Thank you for this video, it is very informative! Would you mind commenting on how admissions views courses taken as Pass/Fail? (Besides those taken during the COVID-19 pandemic)

How would you feel about a student with a higher cumulative gpa vs degree gpa?

Thanks for these videos they're amazingly helpful!! I was just wondering if international applicants are evaluated on the same basis as US applicants for financial aid. Also will a lack of a reportable GPA hurt my chances? Am I right in assuming that my foreign undergrad degree in law will be a significant boost?

International students are definitely evaluated on the same basis as domestic students for financial aid. And the lack of a GPA will not hurt you-the reasons are sort of complicated to explain, so maybe an episode is in order, but basically, you’re just not included in our calculations for medians-the zero GPA ends up being a non-factor.

Hello, Dean Z! I have found all of your videos so encouraging! Thank you for helping students out there including me.
I am aware that Spring 2020 is an exception but for some people like me, Summer or Fall 2020 was tougher and had to take a lot of passes, even those classes that ended up with A0...!
For me as an international student, Summer 2020 was full of uncertainty with Trump's policies regarding F-1 students that eventually got challenged by universities and my duty to serve in Korean military. I tried to continue my studies but due to external issues I made decisions to take many courses for Pass for last summer and fall...
My gpa is above the median for the schools that I want to attend but I do have about 10 passes on my transcript that could raise some eyebrows... I obtained a few A+'s to raise the Cum. GPA to show my academic seriousness but I am worried whether my transcript will be a huge disadvantage for me...
I feel that I need to write an addendum😥
Sorry it's too long but thank you so much for your kind attention...!

First of all-don’t worry! Your transcript is what it is, and there’s no way to change it, so approach this with an eye toward making the most of all the rest of the application elements AND, as you suggest, with an eye toward explaining as needed. An addendum may be helpful to talk about why you have a lot of P/F grades. I would think strategically about what you want to emphasize-don’t name ALL the things that might have been a factor, but focus on the biggest thing. And then talk about why that thing won’t be a factor for you with regard to law school grades.
