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast is the only cartoon film I cry at the end.
😊😊😊
Lol Katie, that is Belle's father as he is an inventor in the Beauty and the Beast one. That is Maurice. If you look close you can see his form.
Oops 😅 I was so shocked by the quality issues, all Disney knowledge left my head!
@DiamondsandWashi that's alright. I was surprised with how many issues there were with the paintings myself. I just love Beauty and the Beast and Thomas Kinkade art work.
@@DiamondsandWashi😂
Yeaaahhh... while it's highly unlikely that we could get these in the UK anyway, it's an easy 'nope' from me. For that price, I would expect better quality, if I'm honest. It takes me back to my early days of diamond painting and buying smaller random, illegible kits from Amazon, before I got spoiled by DAC 😆✨️
I feel the same way. They are cute but too pricey where as Make Markets kits are the right price and better quality. I’m spoiled with DAC and others whose canvases/drills are great!
I know but unfortunately I don’t live in America 😢 but I’m currently busy on a custom painting from jadedgemshop with Bambi’s first year from him and oh my god his artwork is so gorgeous you are gonna love it can’t wat for you to work on it
I have the puzzle of this put together and saved it!
They are interesting, we don’t have Hobby Lobby in Canada 🍁
Wow!
I found a kit online at CVS that I want to check out today. I plan on visiting my local CVS.
Not sure if you know this, but at one point a company sold these paintings as cross stitch kits! The kits themselves can go for a good bit on the secondary market, but some people will sell just the cross stitch chart for cheaper once they are done with the kit. Maybe a possibility to one day do a cross stitch conversion in a licensed way.
Thank you saved me some money
Thanks for the review. I was intrigued and almost grabbed one off Amazon but now I definitely will be skipping these…not only is that drill field pretty bad, if it’s like other kits I’ve done where the diamonds aren’t always on a grid, even the gridded areas would be difficult to multi place 😅
I'll just say thank you for the review. If I had spent that much on a DP kit and it looked like that I would be very upset. I think I'll pass on these. Your review was incredibly helpful and informative.
I literally just now completed my first Diamond painting of the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
I bought a Tangled painting from this company a month ago on Amazon and had the same issue with the canvas symbols bleeding onto each other. I had to use a magnifying glass to even make out half of them since I don't have a light pad. (Plan to get one in the future)
The biggest complaint I had is that they didn't give me enough drills and had to order more from Diamond Drills USA after getting a DMC reference chart off on Amazon. (because of course, the kit didn't give me DMC codes and I didn't want to contact that company). I was able to finally finish it after four weeks. Please, save all of yourselves the trouble, it is not worth it!
Any first Thomas Kincaid caught my eye and when I saw Disney I really was intrigued. After seeing your review, I probably won’t purchase either of these. I struggle enough with the paintings I do now but to struggle with deciphering symbols etc. does not interest me. Thank you for this review.🥰
I feel the same about the Beauty and the Beast canvas. I bought it right away and did get it on sale, but I was disappointed in the saturated symbols and the thinness of the glue. I haven't tried it out yet, though, and it was inexpensive.
I would love to do a LARGE size full coverage of one of these.
Very interesting. But for the price I would expect a better synbol/color difference. Shouldn't have to guess at what it's supposed to be. As always, thanks for the review and info.
I Googled and these are also on Amazon for those of us who don't shop at Hobby Lobby. I'm on the fence about buying these. I want to know if they're easier to read with a light pad.
I just saw these Saturday and was surprised but in the end I did not buy. I was disappointed it doesn’t say anywhere on the box what the partial coverage was gonna be. I hope DAC gets some down the road
08:05 That’s not Gepetto. 🤭 That’s Belle’s dad, Maurice. ☺️💕 He’s an inventer.
Whoops! I was so shocked by the quality of the kit, I couldn’t see straight 😅
@@DiamondsandWashi Tehehe, no worries, I understand. And they were both crafty fathers too, so I don’t blame you. 😉💕
It amazing that this kit is also a cross stitch. They had the pattern already made! Why not just use that!!
Great unboxing video and great find at HB. The Beauty and the Beast kit was super saturated! Were the numbers/letters on the key also printed on the drill bags?
Yep! They were.
@DiamondsandWashi ok I just didn't see them on the bags in the video. Thank you
I think even though it is bad I will still get it. Just because I am a Beauty and the Beast geek.
Thank heavens for your unboxing. By name brand and recognition I was very interested in these, but this manufacturing is definitely a pass for me.
