His triceps are resting on the pad when his arms are almost fully extended. His elbow is on the table and his forearms are touching the pad sometimes. He cannot literally move into a winning press position without swinging the elbow around the pad (not on the pad). Most people are using the Kingsmove, but Todd keeps his shoulders and head under the table, it gets very subtle.
They need to make a rule where if a shoulder remains below the pad for more than X seconds, then it's a foul. This will allow people who are actually going for a pin to follow through with their shoulders, but disallow camping indefinitely in a kings move. Todd just camps below the pad with a straight arm using his entire upper body weight. That isn't arm wrestling.
@@smashleyscott8272 The "no humerus below the table" rule they used in the King of the Table event completely solves this issue. It allows the King's move, but not the desperation move.
Todd always goes into a *HYPER-EXTENTION* arm, dropping his weight and shoulders below the table. It shouldn't be allowed because as soon as an opponent does the same thing, there is no physical way for either opponent to pin the other in this position because you give up the advantage of winning to gain the advantage of NOT losing. Meaning it's extremely hard to pin an already hyper-extended arm that is technically already pinned. Opponents are using brute force strength and technique to gain the pin, using all their energy to over come Todd's tendon joint and shoulder joint & tendons rather than the strength and technique of Todd's arm. Todd isn't spending any energy because the joint and tendons in the elbow and shoulder that is being pulled against are far stronger than a mussel. Todd then just uses his strength to hold the position. Opponents need to do this back at Todd so he realizes that neither opponent can pin the other in this position. Todd then cheats for the win by causing his opponent to foul out trying to pin an almost impossible hyper-extended arm. *I honestly have mixed feelings about Todd because despite his unprofessional method, it is being allowed and stronger opponents are not using an obvious counter to this cheap tactic.*
@@keefergreen5888 The video is very educational. Thank you. I would like to add something. Todd has had surgery on his elbow giving "his" kings-move a unique & unfair advantage. Todd had admitted that his elbow has been surgically modified. I understand Devon has also had some surgery on his arm as well, however, it doesn't give him the extreme advantage in arm wrestling like Todd's surgery does. Either way, I have mix feelings about this. On one hand I agree with using techniques to win and pin but on the other hand (and I think we can ALL agree on this) an opponent should not be allowed to go below the tabletop with their chest (keeping their chest above the top of the table) or be allowed to place their foot upon the leg of the table to gain an advantage. In arm wrestling both players should be expected to play fairly. - If keeping an opponent’s chest above the table restricts certain techniques, other than the kings-move, then restricting an opponent’s waist from dropping below their knees might be more suitable. There is already rules in place for keep an opponent’s elbow on the pad, so by adding another condition, I would think it would only make the sport more fairer & more accurate for everyone. - Fundamentally speaking, this is about arm wrestling technique, skill, experience and strength and not about just winning. I wouldn’t want to win unless I knew that I had beat my opponent fair and square, and I don’t believe that Todd feels that way at all.
@@amateresu6708 Something else I noticed about the sport of arm wrestling is that very specific rules are made to keep the arm and elbow placement confined to a pad but when it comes to the shoulder and body, the rules are much more relaxed. I think that was a mistake. If a sport is going to restrict the movements of the arm, wrist and elbow, then they need to have equal restriction for the other parts attached to those restricted parts. The best way to beat Todd, would be via "the press" aka "Shoulder press" aka "Tricep press". Side pressure is ineffective against Todd's under-the-table technique.
Climbing & regripping works. A press won't work unless it nullifies Mike's probation. Devon proved last Friday that beating Todd is easiest if his pronation is taken at the start.
@@smashleyscott8272 I think it has something to do with the rules. He was able to pronate whenever he goes below the table. But in the match against Devon, they reworked the rules and made them much stricter which restricted Todd from going below the pad level. I think that is the reason Todd was unable to pronate. This proves that Todd is nothing without the desperation move.
Not a lot of arm wrestlers could even do the kings move, its not cheating if he doesn’t break the rules, that’s why there are refs! Stop bitching about his style, ermes proved it’s easily beatable
Pause at 2:41 visible light between Todd’s elbow and the pad, Ermes was much stronger in this match but Todd always lifted his elbow at the start to get extra height as Ermes had much stronger back pressure and wrist.
