Inside Israel’s Most Secretive Religion

  • We spent the past few months encountering, befriending and filming religious minorities in the Holy Land, turning strangers into friends. We crossed political, cultural, linguistic and religious borders and boundaries, in an attempt to chip away at the fear of the unknown, to show people that one step past their comfort zone, lies open arms, brothers and sisters, kindness, compassion and hospitality. On the other side of fear, we found love.
Watch Ep2: 24 Hour with an Imad • A Muslim and Jew spend...
“The precondition for peace is dialogue” said Martin Buber, and the precondition for love is knowledge. Deep encounters lead to deep understanding, leads to deep love. Know thy neighbor.
This docuseries attempts to break down barriers, move past the fear of the unknown and get to meet our neighbors to find the common threads that bind us.

I am in love with the beautiful quote where the man says "well basically we've been in/through all the religions of the World, until we ended up here, where we basically believe in God and Nothing Else"
    That is Superb.

"the sons of respect, the children of goodness" - what a great way to introduce children into the community. The Druze do not suffer from much dogma and orthodoxy, it appears, but they radiate a lot of love and good will - peace be to them! Zevi, this series is a brilliant idea and you seem to be the ideal "ambassador of the unity in faith". Looking forward to your future interviews.

❤🙏☀ Thank you for this. This was really beautiful. I hope Americans will see this and realize that people from other cultures and religions aren't scary or evil. In fact, they may be some of the most loving people you'll ever meet. We can coexist in peace and love and this video gives us a taste of that, which is really something special. I can only imagine how beautiful our world could be if the evening news showed pieces like this instead of the fear mongering that is so common. May we drive out fear with the light of knowledge, for when we empty our hearts of fear, love fills the void it leaves behind. Thank you again for this wonderful gift.

Thank you for posting this video. It is now May 2024 and much horror is happening in the region because we fail to understand that underneath every religion, as you said, we share the same secrets.
I'm not a religious person, but it did make me happy to see how well a Jew was received by everyone, invited as a honored guest to people's homes; we need to speak to one another and realize we are the same and want the same things.
Please pray for peace and an end to suffering.

Regardless of what bias and prejudice a religious belief may hold towards another religion, whenever I see good works by men who have in there countenance those values decent and fair, considerate and respectful towards other, there is a bridge universal and hope for a better understanding by degrees of learning, these men have no fear of crossing those bridges, I will always respect that no matter what, for they are fine examples of there beliefs. They are a brilliant people and they have a devotion to there religious beliefs that is exemplary The principle of Unification is a powerful message in Islam.

It seems that they really do follow the path of Yitro. Rashi says that Yitro tried out all of the religions.

Being druze is indescribable. It is alot like atlas holding the whole world on his shoulders. What if you knew the truth? Wisdom needs application or it can become remorse yet we are all having the time of our life! Life isn't about living in fear a victim of your circumstances. Fear is laziness where you enslave yourself with mantras everyone else is using instead of thinking about it yourself. You don't really die which is another thing the ethnic druze understand since before they were born. Not even taught! They learned through experiencing it and making choices! Why do some remember? Because they loved so deeply they could never forget

Hold on a sec, Z! For a man who says he's interested in learning more about the beliefs and philosophy of the Druze, you were pretty cavalier about passing by that enticing table full of books at 14.37 ... what's up with that???

Let it be known that Zevi never passes by books without pausing to have a look. My friends can testify. Unfortunately for me the books on the table were all in Arabic, which i don’t know how to read yet. Woe is to me that i pass such a table without being able to drink from its waters.

    • @alexandersilady4751
      @alexandersilady4751 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Pretty much a coincidence. Jew is the Anglicized version of the word Yehudi, while Druze comes from the mystic shaykh Muhammad ad-Darazi, who may have been one of their founders.
The religions' English names don't even really sound alike in all accents.

Al Tawheed philosophy that the Druze should follow as a faith, is not a religion as commonly understood. Isoteric but not secret. The Druze, fearing the persecution of the fanatics, specially the Muslim salafists, do not expose the core of the faith.

Here are some things Jesus Christ said of Himself.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." John 3:18
Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17
Skeptics said for centuries, "There was no global flood". Now many scientists are affirming there was. They said, "The bible we have now has been corrupted through the centuries.". In 1947 the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and proved otherwise. They said, "There's no way Israel can become a nation again as God promised in preparation for the end times.". Israel became a nation again in 1948.
All this being said, it does require faith to believe. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Also John 20:27-29 states, "Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Don't be deceived, Jesus is the Son of God and the only way of being saved from God's judgement for our sin. Christ consciousness won't save you. Believing Jesus was an ascended master, a prophet or a good teacher won't save you. Romans 10:9 tells us how to be saved, "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". Trust in Him, He shed his blood and gave His perfect life for you. Call on Him, He loves you, and He hears you.

The Druze is the first Secularism community in the world , covered by religion , covered by what other communities beliefs.... especially since they live in a crazy area full of superstitions. Remember who ruled that area, the ancient Egyptians, the Hebrews, the Romans, Islam. And to survive , you must be loved by everyone.
