    I just bought a CRF300l, and as i was looking for soft lugagge on a website, i found these for sale, almost brand new for 100€ (bought it for 80€ ). Searching on TH-cam for a review and seeing yours, was a bless👌👌, specially with a CRF!! Thanks man👍!

    would have being good to see the fitment procedure-also you didn't mention whether these bags could be fitted to hard luggage pannier system. Otherwise it was ok.

    Thanks for the review! I am looking into these right now as well and I think you're one of the first to review these bags, so great job!
    One of the main reasons why I'm specifically looking for those are the diagonal strapping options just like Enduristan-Blizzard, Kriega OS Base, etc. So to the rear rack in the upper back and to the pegs in the lower front. That should keep them tightened quite firmly to the bike as I hope and it seems like until now only the very expensive bags have their mounting points in those locations.
    In the video it looks like you didn't even use those lower/front strapping locations? So yours are only held by the two main velcro straps under the seat and the straps to the rear rack? Is that correct?
    Don't you have issues with "flapping" up and down this way?
    Also did you have issues with the bags scuffing up your plastics? Is that inner surface somehow rubberized?
    Do the bags have any small pocket on the inside? Like net-pocket or something
    In general how are you satisfied with the firmness of the bags? Can you compare to other bags?

      Hey David, thanks for the kind words.
      Yes you are correct, in the video I only have them fitted with the under seat straps but they do have the option to strap them down further with D rings. I do have a bungee looped around the rear of the bike to the rearmost rings though to hold them in place horizontally.The only times I noticed the bags move was when I hit small jumps so if you ride gnarlier trails you’d probably want further tie them down. They come with extra straps in the box to do this.
      The back of the bags have a rubberised type coating which also keeps them from melting on the exhaust. Haven’t noticed any scuffs at this stage.
      There’s no real additional pockets on the inside apart from the sleeves that hold the plastic mould bits that keep the bags in shape. They’ve got a nice balance I think between being nice and soft to cram stuff in and being stiff enough to retain their shape.
      I can’t really compare them to other bags as these are the only ones I’ve had on this bike. I can say that I like how they are waterproof and there’s no additional linings to muck around with. Generally for the money I’m really happy with them and I’ve also got the GRT717 (tool bag in the video) and GRT703 bags now as well.
      From my understanding long time life of these might not be as good as the more premium brands but my needs they’re solid and I’ve got no complaints.
      Hope this helps man.

      @@OnThrottle Thanks, yeah, I think I'll just try them. My main concern with them is the longevity as you also said. But then again they are only half the price of similar sized Enduristan Blizzards...so if the Givi last only half as long, I'm happy with them.
      How bad is the damage on your bags after you hit the ground? Is the material still waterproof?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No damage at all after that crash. Was very impressed considering it was on gravel and it scratched the left side front cowling. Bags are still waterproof and everything.

    Thanks for the video, I was searching these side panniers for my NC750X and I've found your video. How heavy they actually are? Did you feel their weight? How it's the weight distribution?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don’t weight much to be fair. I’ve not weighed them but they are under 3kg each at a guess. Basically a mirror image of each other and because of the strap fastening design they sit nicely. Weight balance depends on how you pack them. I don’t tend to notice them much at all when I’ve got them on.

    This yellow lining is only in the top roll section, not down into the bag?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just pulled them out of storage and you are correct sir. The way I pack puts larger less fiddly things in the bottom and smaller fiddly stuff on top so the yelllw lining is nice. A shame it doesn’t go all the way down though

    Good review, thanks. Did you add any extra heat shield/protection to the plastics alongside your exhaust? How close is the bag to the exhaust?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, so far I’ve bought no extras as the factory heat shielding did the trick. Now I’ve moved to a aftermarket exhaust I’m considering something for peace of mind. On my bike the bag has always been about 3-inches away from the pipe so it’d get warm but never too hot.

    Hi, great video and review. I am an old biker.
    I wanted to ask you for your opinion. I should go on a trip from Italy to Mongolia and Siberia (in summer). I saw these bags at GVI where they build them and they would give them to me as a "sponsor". Do you recommend them to me? They only have 15 liters per bag. Are they resistant? In addition to the bags, I also have a 60-liter waterproof backpack from GVI. I state that when I travel I take only the essentials and not like most motorcyclists who take their home with them do. Then having my bike with side gas tanks, these bags would be ideal. Do you console them in terms of resistance?
    thanks and congratulations for the video

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nicola, thanks for the kind words.
      What bike would you be riding? For me the biggest drawback is the under seat mounting which requires actually unbolting the seat on my bike - a pain if you need to do it every night for security reasons.
      However they have not let any water in and I’ve crashed the bike with them on and come away damage free.

      @@OnThrottle Thank you.
      I thought they could quickly detach themselves for when I sleep in the hotel. While if I sleep in tent in desolate areas I would leave them on the bike. I have a completely modified Honda Transalp for previous trips to the Sahara and having the lateral auxiliaries, I cannot mount rigid trunks, but only rubber waterproof bags. Thank you

    Thank you for the info. Any issues with the bags being close to the exhaust? Can the material handle the heat ok?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No issues. They’re pretty well protected in terms of being spaced off it by the factory plastics plus they have that tough backing. They get warm but I’ve done some massive days in the saddle with no issues.

    The straps placed under the seats? Good thing its not moving left or right and going front?

    • @OnThrottle
      @OnThrottle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s actually quite secure and takes a lot of effort to move the bags with the seat bolted down on the rally. It did come with a couple of extra straps to tie the bags to the frame if needed but I do t tend to use them (though if I do another big trip like the Molesworth videos with jumps and stuff I will)
