Just finished my first week @3k miles. On a week of home time b/c my trainer on a week vacation. How come you did 20k miles in training? Hopefully I get off my trainer truck @15-17k miles b/c I dislike being on his truck strongly. Good video though!
Okay I see you! We did 20K because I didn’t know I had to drive 15,000 miles by myself so since I wasn’t a morning person at the time she drove really early and I would drive after but we fixed that lol 😂 You got this Kay just stick it outttt don’t stop 🙌🏾 12,000 will come fast
@@kyglowen4185 Sorry “Ky” when you say total truck miles are you talking about getting paid or getting your 15,000 ? Your trainer has to stay on the clock with you until you drive 2,000 miles. Since you have a permit they’ll have to sit up with you until you get ur license but you can still team drive after 2,000 miles. Just some trainers like to chill and not drive so you can get your 15,000 miles quicker
Hello as for training you stay in the truck They would only do hotel if truck in the shop or your with trainer during their hometime but school is different you can check that video for a better explanation th-cam.com/video/rScifuBEzKw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pA40xBKh9kA-0BxF
Hey Bre, I know Millis says trainees are "employees" from day one and that the program is "free", but if you do the trainee program and get your CDL license...then want to go do something else (leave)...what do you owe Millis for the 3 months you were there?
Hey I got you so You would pay for ending the contract agreement I think it’s $7200-7500 you can set up a payment plan or see if another company you want to go to will pay for it
Hey do you think they care about employment history gaps? Cause Ive had to take a care of my mother a lot the past 2 years which caused me to miss a lot of time at work. But my brother is gonna be stepping in for me so that I can go forth with driving trucks.
I know they ask for your 3 years of work history but I’m sure they’ll understand but to get better understanding you call the recruiter and see what they suggest
Your rate of taxation lloks very high...after watching a number of your videos...I think it's your straight pay that is running that up (nearly 25%). Being a w2 employee, the employer pays half your taxes. You should get a sizeable refund come tax time. Basically the government is holding your per diem money...and should be writing you a refund at tax time. Do you know what Millis' per diem rate is?
I thought about getting a CDL through Millis...but find it so not worth it. I don;t find them to be honest , I don;t want to live in a truck with some guy for 2 and most likely 3 months to get a license...and I certainly don;t want top live in a truck with a camera aimed at men for one year...not into vouyers or peeping toms. While it will take a little longer to just get my CDL at a local College, at least when I am done I will not not be obligated to surrender 1 year of my life...on top of 3-4 months to get the license (15-16 months). At least I will be free to decide who and under what circumstances I work. I definitely do not want to work with a company who feels they have the right to spy on me and deprive me of my basic human dignity. After all, how many of those people at Millis would agree to have a camera mounted on their desk watching them every day for 1 year....yep...none! Hypocrites...abusive hypocrites. There is so much slight of hand going on there at Millis (aka dishonest) But that is the price for not getting a license on one's own. I hope you'll be getting your own truck soon and experience autonomy.@@strictlybre1998

Great! you got this! 🥰🙌🏾
I'm starting class in Eden Nc on September 30th. I'm curious, how long did it take to het on a trainer truck after the school?
They usually get you a trainer the last week of class like me but if none available then I’m not sure how long that would be
Just passed my test last week in cartersville. Gonna start training tomorrow, did you have Jack or Steve?
Ayyyyy I’m so happy for you!! You got this 🙌🏾 training can be the hardest part but you will rock it!

Yes sir they have changed it tho to match the miles you drove
@@strictlybre1998 ??? So if I drive 1200 miles they will pay me 2400 miles ?
Do they provide hotels? Or did you pay for them yourself for those 3 months. I just got my permit and I definitely can’t afford a hotel for 3 months.
