This certainly does bring memories of the scene in the movie, Sense and Sensibility, where Colonel Brandon first lays eyes on Marianne. Instantly he's taken away by Marianne's beauty and sweet voice. In the words of one of the other character's, he was "besotted." Very lovely voices.
Yep! One of the few movies where he played a good guy! Normally I don't go for a "May-December" style of romance (Kate Winslet was 20 when she played Marianne, while Alan Rickman was nearing 50), but Rickman played it so beautifully that I was rooting for their love the whole film. Down with Willoughby! What a scoundrel! ...Even though Emma Thompson married Willoughby's actor eight years after this film came out. That always cracks me up.
@@babserella2778 sure, I agree! May-December... I didn't know this espression, thank you... Yes, I was shocked about Thompson's marriage. And in British series and movies you can see them always mixed up and it's amazing!
Weep you no more sad fountains; What need you flow so fast? Look how the snowy mountains Heav'n's sun doth gently waste! But my sun's heav'nly eyes View not your weeping, That now lies sleeping. Softly now softly lies sleeping, sleeping. Sleep is a reconciling A rest that peace begets; Doth not the sun rise smiling When fair at even he sets? Rest you, then, rest, sad eyes! Melt not in weeping, While he lies sleeping, Softly now softly lies Sleeping, sleeping.
WOW ... Absolutely beautiful and at 1.52 I had chills running up my back,. It was so hauntingly breathtaking and achingly lovely... Well sung ladies, you sing and look amazing.. Best regards and wishes from Wales .. :0)x
Amazing job, great voices everyone. Who is looking at any designs of anything! With that voice i don't care if you are fat, ugly and badly dressed, the voices, the arrangement, the mood, that is all that matters. These ladies really worked this song and they are amazing singers, they should be judged by their singing and not their looks.
would you be willing to sell the recording of this song or release it online? This song is just so beautifully sung that I really want a copy please :)
Hello! Would you mind telling me who the arranger was for this piece? I have seen a lot of SATB versions available for purchase, and this is exactly what I am looking for :)
Gorgeous girls, beautiful voices, truly awful dress design. Sorry...but of the numerous gown designs to pick from, this was a bad choice. Loved the rendition of "Weep You No More". Sweet harmonies. Well done ladies.

I just can't help remembering Alan Rickman as colonel Brandon... great movie. Very good choir and amazing costumes!

Weep you no more sad fountains;
What need you flow so fast?
Look how the snowy mountains
Heav'n's sun doth gently waste!
But my sun's heav'nly eyes
View not your weeping,
That now lies sleeping.
Softly now softly lies sleeping,
sleeping.
Sleep is a reconciling
A rest that peace begets;
Doth not the sun rise smiling
When fair at even he sets?
Rest you, then, rest, sad eyes!
Melt not in weeping,
While he lies sleeping,
Softly now softly lies
Sleeping, sleeping.

I think the dresses would look better without the dramatic gloves. Beautiful voices though, more importantly :)
Who would be shallow enough to complain about someone's garments...
