    Have you considered a Patreon channel and a merchandise line? Like men's pilot, he does very well with this merchandise, T-shirts and whatnot clever sayings on them like this is how I roll, the picture of the attitude indicator. Regardless, I anticipate your channel will progressively grow and additional revenue streams will be developed. A pilot like me can learn a tremendous amount by watching you operate your aircraft.

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've thought about it. I'd obviously like to monetize the effort that goes into it. Right now, I'm not sure I could do justice to Patrons since I really don't have extra (quality) content to share on a consistant basis. I did turn on the Super Thanks and also engaged with Buy Me a Coffee.
      I've heard from a few manufacturers of the gear & services I like enough to talk about. No sponsorships yet. My gut is that I'd need to be north of 100K subscribers to be on their radar.

    First time I’m seeing this channel! Loving the camera views, professionalism, and uniqueness as I haven’t been able to find any other HondaJet cockpit flights like this. Only thing I could suggest is for better audio. Maybe mix in some raw cockpit sounds on takeoff and landing. CitationMax is a great example of this.

      Welcome Nate, thanks for showing up and taking the time to comment. When I was in the market, I couldn't find anything either. For the sound, I literally had 1 camera audio mixed in at normal volume for this flight. You're not the only one recommending that. I'll keep trying. #QuietJet

    Liking the camera angles now. Great job! Also in your preflight you run engine fire alarms. Does the HondaJet have fire suppression on the engines?

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, John...everything about these videos is still a work in progress but it's getting incrementally better. For the engine fires tests - that's a part of the automated preflight systems check. Good catch! And yes, there is fire suppression. It's built into the over-the-wing engine pylons.

    Check your recording refresh rate on your cameras. Your touch monitors on the HondaJet keep "waving" on the recording. I don't imagine that your monitors wave on and off normally. It's just how the cameras are reading the images from the monitors. Are you recording at 4k?

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, you're spot on. I have the earlier version of the G3000 which has 1) a lower refresh rate and 2) it varies depending on ambient light. So it's hard t nail down. What I've learned since this video is that I use 4K and 60FPS for any cameras that show the panel. It's not perfect but it's better. Thanks so much

      Real depends on usage. Fixed costs vs Variable costs. Jets operate on Programs (Airframe & Engines) so if you have the ability to be in the top level programs, you reduce a lot of the variable risks.

      No kidding. I just picked up a few larger video cards so I can go to 120FPS on the cockpit cameras. I can hear them beep when they shout down, but I never know which one it is until afterwards. Memory card full, Over Heated, or Battery going Flat.
      The battery life isn't great at all. We typically spend an entire day getting video downloaded, sorted and aligned.

    Great video as usual. How tall are you? Is your height one of the reasons you chose the Honda Jet? (I heard that if you are over 6', it's not terribly comfortable flying a Phenom, for example).

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great catch on that. I'm 6'3" and fit really well into the HJ. I was so used to dropping my seat all the way down that when I first got into the jet, I did that and said "the visibility is horrible" I was convinced to raise my seat. The headroom is significant due to the design for natural laminar low.

    I've been to the Duke Power cooling towers before taxiing for the railroad. I've also driving to INT airport as well but couldn't find brotha Mike's school/dealership @ 1st. I have now. I also traveled to GSO as well bt nt the Honda Jet facility personally.
    Have you got a chance to check out Mike's school @ Smith Reynolds Airport?
    I'm trying to network with him as well & finish my flight training there. I've made contact with him briefly via email bk in 2022 bt was tld he was busy.
    Can you also hook me wit Honda for networking purposes as well? Would be greatly appreciated. I'm too trying to build my channel as well.

    Hey 👋 question here. How much does it cost to own an honda jet on a yearly basis. Like, if the plane doesn't fly at all how much would you expect to pay ? 150k ? Or more ?

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Robin - like most things, it depends. But you're smart to ask about fixed costs vs Variable costs
      For me, fixed costs are:
      Cost of capital (loan)
      Insurance
      Aircraft Management
      Maintenance Tracking
      Pub Subscriptions
      Flight Data Management
      FlightAware (black out my flights from public)
      ForeFlight (Foreflight)
      Sirus Subscription (in flight wx)
      Jeppesen (database and chart subscription)
      Air-Sync (flight data monitoring)
      For me specifically,all of that together (minus the cost of capital) is $74K annually

      @@bluemaxsix another question that comes into my mind. When you look at the elite s and the elite 2 do you think like there is a huge step forward or is just small improvements ? Like in terms of safety with the new equipment what would it bring to spend 3 more millions so that you could have version 2.1 instead of version 2.0.
      Not sure I'm being clear but I guess my question would be "is it worth it" even without the question of money

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow you're really all over this! I've flown every current version of the HondaJet : Legacy, APMG, Elite, Elite S, and Elite II
      What I can definitely say is that HACI makes major upgrades and improvements to each version/Rev of the jet. The engineering improvement process is significant.
      Theyve also worked hard to ensure backwards compatibility. So unless there's a physical reason that prevents it, we're able to upgrade our jets.
      The biggest shift was from the Legacy/APMG to the Elite. That changed the fuel capacity and updated the Garmin G3000.
      Everything else from that point is backwards compatibile and upgrade-able.
      Can you tell I'm highly opinionated about the HondaJet?!

      Yep, that's Foreflight. It has a section within the app called NOTEPAD which has the CRAFT format on it for clearances. I literally have gotten away from all paper using foreflight. I also like it because it's sync'd so whatever I do on my iPad I see on the app on my phone and vice versa.
