I couldn't disagree more. For me, Red label and Grant's are just not drinkable and Ballentine's is the only of these 3 which I can drink without mixing it with anything.
I've had the ballentines a few weeks ago couldent taste much from it at all tbh It was like Haig club clubman for me bland I've bought the grants for this weekend My favourite cheap whisky so far has been Laphroaig select
W0W, no horse in this race, Ballentine is just horrible to me and the cheap Highlander & Lord just taste better. Like Johnnie Walker far better than Ballentine, a horrible tasting whisky in my opinion! Love Jameson Irish Whiskey!
My favorite is JW Red, followed by Grant's, then Ballantine's. They all decent whiskies, that taste different but JW Red is the most different, due to light smoke and peat from Talisker. Cardu is present too in JW Red. I appreciate the briny flavors. JW Red's finish is the longest of the three. Ballantine's is more grainy, with no existing finish, but light smoke from Laphroaig is pleasant. Grant's used to be pretty grainy and horrible, but after the opening of Ailsa Bay distillery, Grant's became maltier and palatable. I enjoy sipping JW Red and Grant's neat. Too bad, the whisky you liked the best is in the smallest bottle. Cheers.
So it does have talisker in it. I knew it! I agree with everything you said. I had bought the small bottle to do the core Johnnie Walker review came in handy for this video. Cheers 🥃
You underrated the nose on the Grant scotch, not by much, the sweetness is totally delivered. I have drunk JW for over 50 years from red to blue. Grant is a wonderful scotch and meets all expectations. But that's me. Good review otherwise, P.S : sipping Grants triple wood now.
Just got delivery of the Grant's Triple Wood. For the price point, it is fantastic value for those who love the woody smell and aftertaste that comes from this cask. Easy on the palate and very drinkable without too much of the ethanol punch.
Sir Please let me know which one is sweet compared to other two whiskes. Which one is the winner of sweetness among these 3 whiskes.?? Please let me know sir.

I wasn't a fan of Johnny walker Red label. Now their Back and double Black are amazing. I just bought a bottle of Grant's and Ballentines. I have not had either yet. Later on today I'll pick one of them to enjoy. Have you ever had your whiskey in the Norlan glass? It really transform's your whiskey. Amazing glass second to the Glencarian glass
Nice! I have the norlan glass. I like it for just sipping as I feel the smell seems to be muted a bit too much for me and find it hard to pick out notes. But for drinking it’s great!
Red Label has a weird specific taste that Ive never experienced with another whisky, which makes it undrinkable to me. Ballantine's is honestly excellent for the price, I love it neat. haven't had grants.
Is it the smoky taste in Red Label that you don’t like? But no biggie tons of other better options out there. This was just the top 3 best selling. But my go to cheap blended scotch is Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition. If you haven’t tried it yet, see if you can find it 🤙🥃

Thanks for the review Antonio. As a teacher I must say if I got 6.5 out of 30 (not quite 22%) I'd go into hiding for a week and let the dust settle. I can understand mixing, for example, vodka, because otherwise it tastes like gasoline. Or avoiding tequila altogether because it is the drink of Satan himself (ref your previous review) but to me it seems to defeat the purpose of making a whiskey with the expectation of mixing- maybe I'm missing something? I'll stick to Islay Malts!
I won’t stop you lol what’s your go to Islay? Me Ardbeg currently into the new wee beastie
Kilchoman Machir Bay is my favorite, Ardbeg 10 close second then Laphroaig Quarter Cask 48% 👍
I’ve yet to try the Laphroaig QC. Regular one is pleasant definitely trying that one next 🤙
JW red is for people who like smoke
I couldn’t agree with you more. I think that’s one of the reasons why people don’t like it when they first try it. Assuming they’ve never had anything peaty. And peat smoke being a hit or miss for many.
@@WhiskeyQuests yeah i like smoke thats why i like JW, i dont think Ballentines has anything special to offer, In budget blend scotches Teachers is still my favourite
Never had Teachers. I’ll give it a try 👍
I agree with you, because when I had a JW Red for the first time, I suddenly remembered favourite time with my pipes :-) Have a nice day. Karel. (I´m sorry for my poor English).
Trip, like Red label and Grant is ok, Ballentine is just too nasty for my taste.
I guess people are different or you have something to sell becuz Ballentine to me is just horrible!
Yup it’s all subjective. What I like others may not. But rest assured that this is my honest opinion. In all honesty I have no problem drinking any of these bottles. But my preference for scotch is good old Ardbeg 🤙🥃
@@WhiskeyQuests Tried Highland & Lord, the 1st time today, got it for $7, a 1/5, smooth good whisky!
Feel in control and yet, I'm bent! 😃👍 Cheers!
@@WhiskeyQuests subjective, a word that I use, great!
@@WhiskeyQuests I'm 1/4 Hispanic, Cubano, and I hate Ballentine, yet like Johnnie Red, not a tequila drinker, lose control,...bent on Highlander & Lord, a cheap Scotch Whisky and still feel in control!
@@WhiskeyQuests In LA, we use la palabra, bent for drunc!
Now that's proper booze review
🤙🥃
