Nice looking lady. Just saying. ☺😁
It’s amazing how subjective this process is !
French lesson. “Grace” ends in an “e” so the “c” is pronounced! There it is.
Funny you mention Oklahoma and the reservation dog. I live here. Since being here I have had both hips replaced a knee replaced an amputated right big toe. And haven't had any out-of-pocket expenses. My mother couldn't get help from that tribe to help with cancer meds. I have done nothing wrong to you people. Your group isn't even from the TC area. You all came up from GR with the business group from Chicago. What I find really odd throughout the years, is how quickly you got your sovereignty right after Frank Sheldon was busted on Fox Island for running a child porn ring. One that was run for 13 years. I know when I was 5, because I was a dirty stinking Indian I was sent there. I was sent to Immaculate Conception to kill the Indian to save the child. I hated Indians growing up. I hate your group even worse, you have lied and stolen my family. I have searched my family tree and I can not find anyone named Casino. Tell me ole wise one. How can you have a reservation when 4/5th of the members can't afford to live there? But certain ones can have their college paid for. The bosses can own million-dollar homes. But to go back there I have to hide from the police because YOYO says he will throw me in jail. I ask you do you really think I deserve this. You have my email address tell me.
So you must go to school before any members receive any per cap. I had to wait 62 years to find out my 3rd GGF was the chief who brought all you people there. You say you're a lawyer for the Indians. I have found that I have more connections to that land than you and most others. I have found thousands of acres of land willed to my grandfather. Yet I'm not allowed to come back to visit the graves of the people the GTB kept from me. I was a member of that group for 20 years and got nothing and was told to stay away. Now that I'm 66 years old I can't pay tribute to my family that I was never told about. The town the tribe is in was named Ahgosatown. my 3rd GGF. Mt McSauba is named after Lous McSauba. 2nd GGF. You racking all that pandemic money, but when you send it to us there's nothing there. I had to quit that tribe or they would have caused me to be homeless. Not that any of you pricks care. I'm 21 years older than that tribe. I have more ancestors than most all who are members now. There are over 5000 unmarked graves in that area. And you let Haaland lie and say the only boarding schools were in the Wild West. No mention of any of the mass graves found since 2009. Why are all, of you so afraid to speak to me?
I feel seen ❤
In fact i have a new mindset, im extremely inspired by you Dean Z. These vidoes have really inspired me.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Dean Z, thank you for all your insightful videos, and they demystify a lot of unclear issues. I never thought there was a possibility for me to have an interest in studying law, but I see it as a possibility now.
This really means a lot! Thank you all so much for taking the time to make this video!!
Thank you so much!!!! I have a few questions about my resume that I cannot imagine anyone being able to answer except maybe Dean Z: If I attended a college for a year, then worked, then went back, how should I list it on my resume? (ex: 2012, 2013-2014 or 2011-2012, 2015 or 2011-2015?) And could/should I submit a resume in a pageless format so that it has no awkward page breaks? It'll still be two pages long but it'll be easier to read (just scroll down) because everyone reads on a computer anyway? Think about reading an Ebook or something like an article on your computer. It's all one continuous page. Should I put anything in the heading of the resume other than my name? Some recommend phone number, city, email, etc.? Thanks so much!!!!
These videos are still incredibly helpful- even 4 years later. Thank you Dean Z!
What i an Alam? Please don't abuse Latin. Alamnus (singular male) Alamna (singular female) Alamni (plural general males and females) Alamnae (plural female) Now anyhow who would even consider attending a school that runs a trimester system?
OMG Thank you for this channel! I'm prepping for the Jan '25 LSAT and want to start my application files now. I love your perspective and thought processes as you consider each applicant.
Thanks so much! I do have 12 years of work experience after high school. My resume is 2 pages. If most admissions people will be reading it on a computer, why don't I just make the format pageless (Google Docs)? Thanks!
Love this interview! Thank you so much 🎉
1. I am watching. 2. Although I share Ramji's discomfort with calling Rick's a nightclub, I'm not sure there's a better word to describe it. It's somewhere in between bar and nightclub--it has a dance floor, which makes it more of a nightclub than a bar but it also lacks elements commonly included in nightclubs, like table/bottle service. I don't think such a term exists to describe such an establishment (yet). Frankly, I think we should just adopt my description of it: heaven.
heaven/hell, potato/potahto 💙💛
Exactly what ive been waiting for
I caught that Jenna Maroney pronunciation of *Camera" 😂 see you in NYC this weekend, Dean Z
Have recently found your series Dean Z! Thank you so much for sharing this information with us! Really enjoying these series and looking forward to applying to Michigan Law in a couple of years.
I’m curious about how Michigan values candidates. For example, if one had previously been a police officer, held an AAS in Criminal Justice with a 3.9 GPA, a bachelor’s in IT/Computer Programming with a 3.8, would this present as an appealing candidate profile for UMich? This profile seems to hold strong breadth and diverse experience, but I wonder how that is valued compared to depth. Is working directly in a law-related field valued on par with experiences such as internships?
Love your videos Dean Z. I wondered if you could do one on Non-Traditional/ more mature (age wise) applicants and maybe give some advice on ways to make their application stronger if they have a lower GPA?
