I also like to write my own spells and especially work with what I have available around me, in nature. I am a strong believer that magic doesn't need to cost much and the energy is the most important aspect of it!
Thank you! I tried to fit every thing I found useful in my own spell work. Writing spells is so much fun for me, it's really become an art form. I love how personalized you can make a spell. Pre written spells are fine, but I feel like us witches really express ourselves creatively through writing our own. I also love using natural materials. I live on the coast and basically near swamps. So I use a lot of water elemental items from nature. Drift wood, hag stones, river rock, some shells (can't take too many of those from mother earth).

I’d read other spells and learn about them, but tweak them to suit what I connected with and what materials I have available to me.

So yes that means I am that witch dancing around the Fire in the middle of the night. lol It is all about what works for each individual in tapping into higher self and the universe in an energetic and often electric way.

I’m a new witch. I just started yesterday, and I have 10 dollars. Do I need tools to buy for casting spells? I wanted to buy a pendulum but Im not sure what to buy first to start. I’m also trying to get a book of shadows.
I literally just wrote a script for a budget witchcraft video, i'm planning on it being my next release in a couple weeks so keep an eye out. You don't need any tools other than your mind to cast spells. Spells are all energy work, and we control energy with our focus. My streganona would make pendulums out of thread and needles from her sewing kit. I think the more traditional way is thread and a ring. You can make a pendulum out of alot of house hold items. You can also find alot of supplies in nature. Rocks, shells, sticks, pinecones. If you buy anything I think salt is important. If you want an herb to use, cinnamon is literally all purpose and enhances the power of all spells. If you want candles for spells tealight candles are super cheap for big packs. You can get all that at the dollar store. Like 3$ spent. Hope that helps :)
