I am now 45 years old. I used to have this movie on VHS when I was a little kid, I wore the tape out I watched it so much. It was literally apart of my childhood. I absolutely love this movie. They honestly couldn't have hand picked a better cast. ❤
I was in this movie and I must say that Robert Altman was an inspiration and I knew Robin from his New York days.I had an incredible experience performing with Geoff Hoyle and Bill Irwin and so many remarkable people.I lucked out. Harry was a musical hero of mine,a joy of a man.
Someone had made a video that caught my attention one day, according to that video, they had a crew come in and build that seaside town/village just for that movie. Well when they were finished they just left everything as it was, they just packed up and left. I forget where it was that they filmed the movie, but that little shanty town is still standing today, according to the video, it still looks the same. I'm sure that was borrowed footage from years ago, but how cool would it be to actually go there and explore it for yourself, sure you'd have to be careful where you step, but to me that would be half the fun.
🎉The best part is we dont have to listen to Shelly Duvall repeatedly go (oh Ohoh owa ohh oh owas ohh). I thought Petea Dragon was rough but the live action of Popeye is so 😕

I would love to go visit someday, I think they used to call the town "Sweet Haven" in the movie I might be wrong.
