FAE is Fuel-Air Explosives, the same concept as the Daisy-Cutter bomb, according to the wiki that's represented in game with a high damage AOE explosion and then leaving behind a cloud of sensor-inhibiting smoke
@@albertko1 I think from memory it came out a while after the initial bragging about the MOAB that it's not actually a FAE bomb, but rather it's just a huge quantity of conventional explosives that replicates the "explosion so big it sucks up the oxygen" effect that FAE has but it would be fun if that instant burn effect worked, no flames, just smoke.
I'd bin a couple of the small lasers on the PH-Lam and throw a C3 in there for what its worth, you'll get any benefits basically in the first round of combat. Overall though, you could chuck the Gunnery A-B in the Battlemaster and throw away all those medium lasers for something else. Tidy up the proto heat sinking because it'll pop, lose them and if it was me I'd cry losing that many in an arm!
@Baradul Kick attacks on a prone target can hit anywhere on the mech (you hit CT on the Roughneck for example). If you are on a lower elevation than a mech (say on a hillside), you can punch them and hit the legs. If you are higher up, you can kick them and it will hit the upper part of the mech. You can not punch a prone target unless you are on a lower elevation. If you can punch a prone target, you can hit any location with that punch. The only way to for sure kick a leg is for the mech to be standing and for you to be on the same elevation. C3I is only disrupted by Angel ECM. You really need a slave on your LAM and I think you need a slave on your Timby to get those hit chances up. I would drop a ton of AMS ammo on the Vulture and Timby for slaves.
To avoid your C3 system being scrambled by ECM, make sure your scout is running an AR-12 sheathed beacon as it counters the most ECM of any system. It's all about building a dedicated package. The AR-12 is a great system as it combines a probe, ECM and sensor improvements. combined with C3 and linked to system that includes a command console it one of the best sensor setups available. Slap in things like a predator FCS or Improved Optics and you start stacking bonuses that are arguably better than thing like Artemis and targeting computers FCS's. I know you're all about MOAR METAL when it comes to lance building, but I'm a big fan of keeping a few mediums around even into the end-game specifically to have a dedicated scout and flanker or two. Sometimes it's good to have something like the Bushwhacker in the lance specifically to bat cleanup so you're not wasting the Dire Wolf on smacking down an inconveniently fast Seth or slippery Saracen with an AC-20. Mediums should be fast, jjumpy and loaded up with either long-range single point damage weapons like standard PPCs or ER L lasers or a single medium-range scatter-capable weapons like an LBX or ultra 10 and many medium lasers, then tons of sensors, ECM, targeting aids like TAG and Narc, anti-missile systems and stealth. NO GAUSS and NO MISSILES as internal explosions are bane of mediums once heavies are common and assault mechs regularly appear. The goal is to pull all the expensive and precious stuff out of your squishy mediums. IS Endo-steel, Heavy-Ferro and Light engines to free up weight and stay survivable and you use TSM, superchargers or MASC to make them fast, not gigantic XL engines. Just my two cents, but what does everyone else do, or think? Can't wait to recheck the comments.
Late response but thank you for good info about C3 getting scrambled by active ECM-jammers. I concur with having really mobile mechs as complement to assault mechs. I even keep a 22T helicopter that has both Improved Communications and a Guardian ECM. The 22T has been one of my most valuable early game pick-ups because it can work with both my C3i lance and my normal C3-lance. Recently I scrapped all of my Predator FCS because if you have C3 on everybody - you don't get any accuracy bonuses for firing in short range - I think minimum range is not beneficial for normal weapons, it only helps those few weapons with a minimum range!?
I also like FNF for the extra missiles especially on something like a Kobold which can get close enough for a good FNF hit chance without too much danger.
Hey Baradude, loving your show! Right up my alley 👍🏽 You’ve got an AR12 beacon for the sensor slot on your Archer. It’s a very strong ECM shield of 4/4, plus sight and sensors buff, plus AoE probe. Range sensors is really good but… Be great if it could manage Stealth or Camouflage armour.
@baradul Your MMS fire twice as many in the fire-and-forget-mode. So the streak-mode is half the amount of missiles, streak-attack for saving ammo and +1 accuracy. I almost always use the FnF-mode. C3i are IMHO amongst the most valuable loot you can find (until all have it). +1 Accuracy and no range penalties are just incredible. If you couple it with VTOLS, helicopters and tanks with Improved Communications (which can communicate with both normal C3 and C3i - your whole lance works like a clock. :)
@ApexSun I would honestly say in the cases of those prime 75 tonners you really need to squeeze out every slot but they then became capable of punching up to 100t easy. Its really a huge investment for an equal power spike but its not easy to pull off if you are not already well equipped so...

The MOAB is this kind of bomb and it's specifically designed to flatten forests and jungles. Does it also turn forests instantly into burned?

FAE = fuel-air explosive. It's a thermobaric weapon (and therefore perfect for you) that sprays aerosol fuel and ignites it for devastating effect.
CLAN ENDO for the timber wolf. Open slots

To find DFA mech, go fight Jade Falcon. Clan partial wing system + pirate engine + 380 engine, 3 JJ +booster.. amazing on the 95 ton Jade Falcon mech.
They get Talons too don't they?
@@Hudson316 Pretty sure its the "Jade Talons" I love salvaging them because they sell for $$$!
@@scottmoore4039 yup! But, DFA is amazing! There WAS a Carebear in one mission.....DFA 'sploded it everywhere.. #Stackpole

"I know I'm going with overkill. But I will because I can". Love it.😂
Menacing mechs with Metal Mayhem! Marvelous maneuvering as always.
great stuff!
wonderful batch of rebuilding that helped you streamline your builds.
And even more Rocktech!
I am so happy! ^^

RE 58:20 FAE stands for fuel air explosive. Basically think super high explosive.
if you are going heavy on missiles and using a C3 network you need to be careful with shared minimal range
If it's in Minimum range, it's treated as short range instead.
@@Koboldbard did they change it, i remember that prior to HHR version it applied the penalty
Why not put Clan Endo in the TimberWolf? That will free up the slots.
Was just thinking this too!
I think you could drop some cooling from the Battlemaster. The lance is really starting to come together!
Consider putting the gunnery pilot support on the Battlemaster since it doesn't have any other accuracy buffs. Advanced optics would also be great.
C3 network! yay
Did the Battlemaster not have way too much cooling?
If so, reconsider the ER Medium Lasers and Consider Large ones.
ER. Pulse.
Bara-bro, I'm sick in bed and wanna watch Roguetech... Post the next one please!
With all that free tonnage that archer had, should have made it your c3 master carrier...
You could really use a small rotary chem laser for your flyer.
Get a clan xl for The timber wolf to free up space.
When u havr any money, of course
that is 3 or 4 million to just install, seldom seems worth it to me

risc hyp assault is the good one, the risc silver bullet is the difficult one
Your archer has 125 armor points on one leg and 130 points on another.
Archer and Timber need clan Endo.
Constant unsteady issues with battlemaster...are speedy legs really worth it?
Would the hawk work with those medium rotary rifles??

Is C3i a thing in RT, or only BTA? …I really need to switch mods…
RT has C3i
Just got to the end when Bara spoke about it. Dang the is a great and complex game!
fun!❤
Bit sad that you scrapped yr Bushie, but hey what to do - onwards and upwards. Wrecking mechs!
Timberwolf could switch to clan endo
Timmy needs XL (C) engine. Fix all problems
I want to see battlemaster with an arrow

Bara, you have the Archer's leg armor mismatched - 125 on one and 130 on the other.
