Im no micheal todd fan but hes using what talent he has to 100% of its ability, and I respect him for that. Just like almost every armwrestler out there has respect for the fellow.
@@rickwilson5611 that's a false analogy. The correct analogy would be if there would be a player so tall that he reaches underneath the basket to prevent a score. There is in fact a rule that specifically forbids this for the reason that it contradicts the core rules of the game. So even in the NBA there are rules tailored around physical abnormalities to prevent edge cases that literally go against the core principles of the game. And a armwrestler who can not straighten out his arm and drops down so you can't physically pin him goes against the same principle in my opinion.
A brief analysis of Todd's tactics here: 16:58 elbow spent some time off the back of the pad, taking a massive amount of pressure off his elbow joint and causing Pushkar to waste precious energy. 19:46 Same thing. It's no secret that Pushkar is most dangerous during his initial hit, and while all elite pullers have great stamina, Pushkar isn't known for having top level endurance. This is a way for Todd to prevent himself from being pinned while (1) not expending as much energy as he normally would with his elbow on the pad, and (2) Drastically reducing the chances of his arm breaking, as his forearm becomes the fulcrum instead of the elbow. 23:33 Sneaky. Humerus bone is at a negative angle here, which is what the "shoulders must be above the table" rule is supposed to prevent. By dipping lower, Pushkar has to fight the bone lock sooner. Todd already has a unique advantage. Due to being unable to even come close to fully straightening out his arm, he doesn't have to have his humerus at a negative angle in order to benefit from the bone lock. But he does it anyway. ***To clarify, I do not see using the bone lock as cheating. To do that would be to penalyze someone for having a disability. People whose arms can actually fully straighten will not have an opportunity to use their bone lock unless they have their humerus bone at a negative angle, which shouldn't be allowed (yet some refs go by shoulder position which muddies the waters of legality). 25:15 Here you can see his humerus bone is MUCH closer to level (parallel with floor). If you analyze Todd's matches, you will see this is a common phenomenon. As he sees that his opponent is becoming completely drained, he will gradually bend the rules less and less. He doesn't cheat every match of course, but you'll see the incidents where he cheats the most are when he is in the greatest danger of being pinned. If you doubt this please revisit WAL 403. 28:37 Todd felt Pushkar was too drained and that he had this in the bag at this point. We see some actual offense off the rip this time with an actual confident hit. He dips far too low on the hit but I believe this is just out of habit. We see a few small hits here and there, first real offense of the match. Seconds later, notice the "oh sh*t" moments as he straightens out his arm every time Pushkar hits. And when Pushkar finally transitions to the press, Todd goes FAR too low and immediately engages his bone lock, as he knows this is do or die. The bone lock wasn't enough though. Notice how the strap seems to have loosened, and Pushkar's flop wrist press is actually attacking Todd's thumb from _behind,_ *causing* Todd's arm to pronate (rendering Todd's incredible pronator useless and), largely negating the effectiveness of the bone lock (even the letter "V" is flat once you lay it down laterally) eventually pinning him palm side down! Incredible by Pushkar. RIP. For those of you that think this is just about the king's move, I urge you to analyze more of Todd's matches. The king's move isn't the problem. It's a lack of authoritative rule enforcement when pullers bend and break the rules. When you're in a king's move, the fact is that the ref is often assuming your elbow is on the pad rather than taking an actual close look. He is usually much more focused on your opponent's elbow as he desperately tries to pin you. It's pretty amazing how he talks casually while holding the strongest pullers in the world isn't it? Well maybe now some of you have a slightly better idea as to how that is possible. It's also pretty amazing that Todd came so close to "winning" this while being in a losing position 99% of the match.
Great comment, personally I'm not too sure strict reinforcement of the rules would dampen the success of Michael's king's move because he seems to be getting better with keeping up with the rules in his recent matches; maybe a sign for another rule-change. Wouldn't it be better if we had three refs, one for each puller and a 'general' ref for monitoring the center of the table and pin-checking, as well as allowing immediate footage-rewinds for ambiguous cases.

I used to dislike Todd because of the kings move. But I changed my opinion after starting to arm wrestle. People say it's easy because of a possible bone lock, but I dare you to try it, it's difficult and dangerous. Beyond that, none is critiquing Oleg for his genetic disposition, which I find unfair. Todd developed an access to his technique many years into his career, and it's not undefeatable. The only thing I dislike Todd for is his wheepy demeanor sometimes, but he seems to be doing a lot of promo and coaching for the sport which I appreciate a lot.
Damn I'm missing Pushkar so much... A true legend and a warrior of armwrestling. I really think he could have faced Levan and offer him a pretty good match.
Andre Pushkar is still the strongest opponent Michael Todd ever faced. Pushkar pushed through MT’s King’s Move all the way. The recent Devon win, while impressive, did not face an all-out King’s Move version of MT. Until we see anyone beat MT’s below the table KM, Pushkar remains to be the strongest.
I think you are ignoring the part where Pushkars wrist was flat in almost every round and even got cracked backwards in some rounds( Todd's pronation was effective). Against Devon, Todd did go quite low in first round but Devon quickly controlled his pronation and got complete hand control. Michael was completely dismantled. It was superior to what Denis and Pushkar did to Todd. I am not saying Devon would beat Denis or Pushkar on right arm but against Todd, He literally made no mistake at all and was a perfect performance.