I'm loving the Brooklyn Nine-Nine names!
Dear Dean Z, I am a dual citizen of the USA and France, and I grew up bilingual. While English is my most dominant language, French is my first language and the language I first learned to read and write in. My formal education in English began in 2nd grade when I moved to the USA. In keeping their reviews holistic, would law school admissions committees view my LSAT score of 162 any differently? I don’t want to label myself as ESL, but it’s certainly not as if I’ve focused solely on English my whole life, either. Additionally, I’m considering litigating in French. I hope this does not sound overly ambitious for a law school application; the challenge only drives me all the more! I intend to study international law.
Omg more necessary and sufficient LSAT stuff 🫡
Dean Z has been the goat in the app process so far
I’ve watched almost all the Dean Z videos. I was wondering if UMich ever accepts students below both medians. Maybe just below LSAT median and far below GPA or vice versa.
Could a personal statement and diversity statement be one and the same?
I really appreciate this as someone who has felt defined by her disability that affected GPA and LSAT.
I’ve now caught up on all the A2Z videos and don’t know what to do with myself now… it’s like the hole after reading a good book. Thank you, Dean Z! It’s reassuring to know my application will be reviewed by such a wonderful person. And thank you to Dustin as always.
I remember the "give me a dollar" scene also happened in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul!
The last part reminded me of something I was looking up that I thought was fascinating. As a linguist, the specificity of words piques my curiosity, so I was looking up lawyer versus attorney and discovered that every attorney is a lawyer but not every lawyer is an attorney. I hope that you and your crew get some nice Barnes& Noble gift cards or something at the end of reading season so that you can read things of a specific quality instead of varying quality. As I'm sure you do now. I'm just going to sit here and wait to hear back from the University of Michigan law
Dear Dean Z, Is there any hope for a splitter with a 2.85 undergrad GPA in possibly the easiest major of all time (Theatre?) I watched the video where you reviewed splitter applications, but the lowest one was still higher than what I’m working with. I know admissions look at the application as a whole, but like… my GPA is really bad. I have 4 years of work experience in education (teaching art and subbing) but it feels like even if I get a 180 on the LSAT things are not looking too great. How far can a strong LSAT and essay take someone if their work experience is not super impressive and undergrad GPA (from a few years ago) majorly sucks? Thanks, Scrappy hot mess
I’d like to hear the answer to this as well.
@@whitneychanell ayyyyye
Let me give you a little sympathy, because Theatre is NOT easy... especially if the program director isn't fond of you 🤣 I had 50/50 where of the two professors, one swore I was the next Denzel and the other had no idea what the hell I was doing in his theatre. My grades in that subject reflect that
Hi Dean Z! Would submitting letters of recommendation written and added to LSAC from 2022-2023 affect my admissions? My applications to law schools was delayed due to family reasons and I am wondering if it will matter if my letters of recommendation are old.
Hi Dean Z. I commented on the last video asking for some very specific advice and I was very appreciative that you took the time to not only read it all but give me a lengthy and well-reasoned response. I have 2 more questions that hopefully you can help me answer (I promise I don't have anymore after this): 1. My personal statement is four full pages and it's my understanding that although this length is allowed it's generally better to be more concise. It jumps between a handful of stories that explain how I decided to go to college, what I did in college, who inspired me to be a lawyer, and my thoughts on what I'm looking for in my future legal career. My problem is it's very long-winded because I use a lot of figurative language to dress up my stories. I feel like I should remove this to save space for the big "bullet-point" details, but without it I feel my writing comes across as bland and monotone. So my question is: Would admissions just want this to be as concise as I can make it or is it valuable in my statement to work in some character to my stories? 2. I'm planning on writing the "Why Michigan" essay. Is it worth mentioning that your videos helped me figure out this whole process or would that be seen as an attempt to flatter? I would've had Michigan for many reasons as my number 1 regardless (Michigan being my top school is how I found your videos) and I mostly focus on those reasons in my essay. Obviously if you are flattered by it I'm happy to pay respect to your work, but I only want to address it when speaking to my more personal connections to the school and my law school journey thus far.
Yes, I love it when there is a new video from Dean Z!
Thank you, Dean Z 💛💙!
I’m currently applying to law school and there’s 6 schools on my list. Thank you so much for this, this was so fundamentally helpful. ❤
You’ve mentioned that résumés should include all work experience, do you mean all work experience since college or should we include high school too?
All work experience since college. Don't include any from high school
Hi Dean Z! Could you do a reading about applicants who made a significant career pivot into law school?
What about the low lsat, average gpa applicants?
Does early decsion affect your need based aid outcome?
Woah, this is so good. I've been looking for supplemental information on rhetoric and sharpening reasoning skills this is wonderful. I've heard modern discourse described as a 'Dialogue of the deaf,' and that seems potent. Thanks for taking the time to create this
Do you have a video of application reviews of applicants who have work experience and are applying for JD later in life? 10+ years of work experience?
What are your thoughts on JD/MBA and other joint programs? Are they worth it ?
This was so insightful! I’m applying this cycle and have learned a lot from these videos, so thank you! Do you have a video on how you assess reverse splitters?

This was so great!! Can we get a look at a non traditional applicant in a different career field?
