A paan or betel quid, an Indian after-dinner mouth freshner that consists of a betel leaf (Piper betle) filled with chopped betel (areca) nut (Areca catechu) and slaked lime (chuna; calcium hydroxide). Out of which the khasi women only apply slaked lime paste on the betel leaf.

The spectacular Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek is one of the scariest in Meghalaya.
Our expereince of this trek which takes place over bamboo bridges was fantastic and a must to do activity when you are in Meghalaya.
The trek is not that difficult for regular trekkers in Maharashtra. You can do it easily since the bamboo ladders are well made and always maintained well by the local people.
Also on the way you can enjoy swimming in the crystal clear water and even do tent camping near water sources / cook on your own (if you carry utensils)
I recommend spending full day here from morning till evening (Lunch you can tell the Ibashisha Hotel owner to arrange at extra cost inside the valley)
