Praise the Lord, thank you Pastor David Asscherick. Jonah 2:6 really helped me a lot with my depression and with my own suicidal thoughts. "To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit." Easily one of my favorite verses.
7:24. Some think the Bible is unreliable because "it's so old"... By that standard, we should stop relying on the wheel, the lever, the pulley and the inclined plane...
So, so good. One of the so called minor prophets who is not minor at all. I realized that the so called minor prophets aren't minor when I studied about Ezra and Nehimiah, especially when re-building the wall, amazing.
The answer lies in understanding how the Jewish days were counted. The day was over at sundown, so when Jesus died in the afternoon on Friday, that counted as day 1. Sunset Friday thru sunset Saturday was the Sabbath, when He rested on the Sabbath in the grave, day 2. Sundown Saturday thru sunrise, when He was resurrected on Sunday morning counted as day 3. While it was not a full 36 hours as we might be legalistic about in our day and age, it was still 3 days according to tradition and custom. I'm not sure where you are hearing about three nights. Unless someone is also counting when He died and the sky went as black as night and terrified everyone, at the same time that the temple veil was torn in two and the earthquake hit and the soldier said, "surely this was the Son of God." But I don't know about 3 nights otherwise... I hope this helps in your understanding! :o)
Pastor Assherick I love you but Henry Ford did not invent the car, he invented the assembly line. The car was invented by the German inventor Benz (I can't thin of his first name, something like Henric).

If you don't stand for Jesus and his perfect word. We will fall for anything. This is the power of the devils spirit
Brilliant observations, Pastor.
If you weren’t ready for that opening prayer, I’m sorry for you.
