The promise of AI is sometimes lost in the media coverage about potential but largely speculative risks. This was such a a delightful interview about how the technology is starting have immensely positive impacts today, and how it will continue to assist with transformative discoveries tomorrow. Hannah's description of the once in a generation shifts that will soon cascade upon us across multiple domains made my skin tingle!
❤thanks google for this preety nerdy podcastsss. : ) and also the efforts of host and pushmeet and complete crew and all the google teams incredibly grateful to get all these insights❤
Incredibly intoxicatingly interesting conversation this was... Great set of questions which were brilliantly answered and were astoundingly insightful. Thank you!
First of all, congratulations to Demis Hassabis on receiving the award. While some have questioned Professor Hinton's award, there is no doubt about DeepMind's achievements.
@@greyreigns and I'll take a holiday without feeling I should be doing something. YAAAAYY Bring the AI bots and get them to bring me a malibu and pineapple please and fetch me a nice windsurfer and take me to a nice running A-frame beach break with a smooth cross shore wind and clean swell. while they get on with running civilisation. brilliant
I saw remarks from Google higher-ups that LLMs were bullshitting, with appropriate references to Harry Frankfurt's philosophical essay "On Bullshit," long before I saw anyone use the term "hallucination." If "bullshit" offends you, then go with "confabulation" instead. It makes much better sense than "hallucination."

Is he somehow connected with virat kohli? BTW many many congratulations to sir demis hassabis along with John jumper for Nobel Prize in chemistry 2024 ❤
Creating new materials/substances can also be dangerous to existing organisms, so we need to be careful. E.g. with plastics, we've already made the mistake and now we've got the microplastics mess everywhere. If we're not careful with other new materials, it's gonna be potentially even worse.
Reminder to Demis to do what he suggested for himself in the interview with Lex: Like Christian Anfinsen, put out a random challenge in a Nobel prize lecture. 😁
how do companies creating these models plan to generate revenue ? subscriptions? fees? will the 1.8 million scientists who are now accessing for free, be shown the freemium model down the line? let's talk money.
In spite of suffering general ridicule and contempt in the USA (funny accents being mocked, called nerds , termed greedy, confused with being terorists), Indians continue to quietly lead the way in productive areas of this society.
''The people who really understand what this means for the world, behind the scenes, they don't have words for how big this shift is or is going to be'' absolutely terrifying
Had watched this talk on youtube few years back where the professor said that what is currently known in the field of chemistry is akin to a drop in the ocean (th-cam.com/video/Z34AQnOSeU0/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TheArtificialIntelligenceChannel) AI can make possible a world with no disease or suffering
Every paper of Pushmeet Kholi that i read is amazing and delivers new scientific knowledge.
What a perfect time to drop this Congratulations on the Nobel Prize deepmind team!

This guy is gold so nice listening to him talk about his job.
I love Pushmeet's bravery in tackling all of the different science domains to bring AI/ML to bear for the benefit of humanity. Fascinating!
Please make Professor Hanna Fry the new voice of all future google ai's! 😍

Looking forward to when we can use AI for exploring design space and material capabilities in mechanical and aero engineering for airborne wind energy
... by that point it's probably designing just about everything for us

The exponential growth of scientific progress is becoming more and more evident in the era of AI.

please make a documentary on alphafold like alphago,it would be amazing...
Jaw dropping stuff!
Wow some of these topics are astounding. Keep bringing the goods
Congratulations Demis Hassibis for your Nobel Prize in Biology for Alpha Fold. Incredible.
This is such a fun discussion. You can tell both are incredibly passionate about the topic.
An excellent interview as always.
Amazing and excellent conversation
Loved this podcast!
This is incredible.
phenomenal ✨

Kohli is a common Panjabi surname in India. Virat Kohli is a Panjabi too.
Is the A/V desyned for anyone else?
Great interview...but I do also love your voice, Hannah!
Just imagine that AGI will come from the scientific research and more from deepmind instead of Gemini/LLMs ;)
What a beautiful and fantastic name the word Pushmeet is. I'm going to use it in regular conversations from now on.
Hannah fry is so gorgeous.
Amazing!

She has a lovely voice
Really big Shift people will confuse and there will be short term chaos
Such an amazing interview, and hats off to the host, for the really deep and insightful questions
This indémodable, captivant pour s’évader, vidéo bluffante
congrats, every hard tasks will be solved in matter of minutes
