- A spacious and large snow cave can be dug in 3-4 hours. On this trip, I went to Sjusjøen in search of a snowdrift large enough to dig a snow cave in.
Location: Northeast side of Sollifjellet
Required equipment: Shovel and snow saw - I used a regular folding saw
Tips: The walls should be at least 30 cm thick. Build a sleeping area that is higher than the entrance. There should be good clearance between the sleeping bag and the roof, as the cave tends to sink a bit during the night.
Great stuff! Digging snow is a lot of work even in a small project, you've managed to dig one bedroom apartment 🤣🤣! Looks great plus full workout. Be safe.
It sure is ☺️ But it was a lot of fun though. Hope you are doing well in the Norwegian cold 🇳🇴
Where is the cold?@@HikingHansen
@@VladimiradventurephotographyIt’s not that cold at the moment, that’s correct 😅
Very cool stuff❤❤❤❤
So awesome. Please make more!
Sure thing 🤜
That looks absolutely crazy Mads 😳😳😳!!
Looks like pretty hard work digging it out, but you made a really comfortable living space in it, ..very impressive 👏👏👏
Great video, keep well my friend 🙏
Colin! It was a fun project. It took about three hours to dig out the cave.
I’m sorry, I forgot to turn on the subtitles when you watched the video. I guess you don’t understand Norwegian 😅
You too my friend 😊
No worries Mads, I watched it again with the subtitles 😬
Even though I didn’t understand it, it was nice to hear you speaking your native language 👍
@@1956colinb I’m glad to hear that, Colin 😊 it’s obviously easier to make it more genuine when I speak Norwegian. Hope you’re having a great Sunday. I’m doing some baking and enjoying a cup of coffee ☕️
Barsk tur i snøhule, Mads! Herlig film 🤩
Love to try this. Looks really good and fun 😊
Give it a try, or come to Norway if you need more snow ❄️😊
Fantastisk !
Thoroughly enjoying your videos Mads, how long did it take you to build your hotel?
Definitely hard work, good memories from the 80's and snow holes, cheers.
It took me 3 hours from start to finish. Hard work, but fun to have a project when the nights are long. If you haven't been snow cave camping since the 80's, you should do it again soon. So much fun :)
❤❤👍👍👌👌😊😊
Good times brother. 👍🏼
Definitely 🤜 Hope you’re doing well, Dougie.
@@HikingHansen I’m good my friend, regards to Stine and Vega.
@@dougieranger Thanks, but we broke up last summer, so Vega isn’t with me anymore, unfortunately. That explains the lack of content last year ☺️
@@HikingHansen Sorry to hear that brother. Stay strong, there are plenty more fish in the sea. 💪🏼
❄️💙❄️ Awesome!! Did you run across any Wampa's while in that snow cave?
I guess I was the only one ☺️
I have no idea what you were saying but it looked good.
What made you start doing videos in Norwegian?
The video has English subtitles, so it should be manageable 😉 It just works better and becomes more natural in Norwegian - and for those who join me.
My bad, I forgot to hit the publish button on the English subtitles 😅
@@HikingHansen Yeah, no subs.
@@HikingHansen Takk for svar. Takk for fine filmer!
@@H.Stroem Det er kostbare produkter, men de holder godt. Takk, det er hyggelig å høre 😊