Gasparini in Facebook: Spectacular challenge and achievement! I have lost 3 to 2 but for me it's like I won (the first two regular losers throws others lost fouls) are still excited about yesterday, speechless! Thank you all! And the people who are close to me and always believe in me!
The great Michael "Under The Table" Todd... He wasn't able to pin Ermes once... He is ridiculous. I would love to see Levon definitively destroy him. Finally, nobody will talk anymore about Michael "Under The Table" Todd.
Man that is pathetic a man is allowed to win without ever actually pinning his opponent. These rules need to be either changed or adhered to in order to maintain integrity. Todd's not really winning anything, just manipulating the rules.
I have no clue why this move is not regulated. If we can't ban it, at least regulate it. Like max 30 secs under the table. This dude just hides under the table almost indefinitely. Did not pin anyone even once so many of his wins. Since this is labeled legal and MMT has gotten to the top, a lot of other professional AWs, incl. but not limited to Larratt have started using this lame technique. I mean what choice are others left with? You obviously can't pull out a 120 kg man hanging from your arm. One'd have to train with 120 kg SINGLE arm curls, and that isn't happening anytime soon. No need as well.
Much like the “win” Todd got over cadorette. If he would have stood up and pulled he would have gotten smoked. No kings move, Todd wouldn’t be in the top 5 in the U.S
what you guys dont understand, is that Michael has about a thousand micro injuries, including a broken arm, massive amounts of arthritis, and other issues he battles with. sometimes hes in great shape, and other times not so great. we all have our ups and downs, and it says something about him when he's willing to lay his arm on the line against stronger opponents.
Drives me nuts watching Todd fall off the table and straighten his arm. His arm is straightened a dozen times, but he's so far down that you need to basically break his arm or lift his body off the ground to win. Either way, great to see him lose! Sorry mike...
If someone is fast and strong enough that straightened arm should be breaking. He also plays a smart move by bringing the opponents arm closer to his side while keeping a straight arm, and then maneuvers himself into a press position in a split second when the opponent relieves his pressure after a long effort to pin. The people who pin him always keep their wrist closer to the pinning side whenever he tries to swing into that sleazy move.
Its NOT cheating by actual rules. Nobody cares if you like it or not, but as annoying as his style is, it is within the rules. That's obvious unless you dont "actually" know the rules. I hate it too but it's not cheating and can be beat so dont cry and figure out a way to keep the mans hand inside and it wont be a damn issue
Michael got man handled, do this exact match top 8 style and it's game over for todd 3:51 look at what an armwrestller Ermes is, the way he baits michael in thinking he can go for a press and he just completely powers it out with raw arm and back strenght, that was a pin also.

Imagine this ermes fight in Top 8 at 95 kg division , he would give ongarbaev , babayev and petrenko so much trouble , his technique in the first 2 set was simply perfect
Todd uses a straight arm lever, that's not arm wrestling. Because of his reputation refs don't foul him, and it's bullshit. He needs to stand up and arm wrestle, he'd be humiliated.
Ermes completely dominated the match , he was throwing michel's are around like it was nothing , but there is so much you can do against joints bones . I don't understand how they allow Todd to have a straight arm, this isn't muscle against muscle anymore.
For me the winner is Ermes and Todd didnt even pin him he won by luck won on fouls and now 2021 not even a chance yes both are stronger now but trust me Ermes with his new improved cup Todd is done

But in the match against Devon, they reworked the rules and made them much stricter which restricted Todd from going below the pad level. I think that is the reason Todd was unable to pronate. This proves that Todd is nothing without the desperation move.
wooow!!! Congratulation!!! i think Ermes was real winner.
michael todd should be banned from armwrestling . why is it that on every match he dissapears underneath the table , its embarrasing.
Holden orders fuck u. R u some kid or what?? Bitch its the kings move. Google it. It is one of the hardest move to perform bitchass.
He is not a real arm wrestler more a hanging man... Terrible n not fair no real power.... Should be banned....
