When I traveled to AmSam summer 2017 I flew Hawaiian Air out of San Francisco to Honolulu with 7 hour layover in Honolulu then to Pago Pago landed late night.. Stayed first night at The Tradewinds Hotel (the shuttle van picks guests up at airport) then picked up an "aiga pasi" (local micro bus) into Fagatogo. Walked around the "maketi" for awhile and bought some chocolate pod fruit (the white ones are best tasting raw) at farmers market. Then got on a bus to Tisa's Barefoot Bar at Alega had the place to myself drinking a ice cold Vailima Special served by "Candy Man" famous local owner bartender. Opened one of the chocolate pod fruit and relished it! Then picked up a taxi back to Fagatogo and got a bus to Amanave on the west end. Hopped off the bus at the village of Amaluia in front of the grocery store. Walked into village and stayed at Misipele and his brother Setefano Fomai home for two months. They liked me because they didn't have to take care of me as an American "Palagi."
God is so Good. Thankful you all made it back home to Samoa safely. So excited for you all to start your next chapter and adventure. Stay blessed and be a blessing, nothing but love and happiness to you all.
To witness ya'll on the tarmac was soooooo lovely...considering that issues ya'll had to endure !! The Welcome ya'll received was all worth it!! Love ya'll🥰🙏
Wow! After all the delays, thank God you all arrived safely. Glad you were able to celebrate with your Dad. Good to see your beautiful Mom. I just realized the last time I saw you, you were still pregnant with Bexley. Btw love & prayers from Grandma are the best. You alls scenery shots are the best. God bless you all.
Thank you Jesus for the family's safe arrival.... Sorry that was such a long delay but You guys had such high spirits and you guys made it home!!! Many blessings and love to you all...
I’ve been fascinated with AmSam since a Christian Adventist choir came to my church in Washington State. What lovely people. I was poking around TH-cam and learned about the prevailing Jesus loving island. I hope one day I can visit.
Awww so happy for you guys, UalesiFam. Thank you for taking us every step of the way. Proud of all the success you guys have had & I have an excuse now to visit Samoa 😅Love you guys!!
I'm gonna miss u T ......many blessings to u and your family. Hopefully I'll see you in the future my brotha. You scooping what I'm dropping (if you know you know). Much love
Reminds me of my family when my parents decided to move to Am. Samoa in the 80s. My two older sibs were born in Hawaii. I was born in San Diego, Cali; my younger brother was born in LA. None of us kids spoke Samoan, so it was bit of a problem trying to communicate with locals without our parents around. Fortunately, over a few years, we started to learn the language and it got to the point where people thought we were born there. Three of my youngest sibs were born there. It’s good we grew up there because we learned to speak the language of our ancestors. Although our entire family has moved back to the states after more than a decade living in American Samoa, with the occasional visits to relatives in ‘Upolu, I plan to move back within a few years. But this time, I be living in Upolu and Savaii, with occasional visits to Tutuila and perhaps Manu’a. Even my eldest sister and her husband plan to retire early and this time live in ‘Upolu. It’s a great place to retire in any of the Samoan islands - life is simple, can live off the land and sea while retirement checks are a bonus. By the way, Tula is one of the most beautiful villages in Tutuila. I hope it still is. Futiga not bad either. I went to school with some from there.
That was a LONG PLANE Delay and waiting!! Very glad you all made it home safely!!! We here in Vegas will hold it down until the Next Episode! IA MANUIA O LUA MALE FA’ANAU! Viia pea Le Atua I mea uma. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
We usually use Southwest on shorter trips but whenever we go home (American Samoa) we use Hawaiian cuz of connecting flights and more convenient. Plus it’s cheaper and they also have 2 free checked bags. We’ve never had a bad experience until this trip lol unfortunately.
