Update: Today, the software randomly started working for me. I only change my deadzone in-game, so in the software I have it set to 0%. I also have haptic strength set to 0%. If you choose to use the circular option for thumbstick instead of the default, it's nearly perfect with like 99.8% circularity. Kind of mind blowing. I think it is kind of random between systems however and Razer really shouldn't release accompanying software that's so jank.
Well the reason why your centring is good is because you didn't get the app working therefore the controller is running on default deadzone. I'd recommend turning it down so you can feel more accurate
Without the app I feel like the default deadzone is 0... Because I can turn in game settings all the way down and it makes a difference. If the deadzone was really big but default, turning down the in game% wouldn't make s difference because it'd overlap
I don't have a way of exactly measuring the tension of the thumbstick, but coming from elite series 2 (which I used the middle setting) it felt about the same.
You want to try and spread out similar functions to different fingers, same as on keyboard and mouse. If I did that then everything related to building would be on my index finger's only, instead of being distributed between 4. (My two index fingers and two middle fingers)
These controllers die in a few months, max. Not to mention the blatant lack of quality control because of packaging damage out the factory. DONT BUY THIS
I have had all the Razer Xbox I bought the v2 when it came out I played with it every day for 7 hours on average until the release of the v3 I had no problems apart from the button which has let go

What part dies? To be honest my packaging was bad too but the controller itself had no damage.
Why? At the moment, I’m looking for a gamepad for Fortnite, and this one seemed the best. If you have any tips, I’d really appreciate it!