I am not partial to partials. ;) I am also not a fan of symbols that I cannot read. I like the art but probably would not purchase these kits. Thank you for sharing with us. :)
haha agree with everyone else, as soon as you said Cra-z-art I said "nope"
I like the Minnie Mouse pic and would have been excited about doing it but I don’t like several things going on with this kit and will more than likely pass on it. I’d like to be able to paint the entire picture not just half of it.
I think the only thing these are good for is maybe , as myself, who have never done one, these will at least let you see if this is something you can see if you like and want to continue. Now I can move on the better and harder etc.
Ok to stop your corners from curling. Slow take each corner and pull the corners of the film pretty back and put back on, do both side that way, it will stop your picture from continuing to curl.
Is that not Belle’s dad Maurice flying the ship? I’m not a Disney expert but my girls do love Beauty and the Beast.
Is that geppetto or is that Belle's father on the beauty and the beast painting
I don’t really like partial drill canvases so these wouldn’t be for me. I am curious about the new Disney kits at JoAnn’s though 🤔
I think a bright light pad might make the symbols easier to see. Good thing the picture isn’t too large, we will have to see the finished picture to decide if it’s worth it.
Is bambi on that diamond painting
I bought this kit on Black Friday but returned it when I opened the box and looked at the canvas. Not the same as picture on the box. Much of the image was cut off on the actual canvas.
I don't particularly like partials. They designs on the two of them is really cute. The canvas for placing drills looks horrible. Wished that DAC had come out with it. 😊😊
I feel like these kits and RoseArt in general is geared towards kids. Most craft kits made for kids are junk. The quality is what I would expect from the brand....like the really waxy, no pigment crayons.
Oh my god 😳 well, I guess we can't expect too much from Roseart 😬 after all they're known as a knockoff brand 😅 let's all hope that now that Disney has seen DAC quality, they revoke RoseArt's license
Oh, RoseArt 😅 Funny they haven’t changed in the 30ish years since I was a kid and even then wasn’t a fan of the quality!
Oh boy. Hope you saved the bag and the receipt. I’m new to this hobby, and I would return them. Some of the 6.99 Amazon kits are frame worthy compared to this. Sorry, that’s way too much money for those. I’m on a fixed income and would save that 46.00 and buy a DAC or Dreamer Design. Make Market are comparable size, full drill and cheaper. Ugh😉
And there is a lot of extra on Beauty n Beast
Fun fact: I went to the same high school (El Dorado High) as Thomas. But he was a few years behind me. Gee, the rendering on Beauty and the Beast was terrible! I did a different painting not too long ago with rendering like that -- it was a nightmare, even with a light box.
M local Hobby Lobby has diamond art on sale every other week.
That price for that quality is just no way ^^"
I had this problem with a Diamond Dotz canvas. Some of the symbols were unreadable even with a light pad. Incredibly disappointing.
How can I get that one
It would be interesting to see how this looks once completed if you can be bothered.😊
i had bought this last week and I was let down big time, the diamonds do not stay on, and the frame keeps falling apart. never again will i buy rose art kits.
Thank you for sharing the unboxing... disappointing that Thomas Kinkade would license with this brand when the quality is not great.
As soon as I saw the CraZart/Roseart name, I knew the kit was gonna be a little rough. 😅
Same. They do everything as cheap as possible and definitely do not think about quality at all.
I try not to make generalizations buuut… yeah, same vibe from RoseArt as when I was a kid and even then knew they were poor quality.
Thank you... I was about to try to get them but now... ummm, I think I'll pass!!
I’ve been dreaming of proper Kinkade Disney Dreams Diamonds collections for so long. I do the puzzles and they are beautiful. I saw one unlicensed one on eBay and knew immediately it would be horrible.
I’m so surprised these are licensed, they are pretty poor quality. What a shame 😭
Omg I need these I love Thomas Kinkade - update after watching the whole video yikes
🌹🌹❤️❤️🦘🐨
I like Thomas Kinkade's style, and I feel like at this size, it's just not there. It might be a pretty Disney image, but it's really no longer a Thomas Kinkade.
Has anyone found the DMC number for the beauty and the beast falling in love DP? I understand it shows the number and letters but i prefer dmc....help lol
No no no no no……I would return it. I hope you don’t get a migraine working on that. Eek!
I would have been so mad if i had bought theae and the drill fields look like this! Omg!!! Im not trying tp be mean but i really would have been upset.
Someone needs to adapt these I love them but I don’t like partels
No Hobby Lobby for me.
I love all of the Thomas Kinkade paintings but this is just weird!
Yikes. 😂 oh goodness. Yea I think I'll pass.
I almost got these until I saw it was a partial 😢 pass
Poor quality. I’d be upset if I bought these and found the canvases this way.
Thats disappointing, their puzzles aren’t the greatest quality either. But, not the worse ever either.
