I read on IMDb that Gunnar Hansen originally turned down the part of Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre because of the brutality of the script. Marilyn Burns, who played Sally Hardesty in the movie, and was a good friend of Gunnar talked him into it. He also prepared for the role by visiting a school for the mentally handicapped and watching how they walked and listening to how they talked. He saw Leatherface as mentally handicapped.

Rip gunner Hansen he seemed genuinely cool, laid back , and super down to earth. There is no other leatherface and that goes for all of these legends and their monsters. Although i wanna note that Jackie Earle Haley did a fantastic job as Freddy in the remake with a different and much darker tone, it’s the only remake I can rewatch.
Oh Gunner Hansen,may you rest in peace. You were truly a legend in the horror community and you seem like such a nice guy. No one will ever replace you as leatherface as far as I'm concerned.
Actually met Kane in person and he actually is a really great guy but intimidating at the same time when he stood up, I could see why they got him to be Jason.
It's sad but what Englund said was true. Yeah, it would be fan service if he starred as Freedy one last time but it would be difficult because he doesn't wear a mask like Jason or Michael. So we could tell if its a stunt double or not. They are getting old, and no good thing last forever. We should be glad to have so many of these movies of the characters we fell in love with and cherish the classics. And so what if they reboot the character we've seen it before, we hadn't had the same Jason, we hadn't had the same Michael. But when Freddy gets a new actor everyone freaked out. Be lucky that the actors are still here to even tell their experience of the making of their movies. Future generations won't be so lucky. By the time new horror fans sprout up is twenty or so years the actors will be long gone. We've already lost Gunner Hansen, the OG Leatherface. So just saying be happy for what we got.

They probably had Tony there because maybe Nick didn't want to be involved or couldn't make it. I've always thought that Nicks physique and the way he moved made Michael Myers what he is today. There was also the creative camera shots and lighting by John Carpenter too -- John was a genius -- first Halloween and then Christine -- that movie was awesome too. This Tony Moran guy is talking like he did it all, when he didn't -- what a joke. I think one of the scariest parts of Halloween is when Jamie Lee Curtis was quietly walking through the dark house and behind her in the dark doorway, "The Shape's" face appears -- that was creepy and spooky. In a way it seems slightly odd Tony Moran being there as he was only really the "un-masked Michael Myers"! ( I think he might have been in one other shot too) But he absolutely was NOT Michael for the majority of the movie, that honour without question goes to Nick Castle! I'm not trying to discredit Tony's importance in Halloween, as that scene where Laurie pulls off Micheal's mask and we see his real face for that split second is quite revealing about his character. However Tony Moran is no more "the original Micheal Myers" that Debra Hill was as she also played his hand in the scene showing the murder of his sister; which is arguably the most important in the movie and definitely the most important kill! On this panel we have the legendary Gunner Hansen who in my humble view played the creepiest on best version of Leatherface in the series; but more importantly here - for the whole of the original movie! Robert Englund who is the ONLY Freddy Krueger worth watching and again was Freddy throughout, apart from one or two scenes in the entire series (not including the 2010 remake). And Kane Hodder who is the only actor to play Jason more than once (4 times) and is pretty much universally recognised as "Jason"! And then there's Tony Moran who was only in those few scenes. Even Director John Carpenter forgot who he was in an interview once! Again I don't want to discredit Tony's part as "un-masked Michael Myers" because that was an important scene and I actually had the opportunity to meet Tony back in February at Birmingham HorrorCon, and he was a really nice guy (he even asked us if we had any whisky but unfortunately we didn't - imagine having a few shots with the real face behind Micheal's mask!). He was very polite and chatted with us outside the venue for about half an hour. If anyone is interested there is a video of this on my TH-cam channel. Maybe Nick Castle doesn't want to do conventions and that's why Tony stands in but it's incorrect when he is often billed at conventions as "THE original Micheal Myers" when that's Nick Castle, who by the way is apparently reprising the role in the latest movie. I think one of the scariest parts of Halloween is when Jamie Lee Curtis was quietly walking through the dark house and behind her in the dark doorway, "The Shape's" face appears -- that was creepy and spooky. In a way it seems slightly odd Tony Moran being there as he was only really the "un-masked Michael Myers"! ( I think he might have been in one other shot too) But he absolutely was NOT Michael for the majority of the movie, that honour without question goes to Nick Castle! I'm not trying to discredit Tony's importance in Halloween, as that scene where Laurie pulls off Micheal's mask and we see his real face for that split second is quite revealing about his character. However Tony Moran is no more "the original Micheal Myers" that Debra Hill was as she also played his hand in the scene showing the murder of his sister; which is arguably the most important in the movie and definitely the most important

On this panel we have the legendary Gunner Hansen who in my humble view played the creepiest on best version of Leatherface in the series; but more importantly here - for the whole of the original movie! Robert Englund who is the ONLY Freddy Krueger worth watching and again was Freddy throughout, apart from one or two scenes in the entire series (not including the 2010 remake). And Kane Hodder who is the only actor to play Jason more than once (4 times) and is pretty much universally recognised as "Jason"! And then there's Tony Moran who was only in those few scenes. Even Director John Carpenter forgot who he was in an interview once! Again I don't want to discredit Tony's part as "un-masked Michael Myers" because that was an important scene and I actually had the opportunity to meet Tony back in February at Birmingham HorrorCon, and he was a really nice guy (he even asked us if we had any whisky but unfortunately we didn't - imagine having a few shots with the real face behind Micheal's mask!). He was very polite and chatted with us outside the venue for about half an hour. If anyone is interested there is a video of this on my TH-cam channel. Maybe Nick Castle doesn't want to do conventions and that's why Tony stands in but it's incorrect when he is often billed at conventions as "THE original Micheal Myers" when that's Nick Castle, who by the way is apparently reprising the role in the latest movie. I mean the producers didn't go to Tony did they?!
