[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- This episode clears up some of the scaling, once Byakuya said he was getting serious He easily defeated Ichigo. Ichigo only kind of won thanks to unforeseen circumstances and as you said Byakuya could still destroy him afterwards if he wanted. The same kinda happened with Kenpachi.
- Unohana is the Captain of the support squad but nowhere does that say she isn't a fighter, All Captains are top notch combatants, and clearly she's smarter than most being the only one to notice something off while being under complete hypnosis.
- The anime doesn't give too much Info About the Royal Families, but with Extra content we know there Exist 5 Major Royal Families. We know Kuchiki & Shihoun are 2 of the families, Shiba was 1 of the 5 but got removed, and we haven't meet the other 2 yet.

To clarify, Kyoka Suigetsu can manipulate ALL 5 senses so it basically works similar to genjutsu. When Hitsugaya asked Kira who let him in, Kira says, “Central 46 of course” despite the fact that they’ve been dead for a long time. So it stands to reason that he was under Aizen’s hypnosis and “saw” that they were alive and let him in. He’s clueless of certain events atm.

But because Gin promised nothing bad would happen and Kira didn’t know they had killed Central 46, he probably believed whatever it was, it wasn’t that bad. Lieutenants have a very strong sense of loyalty to their captains.

Tite Kubo really have been playing us so well all along, it is always nice to see people really see the real face of Aizen !! Also meet one if not the most OP main vilain in all of Shonen anime and his crazy broken zanpakuto...You are already in his genjutsu pretty much !?!? The Palpatine of shonen anime...
Not sure if you picked up on it, but when Hitsugaya asked Kira who let him in Kira replied "why, Central 46, of course" I believe that Aizen made it so that Kira saw Central 46 as still alive and functioning.
I remember thinking this line was weird until I learned what Aizens ability was.

But Tite Kubo still amazing tho, to create this Aizen, even Yhwach doesnt seem amazing as this Aizen (I'm not talking about power, but the personality and how Aizen's planning like playing 5D chess)

Aaand hello again! Those episodes, when u reacted, it was like 10 times when i wanted to say "well yea, BUT..." and there u have it. True villain reveal, and to this day still my second place among all anime villain i saw. Such a huge dissonance between his good and caring image, to the point of terrifying coldness and insanity. Also the level of his power - almost one-shot Hitsugaya (he is also a captain, but as i said before, one of the weakest one, still) shows much. Aizen, by the way, somewhere around top 3 captains by power. He have insanely powerful zanpakuto ability, but he is still quite young - around 500 years. The true story starts kinda now.
Kira is actually used by Aizen crew. He really didnt know much details, and certainly didnt wanted Hinamori death. As for Gin and Tousen... they both have quite valid reasons. But they will be revealed much, much later.

Byakuya doesn't really have different forms, it's the same blades. He just shapes them in different ways depending on his attack mode.
The flower petals are very defensive, shifting between many small attacks or a big shield.
The swords are very offensive, removing the shield but makes the attacks bigger.
The wings are pretty much all-out attack, taking in all blades into one single form.

Stairs have been used through history as a defense mechanism. Japan took this to the extreme during certain periods, and inspiration from that is seen in Soul Society.
By building all of the high-security buildings, like the Central 46 and the Execution Grounds, high up and then building the inhabitants' quarters and all they need to perform their daily duties around it, invaders are forced to climb stairs until they are exhausted, while the guards and the inhabitants are well rested on top.
It also gives the advantage that guards could carry bows and shoot down, and traps could be set up at the top to fall down on invading forces.
Japan weren't the only ones to do this, but thanks to their conservationist mentality through history, their old structures still stand today for us to see in their full glory.

I’m glad you guys actually noticed something most people don’t really comment on, Ichigo didn’t actually “beat” Byakuya. Byakuya could’ve easily killed him without issue after their clash but he is an honorable man of his word
And Ichigo could've easily killed him when he entered Bankai. Both of them had opportunities to do that but they prefer a fair fight.

You may have missed it, but byakuga left bacause ichigo destroyed his sword. He coukd still use magic but i think he saw it as a duel of honor, see who was right, and when ichigo destroyed his means to continue the duel, he admitted defeat and left.
