    Another great video Kim, and your timing was perfect. I just started looking into sublimation and knowing it can be done without a printer is awesome. Two things - your tip about tearing the paper will be so helpful (especially since I am a scissors-straight-edge-girl!) and I am so glad you left your oops in the video. That will serve as a great reminder! Your design is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!!

      Hey Maryann! So glad you found the video helpful. Sublimation is so great, but the investment is big. And glad you appreciated the oops. I was shocked at myself, but it's so easy to forget a step when you're having fun with a project. 😂 There is another form of sublimation without a printer that I've been excited to try. I'm gathering supplies this week so more to come the week of September 12. Happy crafting and happy Labor Day weekend! 💕

    Thank you for such a great tutorial! Everything was easy to understand. I really appreciate that because I am very new to Cricut. I took lots of notes! Hopefully I can get an Easy Press soon and give this a try.

      So very glad it was helpful. 💕 You may also want to try DTV. I explain it all here, but you can use your normal home printer. Happy crafting!

    Hi Kim! I LOVE your videos the best for all things Cricut! You're so easy to understand and you are a lifesaver because I really wanted to do sublimation before Christmas without having to invest in a printer for myself (that can come after Christmas lol). Again, thank you so much and God Bless you and your family this Christmas season!! 🎄

      Oh! Thank you so much for the sweet note! So glad I could help you. 🩷 And here's another way that you can do it with a regular printer, no sublimation printer needed.😀 th-cam.com/video/8FQRpgvS_1Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1ePwr8GOw_Bx3DeD Happy crafting and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TOO!

    HI Kim, I am just getting into Sublimation. Checking to see if you can do sublimation on colored shirts and colored Koozies?

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ashley! Color can be a bit tricky. Light colors work well. I've tried light blue and light pink, specifically on koozies. You can see how that went here: th-cam.com/video/c98fDa0wjl0/w-d-xo.html (It's the fifth craft in the set). AND, you can sublimate onto dark colors, but that is an entirely different paper and process. Or, you can bleach a spot on the shirt and then sublimate in the spot. I've seen several crafter do that, but I've yet to try it. OR, you can try DTV, Direct To Vinyl. I'll be honest, I'm loving it. Here's a video explaining how it all works and it's great on color plus you don't need a sublimation printer! YAY! th-cam.com/video/8FQRpgvS_1Y/w-d-xo.html Thanks for crafting with me!

    Dear Kim, this is now 8 months since you uploaded this video, so you will probably have moved on and won't read my comment. But I have watched the video again and again, taken notes, wrote my own little observations, so I want to leave this comment to you anyway.
    First of all thank you: nowadays Cricut videos are all about sublimation, and for people like me who cannot afford a sublimation printer it has been very depressing to see all those marvellous projects and things done, knowing that I would never be able to do anything like this. Ever. So you can imagine how excited I was to watch this video and see the fantastic results, and especially thinking: AHA I can do this too, then!!!
    I think that I'm talking for many other people saying that, like me, they have felt like for a long time like the poor cousins... No more! Now I can safely say that I will be able to do sublimation even if I can't spend $$$s for a bloody piece of hardware.
    I am going to have a look to your other videos, and see if you made a follow up about using, this time, infusible ink transfer sheets. I am so excited!
    Thank you again for the excellent video 💯 🎀

      @KimByers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Pixxa37! I try to read all my comments even months later. 😊 I’m so glad you liked this video. And yes I did more infusible ink type videos. There’s one you might really like that is actually a knock off of a piece of art for Easter. I used infusible ink on a canvas and it turned out great. I’ve also used it to make hats, T-shirts and even mugs and tumblers. I’ve not tried it yet, but hobby lobby has their own version now in stores. 💕 Happy crafting!

    • @KimByers

      Hey Donna! So glad you like the idea. The pillow covers are Cricut brand. Very durable and if treated could be used outside. I have them linked in the description. Happy crafting and thanks for watching! 💕

    I thought infusible ink couldn’t go on canvas. Is the canvas polyester?

    • @KimByers

      This is the Cricut brand pillow case that is specifically for sublimation, so yes this pillow case cover is a poly blend. 😀 Thanks for watching and happy crafting!!

    I should use sublimation paper I think as I see your demo

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Mariella! I personally think it makes a difference. I know lots of people say they just use printer paper, but I find the Subli Paper holds the ink instead of absorbing it and my designs come out brighter and crisper for it. Plus, you can get pretty good deals on Subli paper. It's really not that much for a great project. Thanks so much for crafting with me and happy sublimating! 🩷
