For all who learn English, I recommend audiobooks! My favorite are: 1st - Series of Harry Potter read by Jim Dale. This is a brilliant American actor who alone with his voice surpassed all the creations of Hollywood! When I hear Voldemort in his performance it really chills my blood! And the 2nd is a famous series of Myths created by Robert Lynn Asprin and read by Jeff Woodman. It so clear for understanding and perfectly performed. It's a pity that Woodman has only made three audiobooks. But the Myths are amazing, you will enjoy them I guarantee!

I loved "atomic habits" It is a great book with great advices and if you don't like reading a novel with long,complex and unending story maybe you can try to read these kind of personal development books, because they consist of short parts...

I decided to read short stories written by Somerset Maugham and Jack London. I also like to read articles about Geography, History and Literature

Wonderful tips about english books for reading. I've read DRACULA by Bram Stocker - Intermediate level and I also read REBECCA by Daphne du Maurier - Advanced level
In intermediate level I used to read JK Rolling, Agatha Christie or Asimov. Now, I am in advanced level and find difficulties reading some authors like Philip K Dick or William Gibson, but Asimov or that kind of books though they like me a lot, are too easy. Therefore, I need to read books with enough complexity but no too much.
Great suggestions, Wes. When I was in school, reading biographies helped me a lot improving my English. As a teenage girI I used to be a great fan of Madonna, thus I read several biographies about her and my grades improved markedly. I found the advice to read newspaper articles to be a particularly smart one, thank you very much. 🙂

We have to know what we like to read, and this is a problem also, How we can know what we like to read? to make the first step. In my case I wasn't a reader and when I was 30 years old, I decide to be reader then I haven't any idea about what can I read, and I stared with what I have in my bookshelf , fortunately I found a book that speak about Islam it was amazing relay I like it, and I stared to look for Islam books. It speak about personnel development. I don't think that any book can cover this subject like coran. I hope that everyone try to read this book.

I love reading, but most of the book have so many words that I don't understand; even though I could be considered a high intermediate student, I feel I could read a Intermediate and Lower intermediate book to improve my vocabulary. there isa collection called easy english collection from level 1 to level 5 ;it is really helpful i advise you guys to read at least one book from each level
Thank you for the great video! I'd suggest reading something that you can learn modern English phrases from or it's also helpful to find something where you can see what sentence structures and patterns are popular in that language nowadays. My favourite one is "Life without limits" by Nick Vuijic.
If you like humor I highly recommend the novels and short stories by Roald Dahl, Ephraim Kishon and Ernest Hemingway. In school's English lessons (for English as a foreign language) we read Hemingway sometimes. Since I am from Germany I can imagine that for the "English Yoda Master" books by Kafka and Hesse translated to the english language could be challenging while improving your English. But I prefer to read english originals, e.g. "Watership down".

I was wondering if it’s related to what some of my friends say, which is “You really have to fully understand Chinese so that you’ll be able to understand and use another language better.” And the fact is that I’ve read so little in Chinese so far and have only read some English magazines like “national geographic” and news. I don’t know why I don’t have a habit of reading in both languages. What do you think?
I think if you can try to develop a passion for reading, in any language, it will help. If it's difficult to understand, try something easier to see if it makes a difference. 👍
One time I got and checked it out several books from the library, and it occurred to me to get also the audio book. It was very interesting , I am planning on doing it again. I don’t know why people used to think Harry Potter is up to intermediate level. That’s not the case at all. They are books with not only hard words but also with many phrases in unusual structures for intermediate level. I wouldn’t claim it is just a little bit above what intermediate readers need to read.

They also provide you billion ways to tackle tough bums in road of your life no matter what it is. They're worth reading :)
To me, Animal farm by George Orwell's great, it's worth reading. You'll learn many things that wider your world and have tons of lessons that you can pick them up applied to your day-to-day life.

i love O'Henry stories and Charles Dickens novels. and of course Mother Goose Rhymes. AS for technical language i find useful to read instructions/.

Sup, I'm looking for the name of a book... The book is about a young girl who I recall as an orphan. She moves with her grandmother that she hasn't met before. She builds a really good relationship with her and there is like a farm and a church.

Reading shorts stories is better for you understand the context when you stop to search unknown words. Classical books have many old English phrases, doesn't?
Reading every night in bed is my goal, but it is hard to accomplish because listening is easier and there are so many video to be entertaining.