Not a lot of arm wrestlers could even do the kings move, its not cheating if he doesn’t break the rules, that’s why there are refs! Stop bitching about his style, ermes proved it’s easily beatable
@@wrxrob2589 lol kings move , lol what a joke dude
@@mikerosa1276 shut up.
Todd has a very bad reputation for looking to win through the cheat rather than the strength. Low blow. Greedy.
No wonder armwrestling is not in the Olympics if you have ppl like Todd in the sport
Ermes vs Under-the-tabler: 5-0
M.Todd is not an armwrestler. Bag of manure with lever stick. He must be disqual in any competitions.
Michael todd cant handle armwrestling.
Michael underthetable Todd
@@user_1abc actually Levan is doing 105kg one arm curls. He is getting close 😂
Much like the “win” Todd got over cadorette. If he would have stood up and pulled he would have gotten smoked. No kings move, Todd wouldn’t be in the top 5 in the U.S
For once, I'd like to see Todd armwrestle without hiding under the table. Without that move, he's nothing but mediocre.
StevenRayW Against best in the world he has to use kings move or he'll lose.
@@destrox7516 lmao that move should be called "todd's under the table manuever"
th-cam.com/video/0D0FL07GHFA/w-d-xo.html
Here you have one, but only one
He used to then broke his arm and thats why he wont, thats Why he uses the ole shit kings move.
what you guys dont understand, is that Michael has about a thousand micro injuries, including a broken arm, massive amounts of arthritis, and other issues he battles with. sometimes hes in great shape, and other times not so great. we all have our ups and downs, and it says something about him when he's willing to lay his arm on the line against stronger opponents.
Who is here after Ermes-Levan 2-4? 😁
4-0

Gasparini is the man
There is something so primal about the way arm wrestlers let out a roar after pinning their opponents, its fricken awesome.
Drives me nuts watching Todd fall off the table and straighten his arm. His arm is straightened a dozen times, but he's so far down that you need to basically break his arm or lift his body off the ground to win. Either way, great to see him lose! Sorry mike...
Todd won. Todd is the king of the king's move.
@@TrueScandinavia he lost
Kings move is the most unsportsmen thing in arm wrestling
2:52 the difference in power is just different, gasparini top 8 right now, very few can beat this guy.
Ermes smiles even he loses the fight. He smiles coz he knew he won the fight for pinning todd 2-0.
Not one pin from Michael. What an embarrassment to the sport.
I remember this classic.
Ermes looks so young. I apologize if I butchered the spelling.
Todd's a cheater, worst technique ever.
this technique is good but todd gives it his own twist and it is cheating
Its NOT cheating by actual rules. Nobody cares if you like it or not, but as annoying as his style is, it is within the rules.
That's obvious unless you dont "actually" know the rules.
I hate it too but it's not cheating and can be beat so dont cry and figure out a way to keep the mans hand inside and it wont be a damn issue
Freedom Of Speech that crap needs to be outlawed.
Hide n seek champion
He's been under the table more than Hugh Hefner's girlfriends 😁😁😁😁😁😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Michael "break my arm" Todd
Ermes was the real hero of this match
Wow the refs are strict lol.
Tyler McCloud Unlike in the Wal.
Michael got man handled, do this exact match top 8 style and it's game over for todd 3:51 look at what an armwrestller Ermes is, the way he baits michael in thinking he can go for a press and he just completely powers it out with raw arm and back strenght, that was a pin also.
It was spectacular armfight! Respect Gasparini!
"Where are you going buddy..?":-))
This match is in 2017... now is 2021...
Its funny that Michael Todd didn't pin Ermes not once and still won. Win by fouls is an embarrassment, I would love to see Ermes and Devon go at it, too strong top rollers!
hondak20z1 Right Ermes, left Devon.
Devon is actually a terrible top roller. But he has the world #1 hook and endurance.
his hook is a thing of beauty yes..top roll? lmao..hell no..
Devon is a hooker, not a good top roller
are you calling him a prostitute?
Ermes Gasparini looking very very strong there against under the.....ah well, you know
Ermes is badass!!!
this is what happens when the refs are doing their jobs, but it sucks Todd won and never pinned the kid, and he got pinned 2 times.
