Albert is a great character and perfect match for Victoria, and Tom Hughes gives him lots of layers and quiet charisma.
It's so weird hearing Tom Hughes without his German accent, and seeing him without his Albert mustache!

I love that they actually allowed this Albert to keep his accent. I've seen movies with Alberts who don't even bother to try the accent. It just rounds out the character wonderfully.

Raksu Roltsukka i don't know where you come from and if it's normal or not but where i come from it is considered weird and illegal bc marrying your cousin increases the kid's chance of getting a genetic disease
The increased the chance of you acquiring a fatal genetic disease (I'm a doctor btw). It's like when you're supposed to only get a recessive traits, but because your parents marry both party of the family with the recessive gene while both of your parents appeared ok, you actually acquired the disease.
Victoria's bloodline because of her marriage with Albert actually started the Haemophilia disease that lasted 4 generation in the European Royal family (their children married their close cousin, and so the disease stuck till finally they chose to marry outside of the family).
Some people might not get as fatal as a disease as the european family disease, but when you got as much as a color blind, it does also mean you might actually have been married too close to your family tree
The hemophilia Victoria passed on was a spontaneous mutation and unrelated to her marriage to Albert.
They were first cousins, which is a little bit too close byr today's standards. Just as comparison, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are also cousins, as are KIng Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, but they are only third cousins, rather than first cousins.
Regardless of whether or not the hemophilia was a result of two recessive genes or a mutated one, it affected so many royals in Europe (and ultimately ended up killing several of them) due to the inbreeding. I'm crazy over this Series that I even bought the videos. It's such a beautiful telling of this love story. The cast is pretty amazing and love V & A, but mostly Tom. Such an amazing face and the voice...omg :-) . I'll stand in the hurricane just to see this two lovebirds in person. Come the US, Tom and Jenna! Seattle, to be precise.

Love this show it is so good. Albert is hard to understand he talks so soft and with his accent! Hes cute and so is she.I have the dvd of Emily Blunt playing victoria she did a good job and I loved that movie they showed their love really good.This one im still waiting.They dont show it yet cause they just got married on tv pbs channel.All in all I can't wait till it comes on every Sunday.

I love David Oakes character, the chemistry of Albert and Victoria (to me) is anemic where as Ernest (David Oakes) and Harriet it is full of passion, I like their story better. Gossip reads the Tom and Jenna are a couple off the set, but i don't see any chemistry with them( imo) I think they make a boring pair on and off the set.
Tom and jenna is a couple in real life, he even purposed her couple months ago