I don't blame Todd for using a move that is still legal, and he has broken the arm before and needs to avoid injury. He isn't cheating but at the same time the rules should change so that people who want to use a defensive move like the king's move, must keep their shoulders above table level, and the elbow joint must make full contact with the mat.

Being forced to armwrestle a M.Todd who's hiding under the table with his fckng arm fully extended and his triceps on the pad is an absolute nonsense ! I really think John Brzenk is right when he says that having your arm fully extended, or the tip of your elbow not touching the pad should be equivalent to a foul and then to a loss !!
YES and the real shit is that both Mike and Devons arms are damaged and do not extend all the way from scar tissue build up in the joint. That's why when they are just standing around there arms are always kind of bent. They use this and the kings move in combo to their advantage for sure. Full extension plus arm won't fully open for Anything naturally FUSED BENT. I am a former pitcher I know exactly what that's like first hand!!
If it is ‘unsportsmanlike’, then it should be a foul but it is not. Any sport can be fought by aggression or defensive tactics. Todd has chosen the defensive way and that too within permissible limits. It is better to say you personally don’t like his strategy. Btw, Todd is a dominant force today if not the best. I like his strategy though.
Nah, he applies a near constant pressure. It doesn't pin people, but it will tire them faster than he tires. If he stops your hit, and you can't get the better hand position you get bled out. Its why Pushkar wisely fouls out rather than gassing out.

This video goes WAY hard. Where can I find more 😩. This is the best production of arm wrestling I've ever seen 😩
2017 Pushkar was a different thing.
He increased his wrist power significantly. Also the increased experience taught him a lot about wrist control.
Maybe this Pushkar would be a good match against Levan. He got significant improvement from the time he lost against Denis and Devon. This Pushkar could actually take on a prime Denis or Voevoda.
It's our bad luck that we missed the Vendetta between Pushkar and Denis.
RIP Big man.
Pushkars lost to devon means nothing cause its left hand, right hand pushkar was the king. A cut above all else
No dude..Look carefully. Pushkar and Michael both lost their wrist in the straps multiple rounds. Levan is so strong in the hand that he would never let Michael go to straps. Even if by some chance it goes to the straps, it will be flash pins for Levan. The dude is so strong and has so much mass on him.
We all know Pushkar is a legend, but sorry, he would lose 0:6 to Levan.
@@RaeshAlGhul Pushkar toyed with Levan before Top 8 started
@@sonyx4500I am a Pushkar fan, and even I have to admit that current levan is too powerful for anyone to take on. Pushkar probably would’ve won against a 2018 or 2019 version of levan. But now Levan is too big, too strong, and his back pressure is also out of this world ( Pushkar often struggles with people who have stronger back pressure than him ).
@Man-it's the leva since 2018. No change ds9ir
The reason Michael Todd is so hard to beat is because his arm literally won’t go straight. He’s not even using strength. He’s just using a bone lock. It’s a disgrace to the sport
its a disgrace for the sport,,, the rules need to be change
@Jon Bishoff notice how Michael never breaks a sweat but gets his hand taken every match. A casual fan wouldn’t know that he has a bone lock. But hey man if that’s what you’re into. It’s pretty clear that 90% of the people he arm wrestles are stronger than him
@@frogman8120 some nba players are taller than others and usually tall players dominate the game. Does that mean that nba rules are fd? Im no micheal todd fan but hes using what talent he has to 100% of its ability, and I respect him for that. Just like almost every armwrestler out there has respect for the fellow.
@@frogman8120 exactly
@@rickwilson5611 that's a false analogy. The correct analogy would be if there would be a player so tall that he reaches underneath the basket to prevent a score. There is in fact a rule that specifically forbids this for the reason that it contradicts the core rules of the game. So even in the NBA there are rules tailored around physical abnormalities to prevent edge cases that literally go against the core principles of the game. And a armwrestler who can not straighten out his arm and drops down so you can't physically pin him goes against the same principle in my opinion.
Todd without bone lock wouldnt be even top 20 in the world and im very generous ...he is useless without it
Mike was easily top 10 before using the kings move and his hand + wrist are a lot stronger now so I don't know what to tell you 🤷

@@brandonramey4114 yes I saw toddler get destroyed by Devon Larratt and Genadi Kwikvinia in the past year
A brief analysis of Todd's tactics here:
16:58 elbow spent some time off the back of the pad, taking a massive amount of pressure off his elbow joint and causing Pushkar to waste precious energy.
⭐
Great comment, personally I'm not too sure strict reinforcement of the rules would dampen the success of Michael's king's move because he seems to be getting better with keeping up with the rules in his recent matches; maybe a sign for another rule-change. Wouldn't it be better if we had three refs, one for each puller and a 'general' ref for monitoring the center of the table and pin-checking, as well as allowing immediate footage-rewinds for ambiguous cases.
@@godfryopa339 well we just saw what happens when elbow fouls and dipping too low aren't allowed. Even after gaining strength MMT seems to be far less of a threat at the elite level.
@@oceanwaves83 Rules shouldnt change. MMT becomes obsolete without allowing full KM. If all these guys are as strong as they are saying, then challenge a full KM like pushkar did here.

Michael kingsmove,he is not even trying hard when he called pushkar elbow, his hand is lock 🔐

@@saigajv Even PAL rules didn't allow Humerus below table - it's just that it wasn't enforced strictly earlier. Michael Todd only knows how to win by causing the fouls of his opponents, he uses an unsportsmanlike tactic.