Ermes vs Larrott 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Wow! Interesting to look back at this from 5 years ago!
Bravo Gasparini..hai mostrato a sto quaquaraqua cos è il braccio di ferro
non è un quaquaraqua, ha vinto innumerevoli titoli, ed una volta non abusava il regolamento con il king's move, purtroppo ormai è quello che è.
Imagine this ermes fight in Top 8 at 95 kg division , he would give ongarbaev , babayev and petrenko so much trouble , his technique in the first 2 set was simply perfect
Now he is 113 kg :)
@@Just4RandomGuy-m3f now 130
@@yannickcolot2319 in 1 year he will be number one in the world
gasprainis hand is soo strong..thats what gives michael trouble..with a bit more armpower he would decisively beat him
And he's much more powerful and he's heavier now
Todd uses a straight arm lever, that's not arm wrestling. Because of his reputation refs don't foul him, and it's bullshit. He needs to stand up and arm wrestle, he'd be humiliated.
I don't think the arm is straight, it's just very extended
@@Me-wk7dz its bone lock, Todd can't extend his arm more than that
Ermes completely dominated the match , he was throwing michel's are around like it was nothing , but there is so much you can do against joints bones . I don't understand how they allow Todd to have a straight arm, this isn't muscle against muscle anymore.
Soon someone is gonna break his arm and than it's by by under the table Todd. They must change this rule. More and more people think it's not fair.
moes dogar cyplenkov should press him now he would just snap it haha
Michael Todd is a cheater and the disgrace of arm wrestling.
3:51 this is what is todd's real strength when he stands up like a man 😂 He cannot pin anyone like that.
WTF he clearly won, Gasparini is thw winner
They should add a rule for the maximum angle of the arm, Todd is just extending his arm to his max... No skills whatsoever
an to think Gasparini is now much bigger and stronger 2021
Todd kept his fighting shoulder above the table but his elbow was off the pad constantly.
For me the winner is Ermes and Todd didnt even pin him he won by luck won on fouls and now 2021 not even a chance yes both are stronger now but trust me Ermes with his new improved cup Todd is done
This man pins no one. He hangs off the edge of the table constantly and wins off of elbow fouls. Where is the skill? Talent?
Freeze at 3:53, a pin, the 3rd one.
Michael complet arm seems straigh many times in that position. Plus, the upper arm is in the pad and elbow flying.
No
Gasparini was much more impressive here. Todd being under the table requires less strength
The way Michael Todd is arm wresting should be forbidden. He's a very bad example, for how to arm wrestle safely. Don't do this, this 'technique' can break your forearm.
If anyone wants to see when the two greatest villains of arm wrestling meet then watch Michael Todd vs Travis Bagent, Travis absolutely trolls the shit out of Todd and Todd gets pissed, it’s always chaos when these two clash hands
Michaels wife yelling at him mid match after losing 2 straight is the best thing ever !
Todd thought was going to be easy then he resorted to under the table as always .. When he starts losing he goes under table
The King move is embarrassing.
The Undertabler
They should not allow fans and wives to run around waving fingers and yelling at table, that looks bad for everyone
Todd committed about 500 elbow fouls he wasn’t called for then bitches at the ref cause he lost
Won without a pin that couldn't be a satisfying feeling
I HATE Todd's style. Bruh chill out with that kings crap! Man up and use your strength!
Todd is one of the top 5 best technical arm wrestlers right now. Always knows how to counter and win through strategy and endurance.
hahahaha todd is a powerless pussy cheater
We all know Ermes won this match no matter what the end result was
Ermes won, @3:53 ermes pinned him, put at slowmo. the score should be 3-1. Such close call should be looked back at in slowmo, such bs.
Michael "Under The Table" Todd.
If you watch 3:52 in .25x speed, it’s very easy to tell that’s a pin. Ermes should’ve won 3:0
Ermes would be a big challenge for Larratt now.I hope that they have a match this summer.
Gasparini: i can beat Michael todd
Kings move: allow me to introduce myself
Who had expected this before the match? I bet nearly no-one.
Now I'd like to see Ermes vs Bresnan.
mah boi ermes really knows how to fight km. but gassed out
3:54 it touched.
